I.
A Faith that Knows
 
A.
Unfortunately, many people are “destroyed for a lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6).
B.     Instead, we need to be prepared to make a defense (cf. 1 Peter 3:15).
C.     As Paul, we should be ser for the defense of the gospel (cf.
Phil.
1:16).
D.    In order to accomplish this, we must study (cf. 2 Tim.
1:15).
E.     As a result, we will know in whom we have believed (cf. 2 Tim.
1:12).
II.
A Faith that Grows
 
A.
We are to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord (cf. 2 Pet.
3:18).
B.     We are to desire pure spiritual milk in order to grow thereby (cf. 1 Pet.
2:2).
C.     A lack of growth is equated with being fleshly minded (cf. 1 Cor.
3:1ff.).
D.    The Hebrew author rebuked some for the failure to grow (cf.
Heb.
5:11ff.).
E.     In order to grow, one must abide in the vine (cf.
John 15:1-11).

A Faith that Shows

According to James 2:14-17, a faith without works is dead.
