So far in our series Audacious Faith, we looked at what audacious faith is and we also looked at the first point in the series, Love Fearlessly. Today we are going to look at Live Uncommonly. The word uncommonly means: in an uncommon or unusual manner or degree: exceptionally; outstandingly.
It is not following the crowd and living as part of the status quo.
So let’s take a look today at living uncommonly!
Isaiah 44:6–8 (NASB95)
6“Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: ‘I am the first and I am the last, And there is no God besides Me.
7‘Who is like Me? Let him proclaim and declare it; Yes, let him recount it to Me in order, From the time that I established the ancient nation. And let them declare to them the things that are coming And the events that are going to take place.
8‘Do not tremble and do not be afraid; Have I not long since announced it to you and declared it? And you are My witnesses. Is there any God besides Me, Or is there any other Rock? I know of none.’ ”
1 Corinthians 8:6 “6 But for us, There is one God, the Father, by whom all things were created, and for whom we live. And there is one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things were created, and through whom we live.”

We Have an Uncommon God!

There is no god liike our God! There is no one that can do what our God can do. He is the Alpha and the Omega. He is the beginning and the end. Whats does Genesis 1:1 “1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” In the beginning the only thing that existed already was God. We also see this in John 1:1 “1 In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.” There was no other god there in the beginning but our God. There is only one God, one Jesus, sand one Holy Spirit and yet they are three persons in one. One God, Three Persons our God is definitely uncommon!
Deuteronomy 7:6 NKJV
6 “For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth.
1 Peter 2:9–12 NKJV
9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. 11 Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul, 12 having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation.

Because of Jesus, We are Uncommon People!

Look at these scriptures which define who we are as believers. We are a holy people, a royal priesthood, a chosen generation, in a nutshell, we are uncommon folk. Now I know in the natural we may feel that we are just common folk. We may not be from a earthly royal family or billionaire status, however, in the spiritual realm, which is really the true realm, we are royalty and we belong to the family of Almighty God! We are uncommon people who live uncommonly!
1 Peter 1:17–19 NIV
17 Since you call on a Father who judges each person’s work impartially, live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear. 18 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.
Titus 2:11–14 NKJV
11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.

We Must Leave the Old Life and Live Uncommonly!

We don’t long for the “good old days” because we are new creations! We are no longer living the old life. We must deny the world’s way and cling to God and live soberly and righteously. 2 Corinthians 6:17 (NKJV)
17Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.”
Let’s not do things the world’s way. Let purpose to live uncommonly!
