\\ \\ So what do I know about Enoch? \\ \\ "And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah: And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:" Genesis 5:21-23 \\ \\ "By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God." Hebrews 11:5 \\ \\ "And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard [speeches] which ungodly sinners have spoken against him."

Jude 1:14,15 \\ He warned the people about false teachers who maybe looked good to other sinners but actually spoke against Christ.

He didn't die as others do, but God took him directly to heaven.

Before he went, he had an outstanding testimony: he walked with God for over 300 years!

\\ "Walked" in this case means that Enoch followed God's leading in all that he did.

He obeyed God's commands.

\\ How is Jesus Christ revealing Himself to me in this passage?

Sometimes I've wondered if Christ will come for His people in that instant when every one of us are walking in obedience.

I say instant because the syncronization of that moment may not last long.

Whether or not that is true, Jesus walked totally in the will of His Father.

\\ What has He shown me that my response ought to be?

My life too, is to be in step with Him.

Like Enoch, I am to govern all that I do by His commands.

It is not easy.

He takes large steps and I often fall behind.

Sometimes He slows down or even appears to be stopped, and I try to run ahead.

Walking with Him means paying attention to not only His speed but His direction.

That means careful attention to His Word and His Spirit.

Lord, may I walk with you this day.

Three hundred years?

My life may last another 30; I'd like to walk with you that entire time.

Enable me.
