*INTRO:*

 

The second law of thermodynamics is this: EVERYTHING TENDS TOWARDS DISORDER.

"left to itself, an isolated system tends toward a state of maximum disorder"

 

Left on their own, isolated from outside influence, things tend to get worse, not better.

! Hebrews 1:10-11

10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: 11 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; [ii]

 

*/This is why evolution simply cannot be true!/*

The theory of evolution says that things have progressively gotten better, smarter, more advanced without any outside influence!

 

*Things tend to get worse when left on their own, not better.*

**EVERYTHING IN OUR LIVES, LEFT UNTENDED, WILL EVENTUALLY FALL APART AND DISINTEGRATE!*

A.)

Your body will fall apart if you don’t take care of it!

If you don’t believe that, try not brushing your teeth for a while!

Tooth decay occurs when your teeth are frequently exposed to foods containing carbohydrates (starches and sugars) like soda pop, candy, ice cream, milk, cakes, and even fruits, vegetables and juices.

Natural bacteria live in your mouth and forms plaque.

The plaque interacts with deposits left on your teeth from sugary and starchy foods to produce acids.

These acids damage tooth enamel over time by dissolving, or demineralizing, the mineral structure of teeth, producing tooth decay and weakening the teeth, eventually causing them to fall out of your head!

B.)

Your home

 

If you don’t check for termites on a regular basis, you might find your house falling down around your ears!

 

Buildings are built on top of the ground, of course, and termites exploit the small cracks in building foundations to enter a structure.

Once these termite pathways have been established, termites will work 24 hours a day, all year long.

Workaholics in the true sense of the word.

C.)

Your car

 

If you don’t take that car in for an oil change the engine will eventually seize up on you.

If you don’t take it in for a wash once in a while, the salt will eventually eat through the protective seal coat and begin to corrode that metal, and one day you will drive down the road with the quarter panels flapping in the breeze!

!!! D.)   Your yard!

 

Thanks to our Father, Adam, we now have to work the soil!

If you just don’t do anything, your yard will grow up to the point where you eventually can’t see over it!

Unfortunately, it won’t mow itself!

Of course, the city of Muskegon will do it for you for a small fee!

 

But, it doesn’t take care of itself.

E.)

Your marriage!

One of the problems in many marriages is this: The things you did to get your mate, you won’t do to keep them!

The sweet nothings you whispered in her ear to woo her and convince her to marry you, guys, will not be enough to suffice 5 years down the road!

She needs fresh romance, fresh love, fresh affirmation!

*II.)

**THE MOST IMPORTANT THING WE MUST GUARD AGAINST DETERIORATION IS OUR WALK WITH GOD!*

 

It’s been a while since we have allowed the outside influence of the Holy Ghost to work in our lives, and things in our hearts are tending toward maximum disorder!

*We think things will get better on their own, but I am telling you that if we don’t practice some spiritual maintenance, it won’t be long before decay, deterioration, disintegration takes over and our spirits will be destroyed!*

I feel so strongly on my heart these last few weeks that God desires us to renew our relationship with Him!

 

Ø    *Some of us are trying to survive on stale bread!*

Ø    *Some of us are trying to find direction from stale vision!*

Ø    *Some of us are trying to stay saved with stale Holy Ghost!*

Ø    *Some of us are tying to shout with stale joy!*

Ø    *Some of us are trying to keep smiling with stale hope!*

But, its time to put down the sword, push away the plate, lock ourselves up with the Lord and find some fresh oil!

 

*Philippians 2:12* 12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, */work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Salvation is a journey!

And I must work at staying saved, I must maintain that salvation!

I am sorry to cross theological swords with some, but there is no Biblical backing for the theory of “ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED!”

 

Paul said in *1 Corinthians 9:27*

27 But I keep under my body, and bring /it/ into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

For this cause Paul makes another statement in *1 Corinthians 15:31*

I die daily.

Ø    */“I don’t need to pray today!”/*

Ø    */“I don’t need to repent today!”/*

Ø    */“I have finally arrived, I can rest now!”/*

 

*/There is not a day that goes by that I don’t need to be in the presence of Jesus!/*

There is not a day that goes by that I don’t need to feel the power of the only one that can:

Ø    */Forgive sin/*

Ø    */Restore my joy/*

Ø    */Renew my mind/*

Ø    */Cleanse my heart/*

 

Left to my own, isolated, untouched by the Master’s hand, I am tending toward maximum disorder, but everyday I want to be anointed with:

Ø    */Fresh oil, /*

Ø    */Fresh anointing, /*

Ø    */Fresh Holy Ghost, /*

Ø    */Fresh vision, /*

Ø    */Fresh strength!/*

**THE PSALMIST STATES A VERY POWERFUL TRUTH IN OUR PASSAGE THIS MORNING, AND THAT IS THE NEED FOR FRESHNESS!
