We almost don't know how to approach Isaiah 54 after spending so much time and Isaiah 53 in really the Pinnacle of looking at the suffering of the servant but we can't stop it Isaiah 53 because if we do then we never get to Isaiah 54 Isaiah 54 opens with a command from the Lord. There are three commands at least in these early versus the Bible says in Isaiah 54 and verse number one. Sing O Barren down that did not bear Break Forth into singing and cry aloud now that it's not Prevail with child for more are the children of the desk. Then the children of the married wife. Saith the Lord enlarge the place of the attempt let them stretch forth. The curtains of the habitations spare not linked and I chords and strengthened eye steaks for Thou shalt Break Forth on the right hand and on the left and I seed shall inherit the Gentiles and make the desolate cities to be inhabited. Fear not for Thou shalt not be ashamed. Neither be thou confound it for Thou shalt not be put to shame without shall forget the shame of the youth and shall not remember the reproach of thy widowhood anymore for that maker is done husband for the Lord of hosts is his name and I Redeemer the Holy One of Israel the god of the whole Earth shall he be called for the Lord has called the as a woman Forsaken and grieving spirit in a wife of Youth when that was refused say it's I got for a small moment. Have I forsaken thee but with great mercies will I gather thee in a little wrath? I hit my face from the for a moment, but with Everlasting kindness will I have mercy on the said the Redeemer? For this is as the Waters of Noah unto me for as I have sworn that the Waters of Noah should know more go over the Earth. So have I sworn that I would not be Roth with the nor rebuke thee.

For the mountains shall depart the hills be removed, but my kindness shall not depart from thee. Neither. Shall the Covenant of my peace be removed. Say if the Lord that has Mercy on the would you pray with me Lord? We need your help this morning to discern this passage of scripture God. I pray that you would help me to remember the things that I've read in the things that I've studied the things that I poured into but Lord, there's nothing more important than your word this morning. God I pray that you would guard my tongue that only that which is said. Would be that what you want said. God I ask that you would give us your grace this morning as we come to this passage we

We need to see your hand in our own lives. And as you gave this message to Israel Lord, may you speak to our hearts this morning? May we be attentive and may you stir those broken chords? May they sing once again as we consider what you've done for us help us War to Rejoice Evermore and will thank you for it in Jesus name. Amen. Amen. Someone once said happiness is an emotion Joy is an attitude. Emotions come and go but attic attitudes come and grow. I don't know who said that but it does make sense to us as Christians. I mean happiness and joy, if I were to survey the room this morning and asked you and take a poll perhaps and say how many of you would say that happiness and joy are synonymous. I didn't get any hands. How many of you if I were to say happiness and joy are will there really something different then you would vote for that and you'd say yeah, I believe there's something different now. I understand none of your voting for anything you like? No, I'm just going to back out of this pull up. I hope that you at least go to the polls and cast your ballot, you know for these next elections coming up if you don't have to vote for my here, but please do your part of the citizen. Amen. I understand if I were to go out into the common market place out here in surveying and maybe do a street corner survey and ask folks who are call them unbelievers. Maybe they don't know the Lord and savior. They don't know this book like you and I do they are not students of the scripture. They're just everyday fokin and it's not just say that there's anything bad about them. They would call themselves may be good people or however, they would Define themselves. We know there's none good. No, not one. That's how the scriptures to find us, but I'm talking about just folks out there living everyday the best they can. Weird to ask them happiness and joy are those anonymous anonymous sometime outside of the walls of the church. There really is no distinction between happiness and joy, not in the world's mine, but we've compartmentalised happiness enjoy together, but I also would challenge you along these lines look back through the corridors of of biblical preaching go look at some of the great preachers of days gone by like Charles Spurgeon Charles Haddon Spurgeon or Jonathan Edwards the great revivalist preacher or some of these other Puritan preachers and I want you two to do your homework and find where they segregated and made a separation between happiness and joy, Don't read their sermons the things that are important for us to get our hands on. I believe now you can correct me if you find someplace where it's actually compartmentalised in their sermons of things, but by and large you're going to find out that the terms really are interchangeable. Happiness and joy, you see the rejoice in comes in our heart when we think about what God's done for us. What has he done for us Isaiah 53 tells us what he's done for us. You see we've just studied about the suffering servant and how he has the Redeemer came to bear the reproach of men and through his stripes. We are healed. There's no surprise that would challenge people in the very next passage to say sing. Rejoice what's your what's your voice be heard with exuberation because of what your Redeemer has done. Are you safe this morning? Then you have a reason to be happy. And you know, we're experiencing a mass Exodus out of the church today by and large from a younger generation and those that are staying in the church or are going a different direction and I think it's partially could be blamed on how we've compartmentalised happiness and enjoy and you know, we can be joyous and we can be Christians, but it doesn't mean we have to necessarily be happy in her life. And so they have this idea in their mind about if I want to be happy then I go to the world if I want to be holy then I go to the church. And it really is a problem that we face today, but I don't think we should separate the two. I think we should have it part of our whole being that if we're truly saved if we realize what Jesus has done for us friend. You ought to be happy now happiness or joy. I'm going to use them synonymously happiness in the Christian Life join. The Christian Life should not be a list of find what it's not, you know, it's not things like walking around with a smile plastered on your face all the time. Pretending like everything's okay when it's not that's not real happiness. You know what that is that's hypocrisy because you're wearing a mask when everything's not okay friend if we are a family we can tell when things are wrong can't we I mean if you have someone that lives with you 24/7, you know when something's bugging them and they can walk in and they think that they you don't have put on a good front and and then maybe they had a horrible day at work. Interosseous day at school they come home and they're trying to keep their shoulders up there trying to keep their attitude. Right, but you can tell the moment they walk in that right? And if we love them, you know we go after them and we don't we pester them until they tell us right. It's like what's going on? You know, I have what day is it something that I did have it what's going on here like to see where a family and if we come in with smiles plastered all over our phase holding our shoulders High when everything's really not okay with his family know that and that does a disservice to our brethren in around us because we're supposed to Bear one another's burdens and if you're going to bear that thing yourself and fake it and get through it and get on in and get on out of here and then go on with your date. That's not that's not what we ought to do friend because the Christian life gets hard sometimes. And we need to Bear one another's burdens. But if we pretend like nothing's wrong and this is not what having an attitude. You know, I like that statement happiness is an emotion that I can I can see where you know, he's coming from emotions come and go. Yes, they do. I feel different in on a daily basis, but attitudes come and grow and attitude. How do we say we look at the scriptures how we Face these things? Billy Sunday said this if you have no joy in your religion, there is a leak in your Christianity somewhere. Wagon, just take that and we'd be done today and that be enough to think on for a month, you know, do I have a leak somewhere in my Christianity? Because I've got no joy of the Bible defines religion for a pure religion and undefiled before God. The father is this to visit the fatherless in the widows to keep himself unspotted from the world. That's a Biblical definition of religion and we get that out of out of pork as in so many ways because you know, we Define religion as our system in the world to finds religion as a way it can work itself back to God as a real really needs to Rejoice that he says sing O Barren that now that did not bear Put yourself in Israel shoes. This is as a woman who who is greeting out in this culture and it is society. This is a great reproach for women. And it still is a heaviness even today but we've got a minimalized it, you know, we've gotten around that and our culture but in this day and time, I just don't know that we can coach really understand how it would feel the way that it felt back then when Isaiah saying sing O Barren dial that does not bear break for send a singing and cry aloud listen with child. Who is it that did the travailing just went through we talked about that word travail in our study before. About the travail of the servant that the suffering that he endured you see Israel hasn't endured this. They haven't gone through they have it prevailed and yet there to Break Forth into singing there to cry aloud. They get the joy for what someone else travailed for.

Someone else did the labor someone else did the work and they get to sing about it. No, that was kind of like me when my first child was born and my second child was born in my third child was born. I didn't do the work I was there and I got my hand squeezed off bad and you know, it's still attached praise the Lord but no, I didn't do the travail, but I got to say I don't know if that does this Justice or not, but it's really should Rejoice no question about it because of what they're suffering servant has made available to them. Because they're going to realize if you go on and look at verses 2 and 3. There's going to be some growth that happens there just going to bust at the seams, but it doesn't stop there. They're going to receive God's prevailing Grace in Verses 4 through 10 where most of my time is probably going to be spent this morning if I can make it there. They're going to get God's grace. Like they've never experienced. Some things that make us sing our Salvation makes us sing Oh, yes. I'm so thankful that heaven is my home that my sins are washed away that that since I met Jesus. Everything is is okay. Now between me and God she know what it didn't stop there because every day since I've been saved I've been growing well, either you're growing or you're not and we grow a little bit at a time, you know little by little inch by inch by the yard. It's hard by the inch. What a cinch one step at a time. We grow we read our Bible. We pray we go to church with you all the things that we know we're supposed to do but somewhere along the way it's not just a religious exercise. We actually connect with God and he speaks to us through his word and the foundation is laid through Jesus Christ in his build on that so it didn't just stop with my salvation. Not only that I can sing and I should sink because God has been merciful to me every day of my life. Even before I was saved since I was saved since I met Jesus God's mercies Heaven new every morning. I have not gotten what I deserved and neither have you God's been so good to us. If you don't have a song in your heart about that and you got something you got a leak somewhere Billy Billy Sunday's head and everybody out here everybody around you knows that you got a leak somewhere. The joy of Jesus the happiness that it is to walk with him. You know, this is what makes the difference between someone who is a dealing with a depilatory debilitating disease and they just have the joy of Jesus all over them and you get around them and you're around them for two seconds and you know and yet you can have someone in the very next room or maybe even just a curtain dividing of dealing with the very same debilitating disease and yet it's a whole different outcome in the bitterness in it. And then and in the you know, the poison just get around them for two seconds and you're like, I don't really want to stay here because the attitude is not I'm not saying that you need to plaster a smile on your face don't misunderstand me things get hard. But when you find someone who truly has happiness in the Lord happiness is to know the Savior living a life in his favor. Having a change in my behavior happiness is the Lord Jesus. He endured the cross despising the shame for the joy that was set before him and if we've lost sight of that we need help. You let the redeemed of the Lord say so the psalmist said let the redeemed of the Lord rejoice in both how they've been saved and and how they're growing now and how Gods bless them and and growth is determined by God. Don't get the wrong definition of growth. Because you'll feel walk away with a misunderstanding of what God never intends and when we were redefine what successes we shoot ourselves in the feet. As Christians know do you know the Lord better today than you did when you got saved? I hope that you do well then that means you've grown a little bit. That means Something's Happened in your life in the grace that God has given to you when we understand the results of what Jesus did the results of our Redemption we can truly be happy about what God is yet to do, you know the best days are yet ahead. And I'm not crazy. I really believe that that we're just getting started not just here in the church with the best days are yet ahead because this world is getting worse and worse and there is a bright day coming. There's a better day coming The Best Is Yet To Come, you know was when I was in college, we had a preacher that stuff in Chapel one time and he use an illustration about about dessert and he said save your fork you ever been to a meal where they say savior for it because The Best Is Yet To Come telling you this morning. Hang on to your fork. Okay. Don't send it off with me The Best Is Yet To Come and God is so good to us. He's so good to us. God wants you to sing about what your Redeemer has done and what he's yet to do as you grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ and it's so what does God expect of our heart attitude this morning of those who are redeemed, you know, temporal wrath is just temporal is only here for a little time. And then it passes God deals with sin. He judges it. He chastens those that are his own he deals with unbelievers in judgment differently, but he chastens his children and that wrath that upsetting that upset since that we get from God that broken Fellowship is only only temporal but his mercy and what a picture of a true father or a true parent a true Guardian because as children, we would pour Our Lives into children and they do something that they know is wrong. I mean, they just step over the line. No question about it. The command is clear that the penalty is clearly stated and they say I don't care what happens I'm going to do it they step over the line and it and it just hurts us. It breaks us as parents maybe even it was something that angered us because they know they're not supposed to do this and it hurt somebody else in the process. And so we get a little righteously indignant towards that but that passes See that goes away and there is restoration. There's restitution, you know, the chastening comes in the normal process of discipline that you know, as a parent could take anywhere from 10 minutes to 2 hours depends. I mean, you know parenting is hard and I can't tell you that number times. I've been on my way out the door and just had to hit the brakes and say, you know what my family is more important right now while I'm not going anywhere until this is settled and you can't stop until there's restoration until there's restitution until everything is right, and I've tried so hard and to make sure that my children never leave with the sense that dad still mad at me or dad still upset or whatever. No. No we get right. That's the way it ought to be with us in God God chastens us. He disciplines us along the way but then he wraps his loving arms around us and says, it's all right. Now we can move on. Let's put this behind us. It's under the blood forgotten. Not remember no more as far as the East is from the West. Hey, we have a new day before us. Let's go out. Let's put this behind us and let's Rejoice together. Let's not let this burn us down. We need to be right with God Amen. We need to rejoice and what he's done. What does God expect of a hard attitude rejoicing over his continued growth in his grace because he gives us more than we ever deserve and we grow as we spend time doing what God what honors gotten what we know we got to do. So, how's your heart today?

For your Redemption toward What the Lord Has Done For You are you truly rejoicing are you truly happy? Are you truly joyous and how the Lord is growing you whatever that may look like. It may look like trials and they look like testings. It may look like fiery furnaces. It may look like burning off of the drawers. It may look like some things that are not very pleasant to look at. But if you're suffering and it's for righteousness sake and you can truly count your blessings and if you're being persecuted for righteousness, Jesus said rejoice and be exceeding glad for great is your reward in heaven for so persecuted the prophets which were before you see this is the course of of of History. Are you rejoicing and how the Lord's growing your are you rejoicing and how the Lord has graced you so we look at Isaiah 54 follow along with me. And burst. Number one. The first thing that we notice is the reverberation and everything is on ours today. And if you find a different word that you want to put in there that works for your great. This is just a what came to me as I was studying and how it all laid out. So I hopefully will help you. Remember. I'm not a stickler on alliteration. I'm not trying to bend the text so that I can get the right r word in here. No, I think these words actually help us understand a little better and it'll help me wrap my mind around remembering where I'm going to go with this passage reverberation the singing that breaks fourth, the redeemed of God are to Rejoice read it. Give me their inverse number one sing O Barren doubt that did not bear we mention that this is like Sarah of old, you know, these are like women who couldn't bear children and God bless them and they were able to Sarah lekha Rebecca like Hannah who prayed in Florida under women gave her Samuel and she gave Samuel back to the Lord in the New Testament ladies like Elizabeth Esperion and could not bear and God visited her in hurt in her elderly agent and open up her room and she was able to Rejoice with a child whose name was the Messiah and and and pave the way for the Lord see this is the heart that Isaiah says we need to have we need to sing because if you've ever been Barren, you know what it's like to be dry. You know what it's like to feel those hurts to break for you to cry aloud. Now that this not travail with trout with child. This is something that when it happens you can't hold it in. And I think about Peter and John as they were brought in for preaching Jesus and they were persecuted by the religious leaders and their words back to them where we can't but help speak the things we've seen and heard I can't help but talk about the things that Jesus has done for me. I can't explain it all and I shouldn't try to because I'll never figure everything out about God, but I should try to grow of the redeemed of God are to Rejoice from more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife says the Lord and I think about Sarah in particular, I think about Hagar Sarah and Hagar how many how many offspring how many how many seed if you will use the Bible word see how much seed does Sarah have compared to how much seed Hagar has See, that's the picture here that the seed of of the children of the desolate, you know, Sarah was desolate there more than the children of the married wife. Saith the Lord. Are we were Joy seeing all we breaking forth into singing? Nope, we are me we can make applications to this when we sing the hymns, you know, we need to put her heart into it part of the reason. I think the hams are dying off in our culture and Christianity by and large and people are going after a different type of music is because they find something that connects and reverberates deep in their soul. And the music's wrong philosophically the music is is of the world and their tampering with the things of the world and they're taking in their collar and spiritual things but it is broken at the foundation. You see the message is Central. Let me give you a little bit about singing here. If I couldn't use this to help help us understand our philosophy of music. Singing is comes from the gift of music music is a gift of God. You believe that that God created. Music Here's Where the breakdown happens? Music was originally overseen in the courts of Heaven by one of the three archangels that we read about in the scriptures. You know who that was there three archangels. Yeah. The Archangel of words is Gabriel became delivered the messages to Daniel enter to marry and he's the one that delivers the messages. He's the Archangel of words. They have Michael who's the Archangel of wars and you see him disputing with the devil over the body of Moses and he says the Lord rebuke thee so he's the Archangel of War General over the the Lord's army in that sense. But there was a third Archangel his name is Lucifer and he's the Archangel of worship and go read Ezekiel 28 about his tabrets in his pipes. And if there's anyone who knows Music Inside and Out music, that's the gift from God. It's it's Lucifer. He's the Archangel of worship and he gets everything out of out of whack because remember his goal is to steal. Lori from God his his goal is to detract away from the Lord and put that on himself. Cuz he wants that worship. I will be my like the most high Isaiah 14 tells us his motives and is lifted up in Pride. Says we think about this battleground of music today. This is I'm just telling you this is this is a huge Battle Ground for the church. It is and the pressure is on I'm telling you. I mean that every time I turn around I'm read another article about well, if we would just you know cave in here if we would just compromise on our music than we could we can fill the pews we can have, you know, all kinds of people in why are these arguments out there because music is so powerful music is is given to us to produce a response. It does that you can't listen to music that moves you your music that you like without noticing.

You know, it's going to happen and that's for the reserved, you know, Melancholy, you know, you got a little toe going nobody knows it's there but that tows going in your shoe. And you're like, yeah, I can feel the temple there and you got to you got that that movement that comes from the music is broken down into three basic parts, and I don't want to turn this into a lecture on music but you've got Melody Harmony Inn in Rhythm. Those three elements make up what we call music. & the message is what should move us to Purity in our hearts Adoration of what God does for us now. I just pulled down Cinco years of Music philosophy in one sentence for you right there Purity in our worship comes from the knowledge of the message that we are trying to get across the message of the hymn the great hymns of the faith. Those messages are doctrinally sound unless you get a broken him and then we don't sing those we leave those out of our hymnals and we don't use that's why you're a Broomfield Baptist Church. I personally think it's important. We sing all the verses.

Because many times there's a verse that if we skip over we missed the truth and we missed the message. But what is the devil want to do, you know the Archangel of worship who's been demoted now, he takes this to love music and he uses it to provide everything in any way that he can drown out the message. Then he's got one up on us. So, you know letsa let me make a lot of enemies here for a moment. If I could, you know, it's not just talking about CCM as a movement. I'm talking about the entertainment industry that makes big bucks on selling Christian records and it's all driven by money. That is contemporary Christian. Music. That is CCM. Okay. Are there good songs that are contemporary? Ohyeah. There's people that are riding songs today that are good solid spiritual songs, they're good solid hymns and just because they're contemporary doesn't mean they're wrong. They're just knew in the sense that they haven't been produced before. So I'm not against contemporary Christian music as in new Christian music, but hey, why are you going to weed through all the garbage? Why are you going to go in this illustration was give it to me one time about music from a dear friend of mine in the ministry and he put it this way. He said I look through. all the dirty soiled laundry He's comparing it to music know. Why are you going to go pilfer through the trash of the world in order to find one good shirt, you know, it's like walking into your closet and pulling out, you know, a piece of laundry and smell it snippet it is it's okay. Is that smell can you put it? No, I better not do that one is this one's kind of wrinkled and and maybe if I just throw an iron-on, it'll be a bit since you haven't washed it. You don't know if it's really you go through all this when you don't right behind if you just turn around you've got a whole closet full of songs full of shirts him full of clothes that you can wear that are cleaned and pressed their tried-and-true. They stood the test of time you don't spend your time weeding through the trash at this world when you got so much good stuff to steal your heart on. She's all about our Waters. If the devil can't round out the message that he's got one up on us and he does that through elevating of Harmony. No, this is where we got to be careful with the southern gospel entertainment industry is Southern Gospel if you're out where it's split and there's good southern gospel and there's worldly southern gospel. Are you with me and the worldly southern gospel has the same philosophy about music as the CCM movement does they want your wallet? They want your money. They want you to buy the tickets. They want you to buy the records and buy the albums because it makes big bucks and they're turning a profit doing it. You know, there's some good southern gospel after that people love the Lord and they're good solid gospel songs. I'm giving you you know, you teach a man to our you give a man a fish you feed him for a day you teach him to fish you feed him for a lifetime. I'm trying to feed you for a lifetime here. Okay, because I don't want to just give you the fish. I want to show you where the good stuff is. So the harmony, you know, southern gospel entertainment industry is big on Harmony and they drowned out the message with the harmony sounds great, but I've no idea what they're saying. And we can apply this to all kinds of other music in the world. They drowned a can understand what they're saying. It's not clear the messages and clear because the message is where the truth is in the truth is what sets us free. We got that nail down, but the other thing that can drown it out. It's the Rhythm. And this is one of the biggest emphasis because the Rhythm drives are carnality the Rhythm we feel it we want it. And can I tell you can I just be frank with you? Some of the places that you can go today and it's called worship. You spend 25 30 35 40 minutes getting pumped up. That's what they're doing to you. They're pumping you up take the emotional response you get from a meeting like that. And go down to the nearest sports arena and let him pump you up down there for about the same amount of time and tell me the difference in how you feel. Are you with me? The emotion has overpowered the the truth and it and it's in pure it. It's it's been tainted at that point C. Our job is not to drive some kind of emotional response. But you know how many people would come and sit in a meeting like this with you and I here assembled together and leave and say, you know, I really don't feel like I worship God today. Did you hear the problem right away? I don't I don't feel like I worshipped. If it's about feeling friend, we got the cart before the horse. Well enough of that that's a side side notes for you to take with you but it comes right here from singing from the heart when you understand the truth of what God has done for you. You are going to break forth in song like you've never done before I can't sing. Maybe you'd say I can't sing. I don't believe you because there's a song in your soul somewhere and you may have a hard time, you know, musically, you might not be trained in music and know where the notes are supposed to fall or where the timing supposed to happen and happen in all those scientific things about you know, the theory of Music befriend a we sing by the letter open up and let her fly a man that said that you are choir you just you just need to say about what God's done for you Amazing Grace how sweet the sound that saved a Wretch like Me I once was lost but now I'm found was blind but now I see no the songs that we sing have a message to them and that Message takes priority over the Rhythm and over the harmony we can we can harmonize and it sounds great. But when you put all of them together, that's when we make music to the Lord and we become God's choir and congregational singing congregational singing can be some of the most powerful singing on the planet. And if you've ever been in a meeting where they're raising the roof with congregational singing It's a Godly you can understand what they're singing. You got the words right there before you and the song Booker on a screen perhaps however you want to do it. But the message is clear the harmony is beautiful because you got all these people that are singing Parts together and it's like this choruses choir with that just I'm telling you I've been in I've been in congregational meetings like that where we haven't even gotten up to preach yet. And we've already had the Lord meet with us in our singing time. And if we could just pack it up and go home. Are you rejoicing are you singing or are you coming in? Well, let's get the order service over with let's go through these hands and and then we'll sing these songs we can get to the preaching part. I hope not the reverberation does the truth of God reverberate through your soul and through your heart sing O Barren now that that's not fair. Do you understand what the Lord has done for you? The redeemed of the of the redeemed of the Lord are to say so and we do that through song and then the realization verse number to Israel will one day realize the promise that Jehovah made to Abraham. In fullness through the growth within the boundaries of the promised land. Look at verse number two with me. It says enlarge the place that I can let them stretch forth the curtains of that habitations spare not LinkedIn that chords strengthen eye steaks for thou shall Break Forth on the right hand on the left and I seed shall inherit the Gentiles and make the desolate cities to be inhabited. What are we looking at here? What are we seeing in these verses will I read some commentaries and I understand where they're coming from, but I don't know that they were exactly on base because they made a comment about and Isaiah's day people lived in tents. I started thinking and I said will Isaiah historically was prophesying in the days when use iodide that's after Solomon. That's after they had already settled in the land that watering in the wilderness anymore. I say is not preaching to people who are running around living in little Tabernacles. I mean David wanted to build God a house so it was permanent and got to do it. So I understand where he's coming from but I think it misses the point here to say that know they were living in tents in in and Isaiah's day and that's why that's why he's talking about the timer don't know I think we need to go back further than that. Remember the days when Israel first came out of Egypt And they were wandering around in the wilderness. No God dwell with them. He tabernacled with them and Tabernacle in is such a key terms write the scriptures the Lord Jesus Tabernacle with us when he took upon flesh in and we beheld his glory the glory as of the only begotten son of the father full of grace and truth Welty Tabernacle in to draw this image reminds I about these tents in this Tabernacle in God says, hey, we're going back to where it all started. We're going back to when I saved you that we're going back to when you turned your heart and disability belief against me and you had to wander in the wilderness, but I kept you your shoes didn't wear out your clothes were on your back. You were fed you had everything you needed. And then I took the generation after you to the ones who would go in and face who would honor my word. I took them into the land, but you know what when they went into the land. I've said this before they didn't realize all of it. Do you know how much land God promised Israel originally back in Deuteronomy? A lot. Yeah, it was like from the Euphrates river to the Nile, you know North I mean is 300,000 miles 300,000 miles, you know how much of it they realized when they went in.

30 30000 out of 300,000 So what what I say is saying here is that because of what the Redeemer has done and paying a price for your sending your transgression you can sing because you're going to you're going to realize the truth and you're going to rejoiced but you're also going to grow that which I promised is going to happen. You're going to break for that. We're Break Forth has the idea of busting at the seams. You ever been busting at the seams. You don't have to answer that question. But I've eaten a few meals Warehouse feel like I'm busting at the seams, you know, like I'm just waiting for the button to go poop up and there they go and moving them out because they're not going to be able to contain the growth in this is looking forward to a time when Jesus Christ has come and he has planted his feet on the Mount of Olives. He is ruling and reigning with a rod of iron from the Throne of David and the land is going to just explode with population. Everybody's going to want to be there. I don't want to be there and I'm going to be there you going to be there? Hell, yeah, I don't know if I'm going to have to die to get there first or if the Lord's going to take me on the Rapture, but I'm going to be there a man see they're going to break forth and everybody's going to want to to come in and fellowship in their tent Israel's going to realize the promise that Jehovah had made Abraham all those years ago, and they're going to realize it in the fullness through the growth that God is going to bless them with in the land of promise. No, Isaias tell him this and this is thousands and thousands and thousands of years before it's ever going to happen. You think Israel might be getting a little tired by now. I think I would be. Does that mean that God's word has failed that God is not keeping his promise Oh, no, just keep your eyes on the Middle East. That's where everything is going to happen. And God's promises as Shore today as it's ever been the reverberation to singing out of the Redemption that comes through Zion through the Lord's servant who who is our Messiah? No question about it, the realization of the promises of God that which is fully realize how do we apply that to ourselves today? You know, this is talking directly about Israel in the growth that she experiences, but, you know, we are to experience growth in our life to let me make a little application there when you are singing Because you been saved and you're spending time where you ought to be friend, you're going to grow you're going to move the stakes of your taint. You're going to have to you're going to have to go out. You're going to be expanding. It's just going to happen. It's a natural product talking about numbers. I'm talking about just genuine growth in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. We need to Define gross. The way God does are we spiritual the way God wants us to be spiritual all those things. There's going to be renewal. I told you I'd spend most time here. I'm going to break the lease vs down. Even further Verses 4 through 10. Israel's going to have their courage renewed through God's mercies toward them. Look at verse number for know the third command here. The first command is inverse. Number one. What is it is saying ovarian the second command is enlarged ready for growth because you're not to be able to contain this you got to you got to be prepared. If you want the Lord to grow you give me in the place where that can happen and then the third command he says fear not for Thou shalt not be ashamed the the language that is given to appear this passage sounds so synonymous to what God was telling them when they were originally going into the land go back and read Joshua. He says fear not be you're not going to be dismayed you're not going to be confounded is the word Isaiah uses, but there's so many things that he's pulling from Israel. Straight to get them to think. Hey, we're just on the on the brink of God doing something great here. We're going to go in and he's going to be with us. We're finally going to realize all that we limited got him before going to happen What a Beautiful truth in scripture. Israel's going to have their courage renewed through relief verse number for fear. Not for Thou shalt not be ashamed. Neither be thou confounded for Thou shalt not be put to shame for Thou shalt forget the shame of the youth and Shout not remember the reproach of that widowhood anymore. Hey that reproaches falling away and look at the words here. It says Thou shalt not be ashamed. That shalt not neither should be though confound it. That shall not be put to shame - out forget the shame of the youth shall not remember the rip roach five times. We have synonymous ideas. Every one of these words are different in the Hebrew language, even the two words that are translated and spelled the same way in English shame there different in Hebrew. But the sense is here because they are all synonymous. You're not going to be ashamed you're going to be able to lift up your head in the whole world is going to look to you is real. You're not going to be confounded right now. You're going I don't know which way is up in this. I'm so confused. You see we're double-minded. We're unstable in all our ways was his real double-minded. Oh, yeah, they were double-minded because God was not their first and foremost. They had gone after other gods and they had violated his command. The very first communicate their heart wasn't solely sold out on God. They were double-minded that a double standard that they have set for themselves. Oh, yeah. We're the exception to the rule rebellious. Pride is what it is Val shalt not be ashamed. Hey, the day is coming when you're going to realize that God is who is your number one now, you're not going to be ashamed world's going to look to you that you will not be put to shame. You see when they went after other gods just like the cycle of the judges they wound up in persecution. It went up in depression. They went up in prison. They cried out to the Lord the Lord sent to deliver and then he deliver them out of all their troubles in their back of the top and and they're doing okay and they forget God and then they go after sin and then God sends judgment and they fall into the hands of the Nations around them know who's had his eyes put out and he's he's between two pillars in the Philistines crying out one last time for God to empower him and he kills more people in his debt than he did in his life. So I got to be confounded like We put the shame anymore because Jesus Christ it will be ruling with a rod of iron and there will be no room for dissension against God. It's just going to be as the Prince of Peace rules that shout forget the shame of that youth and it's going to be like it never even happened to them. They're going to remember it no more those days those days. Those are gone forever. Hey, that's a comfort to me to think that whatever I go through here. You know Paul said it hasn't even entered into her heart and mind the thing this God the things that God has prepared for them that love him all the trials. It's just going to seem like nothing when we get there in the light of Eternity all the things that we go through here. That's just an encouragement to read to remember a God's in control Johnson Control and it's not over yet when we get there. We're going to look back and go. Oh, yeah. I remember all that disease, you know down there. I remember all that's in Our member all the trials I went was nothing compared to this time. It was just a moment just a moment. It was temporal. But this is forever. This will never go away now shall forget the shame about youth not remember the reproach of that widowhood. Anymore, he goes on to talk about the relief the reproaches Forgotten but then inverse number 5. There's restoration read it with me here in verse number 5 6-4 that maker is Saint husband. The Lord of hosts is his name died Redeemer the Holy One of Israel the god of the whole Earth shall he be called? So it says for die maker capital M maker who made Israel God and who is he to Israel? He is a quart of this verse 9. Husband say that word with me. He is Israel's husband. He just invoked terminology Isaiah did that's going to draw their mind to a place where they mean. They know the law. They know the book of Moses. They know that the details about marriage given from the garden is God's as you know, we cannot relationship without him and die maker is done husband. now if the makers done husband You read the passages here, please. You've got to hold on to this distinction because Israel is talked about as an adulterous wife.

Who went after in departed from her husband the Lord Jehovah and she sinned against him. She violated their relationship when she did that the church on the other hand is not talked about like some adulterous wife that has to be restored Hosea and Gomer the church is talked about as a chaste virgin. The church is the bride of Christ. But Israel is the husband of Jehovah. You need to keep those Concepts distinct in your mind because the church has not replaced his real the church is a chaste virgin the eyes of the Lord because the Jesus loved the church and gave himself for it. He died for the church and he's going to present it spotless. The church is father's Israel can't say that Israel is not spotless Israel has gone after others and now God says it's going to be okay. I want you to do this. I want you to go back to look at this return your nose going to be restoration. The relationship is going to be restored and this is how it look. Like and let's go to the law of Moses the restoration happens this way through the return Israel is going to return to her first love. This is her husband and verse number 6. We read it follow along with me for the Lord. That's Jehovah's all caps right for Jehovah has called the as a woman Forsaken and grievance. Notice the word forsaken read and spirit a wife of use when that was refused says that God. I want you to turn over to Deuteronomy chapter number 24, hang on with me. I think this is going to be just powerful when you make the connection like I did Deuteronomy chapter 24

Let's look at what the law of Moses says about the bill of divorcement.

The Bible says in Deuteronomy 24 verse number one when a man has taken a wife and married her and it come to pass that she find no favor in his eyes because hit because he has found some uncleanness in her then let him write her a bill of divorcement and giving her hand and send her out of his house. And when she is departed out of his house. She may going to be another man's wife and if the latter husband hate her and write her a bill of divorcement given in her hand and send it to her out of his house or if the latter husband died, which took her to be his wife watch worse number for her former husband. Which sent her away may not take her again to be his wife. After that. She is defiled for that is abomination before the Lord Thou shalt not cause the land to send which the Lord thy God give us the foreign inheritance.

I think about that. The illustration is Israel in Jehovah their marry their one. And Israel, sins and commits adultery against her husband Jehovah according to the law. The the husband was free to give a bill of divorcement. Send her out. That's what you want you go. She was free then to go and be another man's wife. But here's the question that I had answered. It is real consummate the marriage with the foreign gods or was it just an adulterous sinful relationship when you answer that question, you'll understand how the Lord even according to his own word is able then to bring is real back and say let's renew this relationship. She she never consummated the marriage with the with the Pagan Idols Israel. Didn't she never married them? She just went in and did Wicked things with them. And see this is where Hosea chapter number 2 and the illustration between Homer Gomer and Hosea coming to play cuz this is how the Lord is able to do. This is real departed from God and he's the faithful husband and yet he says I'm going to redeem you back. He goes into the marketplace to slave the slave market place that that Israel's been sold into any says I'll pay the price for I'll buy her back and he can take her now because she never consummated that other relationship. She can go back to the former husband and they can have their relationship restored. I mean my mind was just swimming theologically through all this going. How do I make my way out of this? So there's God divorced there and now they're going to get married again and then and then, you know all the all the papers. I wrote on divorce and remarriage and Seminary start coming back to me and then all this topic of and I don't mean to debate, you know, divorce and remarriage, but I'm just showing you what the Bible says because it's such a beautiful picture, you know, we do the same thing to God and we go away from him. And God forbid if we ever going Mary the world because we may not be able to ever be back where we were before. I'm not I'm not losing salvation or anything like that. Don't misunderstand me, but our relationship will never be the same. See, this is foundational. Hosea chapter 2 go over and read it. I don't have time to read it. But Hosea chapter 2 is a good place to go and compare about how Israel's going to be brought back. She's going to return to her first love, you know, that has forgotten the first love. I mean he loved her with everlasting love. And she did what she did to him. Israel did turned her back there going to be a regathering, you know, as we continue on the thought what's this renewal going to look like there's going to be relief there's going to be restoration verse number 5. There's going to be a returning she's going to go back to her former and in the relationships going to be everything that that it should ever have been and there's going to be a regathering Israel is no more forsaken because God's Wrath is past no, please hang on because I I cannot leave this passage and not deal with this thought cuz this is one that was was something I had to work through my heart and mind the regathering. Look at verse number 7. If you would it says for a small moment, have I forsaken thee?

best past tense That means the forsaking already happened. How many of you were having problems with that statement right now like I was God just said that he would forsake Israel note. I didn't say he would forsake. He said I did I've already forsaken you. Wait a minute. I can't be. I thought God would never leave us nor forsake us you are correct. The guy just said he did forsake Israel. You are correct. How can that be? All right. I'm glad you asked. Deuteronomy chapter 31 you see how much we're going to Deuteronomy? You see how much this is a backdrop? And if you don't know your Bible, if you don't know the law of God, then you're not going to understand fully what Isaiah is prophesying to Israel. It helps our understanding Deuteronomy 31 just a handful of versus God says for a small moment. Have I forsaken thee but with great mercies will I gather the sea it's just temporal The Forsaken but but the the Gathering is going to be Eternal. It's going to last forever in a little wrath. I hid my face hold on to that phrase hit my face back from thee for a moment, but with Everlasting kindness will I have mercy on the same the Lord thy Redeemer the regathering that happens because of this and Deuteronomy chapter 31, I've given you time to turn over there. Let me catch up with you.

I want you to look at bursts number 33 verse number 6 Deuteronomy 31 verse number 6 for second-time be strong and of a good courage. What is that sound? Like that sounds like the opening passages of Joshua. They're going into the land right that's context. They're about to go in and Conquer and then the land of the inhabitants of the land we driven out before them. He says be strong and of a good courage fear not same words from Isaiah nor be afraid of them for the Lord. Thy God. That's Jehovah that I tell him he it is that does go with the he will not fail thee nor forsake thee. Just said he wouldn't forsake them. Right. Okay. Look at verse number 8 and the Lord he it is that does go before thee he will be with thee. He will not fail the neither forsake the fear not neither be dismayed don't be confounded got going to go with you in this battle. You're going to conquer the land. He's not going to leave you to fight these enemies yourself now look ahead if you would have number 16 the Lord said unto Moses. Behold Thou shalt sleep with our fathers and this people will rise up and go whoring after other gods of the strangers of the land. Where did they go to be among them and will what's the next word forsake me and break my Covenant which I have made with them. Fast forward through Israel's history did that happen? They went in the land did God forsake them as they went in Concord. No, he went with them the whole way and he fought their battles for them except for AI when they stumbled along the way they had sin in the camp and they dealt with that they moved on but they conquered the land didn't realize all over but they did conquer the land and God didn't leave them. He was right there with them and then they got tired of they said we want a king like all the other nations and got so that's what you want. That's what you're going to get in. They raised up in the race of salt and gave him a king after their own heart and then stall turned out to be corrupt and wasn't so good to them. Like they thought he was going to be go figure world leaders can do that. Yeah, they can make promises. They don't intend to keep

Can I say that out loud is this being recorded? I'm sorry anyway. I said no names. So you think what you want about whoever God gave him David a man after his own heart and then under David and Solomon's Reign he put their Kingdom at rest from all their enemies roundabout. Did God forsake them and what he said he would do when he said he wouldn't know he fulfilled his word to the letter also notice that back in versus 6 and 8. God did not say to them that he would never forsake them. He didn't and vote the absolute there. No, he said he would not forsake them. He didn't say he would never forsake. He said he would not forsake them. There's a big difference in any husband-and-wife relationship. They know there's a big difference when you start invoking absolutes not means a big world of difference the Never Are you with me? If you say never then it better to be never you never did. Never okay. Now you're with me. You better not do that. That's different. Isn't it? Not as different from never and there's a reason for that. All right. We're in verse number 16. Keep going and looking for number 17. Then we'll win after they forsake the Lord after they go whoring after other gods after they turn their back on him. Then my anger shall be kindled against them. Who the church no, no, no, no, no.

Israel not the church is anger is kindled against Israel in that day. And I will what's the next word forsake them? He just said he would forsake them. He said he wouldn't forsake them now. He says over when this happens. I will forsake them don't misunderstand. He says I will forsake them and I will hide my face same words Isaiah uses about God forsaking and hiding his face from them. And of course, it's the same word for forsaken Psalm 22 my God my God, why hast Thou forsaken me and we could go into the debate there. I don't have time for they shall be devoured many evils and trouble shall befall them. Yep, check it off the list check it off the list so that they will say in that day or not. These evils come upon us because our God is not among us and I will surely hide my face in that day for all the evils which they shall have wrought in that they are turned on to other guy.

so as we think back and Isaiah the regathering that will happen c-list fast forward a little bit more with this idea about God forsaking his people. The church is not Israel. We've established that fact. God said that he would not forsake them when they went into the land to conquer but then after they got there and got established they would forsake Him and then he would forsake them so that they could pay for their sins and realize what they done to him. And here Isaiah says, you know all that's been fulfilled and got to the place now where he says are you done in the world yet? Have you had enough? Are you ready to return? Here he is and one day they will return to their redeemer and they will realize that Jesus who they slew on Calvary is the Messiah that God had sent to free them and redeem them and pay for their sins Jesus. Is there Hosea? Joshua God save Jehovah saved Hosea, Jesus Joshua synonymous all the same word Jesus is there Hosea and Israel is the Gomer and he redeem them back from corruption Hebrews 13:8 though. That's the verse that we quote and it does invoke the absolute. And it also in the same context as Jesus Christ the same yesterday today and forever and you read in Hebrews 13:8. He says, this is after Calvary after the cross after sin has been paid for after Redemption has been one after all of these glorious true that we sing about Rejoice over on how God grows us after all of this. He says I will never leave thee nor forsake thee. That's a truth we can claim. And it does no Injustice 2 Deuteronomy, the one we take and get things out of context. We have a lot of issues that we have to work through about how God could turn his back on someone will God turn his back on you as a Believer is a new testament Christian know he will not he will never turns out. He said low I'm with you all the way there was a Chinese Chinese man that got saved and his name was low and every time he would read that verse in Matthew 28. It says low I'm with you I just seen Jesus is with me right there low. I Am With You Always even unto the always even unto the end of the world. I mean what a beautiful picture the representation inverse number 9. I've got to wrap this up so I can finish here as the Waters of Noah. What a picture for as I have sworn that the Waters of Noah should know more go over the Earth. So have I swore that I would not be wroth with the Nora Beauty. See all that's past of the wrath of God is a swage that Calvary when Jesus died for sin and took care of the wrath of God and the token is the symbol. What was the symbol to know? What was the token to know? It was the bow that was sent. Can I see those beautiful double and triple rainbows here in Colorado that reminds us of God's grace that he'll never flood the Earth again. Hey since been paid for Israel, and then the same type of illustration is invoked as he makes his coming at this is a new covenant that he makes that will never go away. This is a sign this is a token under them that the circumcision of the heart God sees in the relationship is it is made and Charles Spurgeon. He he called this the time and hinges he had a whole message and Title Nine and hinges that he preached to hinges and soda water bottles to know what they were having an innocent man turn as a marinara never have never been loving all of the Earth again who sings he's never had ever happened what they would have used my charger. Dime Diamond headache make you spell Stripes Forever by Zayn and Sia and then the remaining remaining on this on this one is talking about him behind your highness that had access head of the nurse nurse. God the goodness here. That's kind of time do the mountains farting on your Visa says, that's why he said Heaven and Earth shall pass, but my word shall not pass. Volkswagen Woods that only Revelation gives us details on mountains departing away the hills being removed and yet the love and the kindness of God never leaves us and his mercy endureth forever and have a whole song that reverberates back and forth with his mercy endureth forever his mercy endureth forever his mercy endureth forever. His wrath is but for a moment and that seven years will be a blink the seven years of Great Tribulation that will come upon this Earth. It will be just a blink in the moment of Eternity. And God will have purged this old Earth of all sin when the mountains depart and this whole earth is judged and everything's made new and you and I are going to be walking down the streets of Glory singing together Alas and Did My Savior Bleed and did my sovereign die. Would he devote his sacred head at the cross at the cross where I first saw the light? Burden of my soul was rolled away.

And now I am
