Why? It the news we all have been longing for
What do I believe God wants us to do? Believe and rejoice
Why? Believe makes the Easter good news true for us

Anybody love good news?
Anybody receive good news?
What are some of the places we have recieved good news?
For some of us we have received good news about a job
We got the call or email that we have been hired at the job we really wanted
Or we got the promotion or a raise
Some of us have recieved goods news about our health. We have been celebrating this at Renew
Heart healed
Cancer free
Tumor shrunk
Some of us have recieved good news when it comes to school.
You have been sweeting and then you find out your passed and with a good grade
BROWNS
We love good news
AND for those you are hearing this and are struggling because those areas. I have some good news that God we worship TURNS BAD NEWS to GOOD NEWS
I like how one song has sung it recently “If it is not good then He’s not done”
Then I have further good news…the GREATEST NEWS OF ALL…it is the greatest news that has ever happened in history and has shaped all of HISTORY and your HISTORY, present and future
AND THIS GREATEST NEWS STORY has NUMEROUS OTHER GREAT NEWS IN IT
HE IS RISEN HE IS RISEN INDEED
DEATH COULD NOT DEFEAT JESUS
LET’S READ
Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb.
And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it.
His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow.
And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men.
But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.
He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.
Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. See, I have told you.”
So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples.
THE ENEMIES OF JESUS….WE WILL JUST SHUT JESUS UP LIKE OTHER MESSIAHS THOUGHT ON GOOD FRIDAY 2000 years ago we will shut Jesus like they have done with all the other so called Messiahs…..we will crucify Him on a cross showing the whole world if you come against us, you will be crucified as well.
On Friday the enemies are rejoicing…this is finally over….yes it is over
BUT HERE’S THE PROBLEM THAT WAS FRIDAY….THEN DIDN’T REALIZE SUNDAY WAS COMING
Friday the enemies are rejoicing
The disciples are devastated…all hope seems lost
BUT THEY DIDN’T REALIZE SUNDAY WAS COMING
ON SUNDAY JESUS RISES AND DEFEATS THE POWER OF DEATH JESUS IS GOING TO DEFEAT THE DEATH AND THE POWER OF SIN
THE GREATEST STORY OF EASTER IS HE IS RISEN
JESUS SHOUTS ON EASTER….DEATH YOU THOUGHT YOU WON OH YOU HAVE LOST!
Let’s read
When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”
“O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.
US VICTORY
SOME OF US SAY THAT IS GREAT FOR JESUS, HE DEFEATED DEATH, GREAT FOR JESUS….what about me?
Those who believe in Jesus receive the benefits of Jesus…those who give their allegiance to Jesus get the benefits of Jesus
THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN JESUS RECEIVE THE BENEFITS
One of BENEFITS WE RECEIVE IS LIFE …DEATH HAS LOST IT STING
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live,
I LOVE WHAT D.L. MOODY SAID ABOUT HIS DEATH
Some day you will read in the papers that D.L. Moody of East Northfield, is dead. Don't you believe a word of it! At that moment I shall be more alive than I am now; I shall have gone up higher, that is all, out of this old body into a house that is a immortal body that death cannot touch, that sin cannot taint; a body fashioned like unto His glorious body.
Not only do we receive the GREAT NEWS THAT DEATH HAS BEEN DEFEATED.
ANOTHER GREAT NEWS WE FOR THOSE WHO BELIEVE JESUS THAT YOUR SINS HAVE BEEN PAID FOR….PAID IN FULL….PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE
YOU HAVE BEEN FORGIVEN
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
JESUS TOOK ON YOUR SINS ON THE CROSS AND MADE PAYMENT…MY LIFE FOR YOURS
IT IS THE GREAT EXCHANGE
HIS LIFE FOR OURS
HE LIVED THE LIFE WE SHOULD HAVE LIVED AND DIED THE DEATH WE SHOULD HAVE DIED
WHEN?
WHEN YOU DID GOOD ENOUGH?
I HAVE PAID MY DUES
WHAT’S THE PROBLEM
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
GOOD NEWS GOD DOESN’T WAIT UNTIL YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH
but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
NOW IMAGINE IF JESUS DIE FOR OUR SINS AND RISE WHAT HAPPENS?
DEATH REIGNS
WE ARE DEFEATED
For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures,
that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures,
And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain.
That is mega love
3. No only is death defeated, not only are we forgiven, we are also adopted into the family of God
But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,
who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.
Forgiveness brings us to zero
You move from sinner to a HOLY ONE
You are made new
You are renewed
You are adopted into the family of God
Not only are you forgiven, adopted, you are a royal priesthood
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
That is mega love
This all available to us DEATH DEFEATED, FORGIVENESS, ADOPTION, and ROYALITY and VICTORS many other things if we just believe
because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
And nothing can separate us from His love
It is what He has done not us
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?
Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.
Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?
As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers,
nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
