The Gospel
Our mission is to make Disciples --
Jesus paid the price
Jesus does the saving
But we must SHARE the Gospel with an angst for OTHERS
But do you know the answer to WHAT IS THE GOSPEL?
The Gospel, in its simplest form, is the good news of what God has done through Jesus Christ. Here are the key points:
God’s Love and Grace: The Gospel reveals that God loves humanity deeply. Despite our sin and brokenness, He offers forgiveness and salvation.
Jesus’ Sacrifice: Jesus, the Son of God, died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins. His death and resurrection provide a way for us to be reconciled with God.
New Life: Through faith in Jesus, we become children of God. We receive eternal life and the promise of a restored creation.
In essence, the Gospel is about redemption, hope, and the transformative power of God’s love.
I offer you this today.

In our message today,
we have a shift from Jesus being troubled (john 13:21)
to Jesus (who knows ALL things) calling out
that His disciples are troubled
John 14:1 (ESV)
1 “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.
We understand our hearts being Troubled
He just dropped the TRUTH
He knows HIS purpose
His reason for coming to Earth is about to occur
He knows that His time has come!!
Today i want to Encourage You that you MUST learn the Gospel
And have a WAY ----to present the TRUTH, so that ALL can have LIFE

I have heard so so many ways to present THE GOSPEL
and frankly there have been many times that i have simply been confused
I have attempted to memorize the Roman Road
Learned a method from a cassette tape from a guy named Ray Comfort
Learning to mark my Bible a certain way
Even have been told to simply read and understand and present John 3:16
John 3:16 (ESV)
16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
But here in our verses today is a simple methodology to answer to the question
What is the Gospel?
This is the question that i finally ask almost 20 years ago in a class
like many of you
I didn’t know the answer to that question well enough to put it into words
I didn’t know how to handle it or frankly understand it
There was a time that i simply repeated what i was told
it is the Gospel
a reading weekly from my Pastor in the Books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John
or something to sound like we are Christian
I learned to say it , and when to reference it but i didn’t know it
but when ask directly i FROZE
what do i say?
I know there is an answer, and our mission as Christians is to share the Gospel with as many people as we can
you see that evening in a Bible Study Group
my angst was overwhelming
I sat there with men with Bible College degrees, Elders, Pastors, Leaders
I felt small, insignificant
I finally ask the question
WHAT IS THE GOSPEL?
almost 20 years after saying a prayer in a tear filled conversation alone in a bathroom stall
I finally ask the question
WHAT IS THE GOSPEL?
i would love to tell you that with all these Smart learned men around me that i was
overwhelmed with great answers but that was NOT the case
The first man said it is simply THE GOOD NEWS
What GOOD NEWS?
winning the lottery, getting the job of my dreams --- is GOOD NEWS
if it is simply the GOOD NEWS then I am more confused
Have you ever felt this way?
Here is the Gospel of John
Jesus gives an opening that we can model
Can you remember that Jesus is the WAY, THE TRUTH and THE LIFE?
i don’t want to teach you a paragraph to memorize
For the Gospel requires relationship, with CHRIST and with YOU
We are to GO and MAKE
I want to plant the seed of deeper understanding.

Jesus is the WAY, THE TRUTH, and THE LIFE
The Gospel is the Good News
and the good news is that
Through Jesus and only through Jesus
we can be REDEEMED
People don’t like that ----- ONLY THROUGH
people want to negotiate the WAY
BUT JESUS IS THE WAY and THAT’S the TRUTH
So the Gospel is the Truth that we can be REDEEMED
from what?
The TRUTH that we are SINNERS in need of a Saviour
We didn’t disobey God personally in the Garden of Eden
But from that disobedience
Sin entered the World and our Relationship with God changed
Genesis 3:22–24 (ESV)
22 Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever—”
23 therefore the Lord God sent him out from the garden of Eden to work the ground from which he was taken.
24 He drove out the man, and at the east of the garden of Eden he placed the cherubim and a flaming sword that turned every way to guard the way to the tree of life.
Therefore, we are Sinners
We need to resolve that
in order to be in the Presence of God on this earth
and to have Eternal Life with God in Heaven
God cannot abide with Sin, therefore for us to be RESTORED
the PRICE needed to be PAID
and JESUS DID THAT FOR US ON THE CROSS
There is no one else
Acts 4:12 (ESV)
12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
There is NO OTHER WAY
You know the heart of GOD
God wants ALL to come to a Saving Faith in Jesus
and our LOVING Father provided the WAY out of our Sin,
to have the Curse of Man
from the Garden of Eden be resolved one and for ALL
We can be REDEEMED — We are REDEEMED as Christ Followers as DISCIPLES
not on our strength or our actions
but because of the Love, Grace, and Promise of God through Jesus
John 14:1 (ESV)
1 “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.
Jesus has come to earth to pay the price that no one could pay
no sacrifice or lifestyle could or can do that
we DON’T have that ability or strength without Jesus
John 14:2–3 (ESV)
2 In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.
Thomas like us doesn’t understand
John 14:5 (ESV)
5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?”
so Jesus in His love answers him and gives us the answer we all need
John 14:6–7 (ESV)
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
7 If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”

8 Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.”
Still a misunderstanding from the Disciples.....
Jesus answers him also
John 14:9–11 (ESV)
9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works.
11 Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else believe on account of the works themselves.

This is our mission to share the Good News
that we have a WAY out of our Sin identity
Jesus is the Way
Jesus is the ONLY WAY
and that is TRUTH that leads to LIFE
Know Me
Believe in Me
and how will anyone know Jesus unless
we tell them the Good News
our commission is
Matthew 28:19–20 (ESV)
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Preach the Gospel, the Good News
Baptize them
Teach them
to be fully devoted FOLLOWERS of Jesus
Be must
BELIEVE, BAPTIZE, BECOME
The Gospel is the Start
we must believe that we are sinners in need
of something that we can not do ourselves
In His Amazing Grace and Love
We must proclaim Jesus as our Lord and Saviour
and Believe in our Heart in the Power of His Resurrection
Romans 10:9 (ESV)
9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
We surrender our life
so that we can have HIS LIFE
That is the Way, the Truth and the LIFE
That is Jesus
John 14:12–14 (ESV)
12 “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father.
13 Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.
We Believe in Him
We submit to Baptism in Him
and seek to live our Lifes to BECOME like Him

Jesus is the Only WAY
Our ONLY Truth
and the Only LIFE that Saves Us from Sin, Satan, and Suffering
Have a WAY to present the TRUTH, so that ALL can have LIFE
