The Vision of the Church is to serve our community and touch our world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Value of Vision

Read Proverbs 29:18
Proverbs 29:18 KJV 1900
Where there is no vision, the people perish: But he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
The Necessity and impact of Vision Without vision people perishPeople cast off restraint

A people without restraint are toxic to vision

The Lord has given man 5 senses
Tongue we Taste
Fingers we Touch
Nose we Smell
Ears to hear
Eyes to see

All theses senses are valuable

They bring clarity, confidence They help us, connect to life, interact with others

None of these senses gives vision

A vision comes from God

Genesis 15:1 KJV 1900
After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.

A vision makes God known

Numbers 12:6 KJV 1900
And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.

Before God can give vision of who you are, he must reveal who He is.

Faith is invaluable to vision

Hebrews 11:6 KJV 1900
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Judges 6:11 KJV 1900
And there came an angel of the LORD, and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abi-ezrite: and his son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites.
Judges 6:12 KJV 1900
And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.

What we see can blind us from true vision

Gideon saw the Midianites Saw the situation

Judges 6:13 KJV 1900
And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.

Have you questioned the Lord?

You are not alone

Gideon asked Why are we dealing with this, Where are the miracles, Why did God deliver us , Where is the Lord?

Judges 6:14 KJV 1900
And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee?
The Lord did not change his mind.
He doesn't see us the way we do When the Lord sees us he connects us to his vision.

Go in this thy might

A vision is powerless unless you act upon it. We must Go in the vision We must trust in the Vision We get our strength from the Vision

Habakkuk 2:3 KJV 1900
For the vision is yet for an appointed time, But at the end it shall speak, and not lie: Though it tarry, wait for it; Because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
Judges 6:16 KJV 1900
And the LORD said unto him, Surely I will be with thee, and thou shalt smite the Midianites as one man.

The Lord himself speaks You can count on me I will be with you You will accomplish the vision

We Need a Vision

Proverbs 29:18 KJV 1900
Where there is no vision, the people perish: But he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
To which law is he referring?

The Law of the vision

Every vision has a law connected to it.

"Knowledge is power, but skill and consistent action is wealth." Kathy Zimmer

A Vision is a Target
knowing there target doesn't mean you will hit it.

The Law of the Vision

Lives life by designLive a life of purposeLive a life of constraint

1 Corinthians 9:25 KJV 1900
And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.

Vision is the GoalTemperance is the vehicle

Matthew 28:19 KJV 1900
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
2 Timothy 4:2 KJV 1900
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
2 Timothy 4:3 KJV 1900
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
