What our calling is
Being unified as the church
Paul urges us to walk in a manner worthy of our calling
What is our calling?
Jesus is telling us that we don’t belong here
the passions and desires of this world are contrary to the kingdom of God

This is our calling to be in the world but not of it

Need to understand what our calling is in order to walk along side and do ministry with others

We each face difficult topics in this life
no matter what the subject we can find God’s plan and design for human flourishing
Finances?
Marital relationship?
Dating relationship?
Family and Friend relationships?
Work?
School?
Drugs and Alcohol?
Etc.
Pastors role is to give guidance to a life led by Christ
at this age you are at one of your most impressionable stages of life
No one is following their “own thing”
We fall into a group - we try to identify with people of similar interest and
we are tossed to and fro by waves of philosophy, our friends, media, etc.
Jesus promises us that those who follow Him will have difficulties
Our hope lies in Him as He has overcome the world
This doesn’t mean we understand everything
We trust God because He is infinite we are finite

In order for the church or any part of human existence to flourish we need teachers
for instruction
for correction
for encouragement
Each one of us are teachers and students all the time
someone looks up to you as you look up to someone else
Age does not hinder you
Your ability does not hinder you
What hinders us is us
seeing that a pilot steers the ship in which we sail, who will never allow us to perish even in the midst of shipwrecks, there is no reason why our minds should be overwhelmed with fear and overcome with weariness.
Will you begin to unload your burdens on your brothers and sisters in Christ?
What would begin to happen if we as church, as a youth group, were unified in our love and care for one another?
How changed could our schools become and the towns we live in?
What would happen if we quit being slaves to fear?
