Tony Campolo’s wife Peggy was s stay at home mom, but because he is a professor at a major university, they had to socialize with men and women who were leaders in their fields. Not long thereafter, they were at a party. A woman said to Peggy in a rather condescending tone, "And, dear what is it that you do?" Tony said he heard his wife respond, "I am nurturing two Homo Sapiens into the dominant value of the Judeo-Christian tradition in order that they might become instruments of social transformation preparing them for the eschatological utopia which God has envisioned from the beginning of time. What do you do?"
In a May 2005 report, USA Today says mothers enjoy their work as mothers, but they would like to feel more valued. 1 in 5 mother’s who took the survey say they feel less valued by society since becoming a mother.

- Someone who is faithful to others. i. (Pr 31:11-12) "11Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. 12She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life."
ii. (Mk 7:26-29) "26The woman was a Greek, born in Syrian Phoenicia. She begged Jesus to drive the demon out of her daughter. 27“First let the children eat all they want,” he told her, “for it is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to their dogs.” 28“Yes, Lord,” she replied, “but even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.” 29Then he told her, “For such a reply, you may go; the demon has left your daughter.”"
- Someone who cares for the family

James Dobson tells about a time he came home when his son, Ryan, was a small baby. It had been a terrible day for his wife. Ryan had been sick, & had cried all day long.
Once, as she was changing his diapers, the telephone rang & Shirley reached over to answer it before fastening up his diapers. Just then Ryan had an attack of diarrhea.
She cleaned up that mess & put him in clean, sweet-smelling clothes. Then she took him into the living room & fed him. As she was burping him he threw up all over himself, & her, & the couch, too.
Dobson writes, "When I came home I could smell the aroma of motherhood everywhere." Shirley cried out to him, "Was all of this in my contract?
- Someone who plans for the future
George, age 92, and Jane, age 89, are all excited about their decision to get married. They go for a stroll to discuss wedding plans, and on the way they pass a drugstore. The elderly couple enters the store where George asks to speak to the owner.
“We're about to get married,” George informs him. “Do you sell heart medication?"
"Of course we do," the owner replies.
"How about support-hose to help with poor circulation?"
"What about medicine for rheumatism, osteoporosis, and arthritis?" George continues.
"All kinds," says the owner with confidence.
"How about waterproof furniture covers and Depends?"
George asks, "Hearing aid and denture supplies, and reading glasses?"
"What about eye drops, sleeping pills, Geritol, and Ensure?"
"Do you sell wheelchairs, walkers, and canes?"
“All kinds and sizes,” the owner replies. “But why all these questions?"
George smiles proudly and announces, "We'd like to use your store as our bridal registry."

- Someone who cares for the needy
i. (Pr 31:20) "20She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy."
- Someone who speaks with wisdom i. (Pr 31:26) "26She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue."
To Value A Job Well Done -"If you're going to kill each other, do it outside. I just finished cleaning."
Time Travel -"If you don't straighten up, I'm going to knock you into the middle of next week!"
Logic -because I said so, that's why."
Foresight -"Make sure you wear clean underwear, in case you're in an accident."
Irony -"Keep crying and I'll give you something to cry about."
Justice -"One day you'll have kids, and I hope they turn out just like you"
- Someone who fears the Lord i. (Pr 31:30) "30Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised."
