Reproached For Christ.

1 Peter 4:15

“If ye be reproached for the cause of Christ, happy are ye…”

Peter here reminds us of what Christ himself spoke about in the sermon on the mount.

Matthew 5:3-11

1. Poor in spirit

2. Mourn – over loss

3. Meek

4. Hunger and thirst after righteousness

5. Merciful

6. Pure in heart

7. Persecuted for righteousness sake

8. Reviled, persecuted, spoken evil against falsely, for Christ’s sake

This is what Christ was getting at in the beatitudes, that as Christian when we live for the Lord, there is suffering, but He more than compensates.
