JOHN’S EASTER NARRATIVES
20 1-9
Mary tells Peter & John who race to the tomb
John wins the race but Peter goes in
John enters, sees and believes
(Mary meets the risen Jesus)
(Jesus appears to His friends and then again to Thomas)
20 30- 21 14
John concludes his Gospel then adds a chapter
A group of disciples follows Peter to go fishing
In the morning a figure appears on the shore
He challenges them to follow His instruction
The fish are caught – John recognises Jesus
They are fed by Jesus.
(Jesus reinstates Peter)
21 20-24
Peter sees John following and asks about him
Jesus challenges Peter to follow, whatever
John adds his signature to the chapter
