Romans 8:18

8 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.   

  1. Consideration – of the type of Gospel received and the considering the cost
    1. The type of Gospel believed and preached, “Prosperity”.

                                         i.    What it is

1.    Laying the wrong foundation means we won’t be able to finish the work? - Luke 14:25-27

                                        ii.    Why it is wrong

1.   Bumpy rides where is God

2.   Proper salvation doesn’t measure his relationship by the flight

3.   Jesus saved us from Hell

                                      iii.    The problem

1.   if we turn the Gospel into something were your rewarded for your faith here on earth with earthly things then it ties us more to the world and less to the cross.

                                         i.    Here and Now verses Eternity –

    1. The cost of discipleship                                          i.    Luke 14:25-27, 33

No relationship in your life is more important than your relationship with Christ

a.   How many times in our life do we do what Judas Did?  On the night of your hearts desires do we stand firm or give God away?

b.   The sadness of be unequally yoked is that women sit in the pews week after week ….

The cost is our life

d.   V33 we must give up every thing to follow Jesus

                                      ii.    Consider….. Worth

1.   When you use this phraseology you define these two words in terms of identity.  This means when we chose and make a decision we align what we are with what we choose.

2.   What we decides means what we will suffer for

    1. 1 year before I came back to Christ I began to look at my life and the burden of the call I had been running away from was weighing on me and as the Holy Spirit convicted me it made me weigh what I was with what I should be.  And the one thing I knew was to get what I should be wasn’t in the direction of were I was at

      31 Now it was the day of Preparation, and the next day was to be a special Sabbath. Because the Jews did not want the bodies left on the crosses during the Sabbath, they asked Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies taken down. 32 The soldiers therefore came and broke the legs of the first man who had been crucified with Jesus, and then those of the other. 33 But when they came to Jesus and found that he was already dead, they did not break his legs.
