Lighthouse

We have a lighthouse in the lobby of our church.  It has become the symbol of our church.  I brought one of my lighthouses from home so that we can look at one up close.  Have you ever seen a real lighthouse?  Bright light,  can be seen for miles.

What is the purpose of a lighthouse?  A lighthouse is built near a dangerous area.  But if you follow the light from the lighthouse it will lead you safely to where you need to go.

The light house would guide a ship so that it didn’t hit rocks or other things it could not see.

As Christians we are supposed to be a lighthouse for other people. 

Matthew 5.16 says

“Let your light shine before men so that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

If we are living for Jesus people will be drawn to us and they will find safety in Jesus Christ.
