*NO TIME TO DREAM*

 

He was indeed a horror of a man to look at.

From his head down to his toes the best summary of his being was caught in one word,  replusive.

But what was so amazing was his popularity.

A murderer, common cut throat was loved and imitated by thousands of children.

His victims though were indeed no way members of His "fan club"   For they were thoughtlessly slaughtered.

Some burned, others impaled, body parts were severed heads, eyes, legs and the like.

A master  of disguise he could  appear as any sex.

He was also a master at catching his unsuspecting victims by surprise.

I guess all the more exicting and sensuous for him.

The more the horror the better the game, the more the pain and groveling the satisfying.

He had the tools to kill, the appearance to intimatate.

His skin all over his body had the semblance of third degree burns even on his very face.

His nails were long razor sharp.

And he was as quick, agile and powerful as a cheetah or leopard.

And his vitcims were many this fictitious character called Cruger .

Freedy Cruger.

But you see the only way that he could slay anyone is if they were asleep.

Dreaming!!  Never when they were awake because Freedy was an apparition, phantasm, a spook.

That could only invade the mind when sleeping.

Infiltrating the dreams of individuals and literally killing them physically.

So when victims thought they were in dream world they on there way to a nightmare on Elm Street.

And with each closing episode of this horrorible horrir film the cry is heard man, Freedy's dead!  but some there is always another sequel and each time Freedy comes and pops up that ugly nappy face head of his to bury his hacthet in somebody.

Romans 13:11-14  And do this, understanding the present time.

The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.

The night is nearly over; the day is almost here.

So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.

Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy.

Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature.

 Paul here is concerned because of the saints lack of concern of their soul salvation.

There is a base of priority that seems Christianity has been put on the back burner.

The midnight hour of the immentent return of Jesus is coming.

The hour hand of the clock is pointing upward toward its finger drawing attention to the number tweleve.

It means that this is the hour that is at hand.

This is the one we look forward too.

This is the one that we are approaching.

The minute hand is drawing closer ever sixty seconds one minute at a time that’s why Paul said it’s HIGH time!

Time is opportunity—the devil understands that for sure that’s why the Bible records that .

Unfortunately, we cannot buy more time--not one more day, not one more hour, not one more minute.

A study revealed that an average seventy-year-old man has spent twenty-four years sleeping, fourteen years working, eight years in amusements, six years at the dinner table, five years in transportation, four years in conversation, three years in education, and two years in studying and reading.

His other four years were spent in miscellaneous pursuits.

Of those four years, he spent forty-five minutes in church on Sundays, and five minutes were devoted to prayer each day.

This adds up to a not at all impressive total of five months that he gave to God over the seventy years of his life.

Even if this man had been a faithful churchgoer who attended Sunday school and three one-hour services per week, he would have spent only one year and nine months in church!

If you have a question about the above arithmetic, sit down and figure out how /you/ have been using your time.

How large a portion of it is for the things related to God?

When you finish this exercise, ponder what Jesus said: “What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? . .
