The 3 Chairs of Faith

Text: Revelation 3:1-22

Thesis: To note that God desires that we have a living, vibrant faith.

Introduction:

(1)    Everybody is sitting in a chair of faith.

(2)    Today, we will examine the various chairs and note the one that is pleasing to God.

Discussion:

I.                   Chair #1 – Cold (Rev. 3:1-6, Sardis)

A.    Those in this chair are: 1) Atheists; 2) Agnostics; 3) Believers; 4) Unfaithful Christians.

B.     Situation = Lost

II.                Chair #2 – Hot (Rev. 3:7-13, Philadelphia)

A.    Those in this chair are: 1) “Safe”; 2) Faithful, Active Christians.

B.     Situation = Saved

III.             Chair #3 – Lukewarm (Rev. 3:14-22, Laodicea)

A.    Those in this chair are “mediocre” Christians.

B.     Situation = REPENT

Conclusion:

(1)    Which chair best depicts your level of faith?

(2)    If not chair #2, are you willing to make the necessary changes to be where God wants you?
