The Apostle James encourages us to demonstrate our faith by action not so much by speech. He is not at all teaching that one must work for saving faith. His position is grace for salvation and works should follow. In this text if one he is telling us if we do not have works that are in line with the faith we say we have there is a problem. It could be that we were not really saved and therfore have a dead faith. It could be that we are living disobedient lives and have no works to show faith.So he calls us to put ooour faith into action. Will you show others your faith, not by words, but by works?
