It's All in There: Just Add Faith!

Sunday, April 26, 1998/ April 15, 2007

John 9:1, 7, 35-38; 1  Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. ... 7  And He said to him, "Go, wash in the pool of Siloam" (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing. ... 35  Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when He had found him, He said to him, "Do you believe in the Son of God?"  36  He answered and said, "Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?"  37  And Jesus said to him, "You have both seen Him and it is He who is talking with you."  38  Then he said, "Lord, I believe!" And he worshiped Him.

Matt 21:21-22; 21  So Jesus answered and said to them, "Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, `Be removed and be cast into the sea,' it will be done.  22  "And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive."

INTRO.: Every once in a while my wife would say let's have pancakes.  She'd tell me to get the mix that only needs water.  EVERYTHING ELSE IS IN THERE; JUST ADD WATER.

My God has everything that we need; Everything, I said everything! WE JUST ADD FAITH.

Faith And Doubt

Doubt sees the obstacles.

Faith sees the way!

Doubt sees the darkest night,

Faith sees the day!

Doubt dreads to take a step.

Faith soars on high!

Doubt questions, “Who believes?”

Faith answers, “I!”  —Gospel Banner

Never put a question mark where God has put a period. —John R. Rice

Faith is not a double portion of wishful thinking!

FAITH is rooted in the Power & Authority of Jesus Christ and His Word.

YOU SHALL...

Matt 10:7-8; 7  "And as you go, preach, saying, 'The kingdom of heaven is at hand.' 8  "Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.

Matt 16:18-19; 18  "And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. 19  "And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."

Mark 16:15-18; 15  And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16  "He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17  "And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18  "they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

We have the promise;    We need the Faith!

The QUESTION is:     Matt 9:28  And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?"

They said to Him, "Yes, Lord."

In John 9:35-38, we read that a blind man was healed...

We can be recipients of the Goodness of God and not have FAITH.

For God's Goodness rains on the just and the unjust.

The blind man was cast out of the temple because Jesus healed him, then Jesus found him and asked,  "Do you believe?"

The man answered , "Who is He that I may believe?"

To really have faith we must know Him!

Jesus said, "It is I."; and the former blind man cried, "LORD, I BELIEVE!

Right Faith demonstrates a right response; And he worshiped Him.”

Faith is Action based on right thinking and right beliefs!

John 14:12-15;12  "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. 13  "And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14  "If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. 15  "If you love Me, keep My commandments.

Faith is not the lazy way out; {sit, wait, & see.}

We must speak the language of FAITH. {not I hope so, someday, in God's good time...}

But Lord, I believe! TODAY, RIGHT NOW! EACH DAY IS GREAT EXPECTATIONS, KNOW GOD IS WORKING RIGHT NOW!

It’s the right response, not just in words but in actions:

Yes I believe, Yes I’ll worship, Yes I’ll be obedient to your Word…

Faith marches around the wall until...

Faith Breaks the pitcher, blows the trumpet & shouts the victory until....

Faith Prays until...

Faith Sings until...

Faith Praises until...

Faith expects until…

Faith stands on the WORD!

We don't come to 'GET' from God but to 'RECEIVE"!

Matt 21:22 “And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive."

What do you need from God today?

What do you believe God for today?

ALTER CALL: When what we need & what we believe God for come together, the result is we receive!

PREPARE:  Repent; make right; release; obey;  BELIEVE.

ALL THE INGREDIENTS ARE HERE, RIGHT NOW; JUST ADD FAITH!

By Faith Not Sight

Sometimes I’m sad, I know not why

My heart is sore distressed;

It seems the burdens of this world

Have settled on my heart.

And yet I know … I know that God

Who doeth all things right

Will lead me thus to understand

To walk by FAITH … not SIGHT.

And though I may not see the way

He’s planned for me to go,

The way seems dark to me just

But oh, I’m sure He knows!

Today He guides my feeble step

Tomorrow’s in His right …

He has asked me to never fear …

But walk by FAITH … not SIGHT.

Some day the mists will roll away,

The sun will shine again.

I’ll see the beauty in the flowers,

I’ll hear the bird’s refrain,

And then I’ll know my Father’s hand

Has led the way to light

Because I placed my hand in His

And walked by FAITH … not SIGHT.
