ANNOUNCEMENTS:
----------
Last week we were reminded that Christianity is countercultural, it’s culturally offensive in many ways (promotes a right way of thinking and believing), and we also saw the generosity of the Gospel.
Generosity — how the gospel is for all people in all places.
The good news of Jesus isn’t for a certain type of person, (in this case, the Jews).
Christianity is for all!
Verse 17 ended with
Even Jesus message is bold!
This was essentially his first sermon.
What’s he say?
“REPENT!
Stop what you’re doing, refrain from the current way you’re living!
Turn to God!”
With that context in mind, if you can, stand with me for the reading of God’s Word.

Since Andrew was a disciple of John, chances are he was a believer.
B. Who do you follow?

We are often unconsciously being discipled by things we hate
Jesus is not implying that being a “fisher of men” involves anything seductive, deceitful, or harmful.
Rather, he is pointing out that just as fishermen try to gather fish from the sea, his disciples too will be trying to gather together other individuals who are willing to follow Jesus in radical obedience.
