Sermon Tone Analysis



*2 Thessalonians 2:13–17.Thessalonians 3:1–5*

*So then, brothers, stand fast and hold on to the traditions which you were taught either by word of mouth or through our letter.

**Finally, brothers, keep on praying for us, that the word of God may run its race and receive its crown of glory—as it does in your case —and that we may be saved from these wicked and evil men, for the faith is not for everyone.

You can rely on the Lord who will make you steady and who will guard you from the evil one.

We have confidence in the Lord that you both do and will do what we command you to do.

May the Lord direct your hearts so that you may feel the love of God and display the endurance which Christ can give*.

There is always a connection between the old testament reading and the new testament readings.

If you want to know what the connection is this week then turn to the second reading.

Paul prays that we might be saved from these wicked and evil men for faith is not for everyone.

He prays that you may guarded from the evil one.*

In the old testament the wicked and evil men who have no faith in Yahweh are the soldiers of the Evil king Nebucanezar.They are forcing these five young men to bow down and worship the huge false idol that Nebuchadnezzar has made.

They refuse to deny Yahweh their true God.

They are tortured and killed.*

*In the Gospel the wicked and evil men who have no faith that Paul speaks about are the Sadducees .They were few but wealthy.

The priests and the big men were nearly all Saducees.They worked with the Romans and they would have worked with the devil rather than risk losing their wealth, their comfort and their power.

They denied almost every belief that the people of Isarel held to be true and holy.

They denied that a savior would come.

For them the messiah would have been a disturbance to their gaining of power and money.

They did not believe in life after death for they would have to answer to God for the way they had lived their lives in this world .They did not accept the message of the prophets for the prophets demanded justice for the poor.*

A few weeks ago I told you that God would never work in this world without our co-operation.

We looked at Genesis where God said to Adam and Eve.

Let them have dominion over this world and everything in it.

With these words God laid down the rule that without man God will not.

When God said let them have dominion Satan was strongly bound by these words.

Without man satan cannot.

Without man’s agreement Satan could not have entered into this world .Only through the agreement of Eve and the silence of Adam’s agreement did Satan enter into our world.

Satan has no hands but our hands to kill, to steal, to destroy.

Only our mouth with which to lie, to back bite, to curse God, to destroy a persons reputation.

Remember Paul prays that we might be saved from these wicked and evil men.

Be saved from the evil one who works through such wicked and evil people.

Satan is not a fool, he knows that if he shows himself openly no one    would follow him and so the first principle of Satan ,the first principal of evil is that is that evil always tries to hide itself .Satan never shows himself openly .the

first thing he does is to try and reverse things so that at the end of the day we will call the good evil and call evil good. he reverses things ,he does this often by changing words ,by hiding behind words.

So that the killing of a child in the womb, abortion becomes a woman’s right to choose .you

see what he has done he has changed the name and made it seem that evil is good and good is evil.

The same for homosexuality, the sin of sodomy.

It is clearly laid out many times that in the bible that this sin is detestable in the sight of God.

In the book of Levticus it goes into the detail it leaves out nothing .It says what  is detestable to God.

It forbids Men having sexual intercourse with men.Women having sexual relations with women.

It states that parents are to have no sexual relations with their children.

It even tells us that we are not to have sexual relations with animals.It is explict in what is right and what is wrong.

See how Satan has reversed things.

People who are homosexual are no longer called by that name.They are called Gay people.

They have taken this word that originially meant ,happy,joyful,and placed it onto what is sinful.

Any sexual perversion is now called a persons right to choose ,a persons sexual preferance.

The killing of old people who are sick ,not in their right mind .It is not called by its right name any longer Murder.

They call it being merciful ie mercy killing or Euthanasia.

On and on it goes good is bad ,bad is good.

Paul prays with good reason save us from these evil men from the evil one.In the election in America it was a choice not between two men but between two principals.

Kerry and his party were for abortion, they were for men marrying men and women marrying women, they were for the killing of the old and the sick.

*education, new rule from the government to our own diocesan education committee.that

no physical punishment be given to children. in the nineteen sixties we were told by the so called experts that we should not discipline our children in the home or in our schools.

go to Europe or America and see the result ,go and see what the so called experts have done to our children.

According to that law if a man died childless, his brother must marry the widow and beget children to carry on the line.

It was included in the Mosaic regulations and therefore the Sadducees regarded it as binding...The Sadducees, then, came with this question about who would be the husband in heaven of the woman who was married to seven different men.

They regarded such a question as the kind of thing that made belief in the resurrection of the body ridiculous.
