Intro
Seeing everything in black and white
humanity not well w/ nuances
WELL THEY shouldnt, want the Truth capital T
we want, as we should simplicity, because truth is simple
but Truth not creature
creatures are complicated because of our limtis
temptation toss the baby w/ bath water for simplicity where not
beware simplify where no simplicity
Body Soul
want over simplify with the body and soul
“we are only body, the soul adds nothing”
“no we are only a soul, the body is just the machine we pilot”
the Church is somewhat irritatingly more nuanced and complex from the beginning, we are body and soul
Neither just body nor just soul
Though clump of cells, more than just
neither are we a ghost in a meat machine
we are body and soul
Christ shows us this from beginning
not right think apostles think Christ gohst in gospel
Christ physically and earthily corrects
Resurrection not just heaven soul, but glorified bodies
if try Catholic, probably don’t need hear soul, but truly bodily
dignity is of great importance, as the DDF few days ago, so too therefore body
‘The body is sacred’
think about that for a second.
not a clump of cells, not a meat machine pilot, but through Christ DIVINE dignity
sure, its corrupted in this life, but corruption implies its inalienable dignity
whatever corrupts is said to corrupt on account of the dignity that it infects.
if no good corrupted, then no corruption
a fall or corruption implies dignity logically
What sacred body mean for us?
as DDF countless centuries a whole lot
any attack on the body is an attack on human dignity on God through Christ’s being man
What are...name a few:
unconcerned with the physical welfare
healthcare
good living conditions
our own body temple
care of a most Holy Temple, for such it is
gluttony
bad drugs
means transgender or transhuman alterations are impossible, for we truly are what our body is, not mere clothing for our soul.
you are human and you are male or female, no artifice will change that
it also means that such butchers of doctors, tho they do greater harm, never truly steal away one’s identity
means if you are part of the human species physically, no amount of physical defect or disease removes your mighty dignity being equal to all mankind.
from the moment of entering in the species at your conception to death
from grave cognitive diseases to the worst leprosies, you are of temple level dignity
Conclusion
look down at your body
its a part of very identity
One day, if you are in Christ, it will be healed of all fault and defect,
for we believe in the Resurrection of the body, not just ephemeral souls in heaven.
your body is a temple, and so is your neighbor’s
Treat them as the Temple of God that they are knowing we are still in exile from the full temple rebuilt in Christ when this life’s exile ends.
Me
dignity of man in body
