Not James, that's James 1st Peter chapter 1 complete.

Welcome to church the Messiah. I'm Rob Wilson. I'm a teaching Elder here

I haven't been teaching a lot in the last. Couple years too much but I do teach occasionally and I really value it. I've been teaching for a while here. And before I was an elder I was teaching also so years ago James step down from teaching and the elders asked me to pick it up. And so I did. And I don't have the clicker.

Welcome. We're glad you're here. Service has already begun. This is a bad slide.

1st Peter

I'll explain why they're handing that out in a minute.

Before before I do that, I thought that I might wave a Bible today. So I picked this up in the back of the church and I live through it. And this card was in there.

I am here as a youth. Being a prayer Warrior for God.

I think I think the next words are met my adult vision be revealed.

So I don't know who wrote this. But I'll be praying for this person from now on.

Wow. I thought what a great thing to come across today. So the 1st Peter and 2nd Peter is not a very big book. I printed it out entirely on one sheet of paper. One sheet of paper and it's readable on one sheet of paper in your folded up with a few folded up like this. You can put 1st and 2nd Peter in your front pocket and carry it around with you all over the place when we were in Saudi Arabia. We we had daily word the prayer thing the ship to us and we handed them out to Filipino Believers in a various of various numbers of groups. We didn't have a whole lot of them. They really like them and they had a full-time Xerox operation in a villa to Xerox machines running all the time copying daily bread and a loose leaf Bible. If you've ever seen a loose leaf Bible. Stop this thick when it's printed out. It's pretty pretty thick pretty heavy pretty hard and cumbersome. You have a loose leaf page today. If you can imagine one that's sick. That's what they were printing. But whenever we were out in Saudi Arabia shopping or anyting I'd notice Filipinos who were in the area and they'd have a piece of paper in their back pocket. Usually if there were a guy and invariably it was a copy of the daily worth it brought the Saudi Arabia amazing how a little bit of gospel is distributed throughout the world. First Peter is kind of that thing. It's a really small compact little book to but Walter books are kind of ticket has one letter, but we're going there first Peter first cuz it's first. This is a map of the general area where we're talkin about basically turkey.

Here's another picture of a Caesar Paul's void missions. You can see the Paul pretty much saturated most of the turkey except for kind of the north. And this is Peter's Journeys that were talking about today. And we we talked about this already but it's written to the Exiles in pontus. Galatia, Cappadocia Asia and bithynia and it's believed that these this is the order of travel. A lot of Scholars have asked the question. Is he listing the most important first and the least important last know almost certainly. This is the order of Paul or Peter and or silas's travels and if you can if you'd map Peter and Paul together you get a complete coverage of this entire area.

Antioch here Right here. This is where Paul had his first big mission to Gentiles and Peter went to Antioch and live there with the that Community for a while and established a church. He kind of built out a cave as a church and a people went to attack them. They could go out the back end of the church through the mountain and get away. It's a beautiful place Antioch. Peter didn't spend a lot of time will I don't know how long you spent there. He spent maybe a lot of time there. I don't know but the two of them together pretty much saturated this this region. Peter first of the Jews pulse of the Gentiles this is something we often hear and so it's amazing how much controversy there is over who Peter wrote to some people say he definitely wrote only the Gentiles and other people say he definitely wrote only to the Aspera Jews and they don't agree and they can argue very forcefully with each other and I think they're kind of wrong. I do. Okay Peters Outreach was primarily to the ass Bridge use. I don't have a problem with that. He writes to the to the people in the DS for the Exiles in the diaspora of pontus etcetera. But he also had Gentile Believers and their communities so Peters also writing to those guys but he's maybe not primarily writing to those guys and Paul was definitely out reaching to the Gentiles, but they also had the espera Jews in those communities. So they're both kind of writing to the same people but people's kind of Peter to Peter is kind of emphasizing the diaspora Jews that he that he taught at Pentecost in Acts 2 and Paul is first of all, probably reaching out to the Gentiles who haven't received Jesus yet.

Who first had Outreach to the Gentiles Peter or Paul? Peter now, we know Paul's the Outreach to the Gentiles but Peter went to Cornelius house. The only reason he went there is God told him to But so he was the first one but that wasn't his is his main emphasis. He was following Jesus and Jesus said first to the Jews, you know, so that's what they did for over 20 years and Council had met when Peter is writing this letter for over 20 years, maybe 25, maybe more years Peter and Paul had been an agreement. Because the Jerusalem Council they're the ones that are you today Jerusalem Council with the Gentiles would be required to do for over 20 years. They have known of each other's work and they talked and they met and they discuss things to some degree and I think they're both completely aware. They're both spreading the gospel. And that's the best I can give you on my assessment of what they're doing. 1st Peter today is going to be a little bit unusual my presentation methods going to be pretty different than it usually is usually I synopsize at large amount of texts and try to say it in a clear way that people can understand. I think there's a benefit to that sometimes, but when I tried to synopsize Peter every time I tried to come up with a presentation method the present Peter I realized I can't do better than Peter. He he is dense. He's sick. He's got a lot of stuff in here. And if I try to summarize it, I'm doing a disservice to the text. So today we're going to go through the whole chapter of 1st Peter. I don't have a copy. Do we have any spares left?

This we're going through the whole first chapter Peter and I have these funky squiggly Marks here. Those are the major sections and so you can kind of follow along. I also have different color slides so that kind of fits together. What? Also, we have a microphone floating and if anyone has questions or things during the teaching will be able to hear what you're saying and not have me repeat. What someone is saying? Peter this is 1st Peter 11 Peter an apostle of Jesus Christ. That's an amazing thing. We talked about that a lot the first first time to those who are the elect Exiles electives, you know what Electra means the chosen Exile Z's those who have been Exile they're not in their home place in this of the dispersion in pontus. Galatia, Cappadocia, Asian and bitney. So we've talked about that also that we are again. According to the foreknowledge of God the father in The sanctification of the spirit for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood May Grace and peace be multiplied to you. So he's writing to the Exiles. And he's saying it's according to God's awareness of what's important and he's writing this in the sanctification of the spirit for obedience to help them to be obedient to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood. So God is sprinkling them with his blood and we may not like to be sprinkled with blood today if I wanted to become a member of Jesus movement. or Gods movement at the mountain at Sinai and I was a leader in that group. The sign of the Covenant is I would have been sprinkled with blood. So blood is important in the cultural history of this entire story and it still remains important. The blood of Christ is very important.

This slide talks about the Father the spirit and Jesus Christ and no one and no no no modern theologians would say this doesn't have anything to do with the trinity. They would say something going on here. It isn't that the doctrine of the Trinity was formally established. It's been formally established and I've taught him that before one God 3. I don't want to say Parts cuz that's a heresy. I don't want to say, you know, when I say want to say anything. I'm possibly committing heresy. One. God Jesus God the father and the spirit are all. God but they're not one. There is a distinction there is Unity yet distinction when a kid ask me. Did God die on the cross. I say no Jesus the man died on the cross. He had set aside his divinity and he picked it up again. God did not die on the cross. And any other similar argument that's pretty much my response. There's a Unity but distinction. with me If you want to talk about it for hours, I don't have a problem. Anyone who knows me knows that?

May Grace and peace be multiplied to you Trinity. So I'm I didn't put up the Orthodox vision of the Trinity this week. I thought this would be the best one. This is my absolute favorite picture of the Trinity. It was done by Andrei rublev or Ruby Ave in about 1411 and it's called for a cot or Trinity in Russian. It's also known as the Angels at mom Ray. It's also known as the hospitality of Abraham and if you look at the images there they they have wings. So this looks like angels. With wings and they all have the identical same face. Which is expressive of the idea that there's one God they have different things going on. You can see that they all have blue. See the blue sea the blue sea the blue they all have blue which is an a symbol of royalty. That's pretty clear. This one has green which is a symbol of nature. This one has brown, which is a symbol of the Earth or the man Adam meaning red Brown and this one has a translucent garb. Which one do you think represents Jesus?

The one in the brown why?

Cuz he's a man. He came to Earth as a man. He was incarnate as a man. Which one do you think the green represents?

Huh? God the Father clothes

They're all one. So you're probably not wrong. It's generally taken that the green represents nature. So that is the spirit which can be visually seen in nature and its translucent fabric. Is God the Father cuz sometimes you can figure out what's going on and sometimes you can't. He kind of is invisible. God hides himself in hiding it said and what's significant about the blue on Jesus here?

Is very important?

He took it off. He took his divinity off. And set it aside. It's the outer garment. It's not the inner garment. The father it's the inner garment the spirit. It's the inner garment.

Philippians says he took it off. He set aside his divinity. So I think Rubio's Rubio's rublev had a good understanding. I love this. I love this painting. In 2022, we had a really unusual thing happened which caused a huge fuhrer and the Eastern church leaders. Anyone remember what happened?

Really? Really? I'm amazed. What's the guy's name in Russia? Putin Putin decided to take this out of a very protected environment in the museum and give it back to the church. So it could be installed back in the church and some people thought that was a great thing because Putin was giving this wonderful religious article back to the church and some received it that way and some received it like he's trying to destroy because we'll be open to the public. this

without price painting. I don't know. I see both sides, but that's a fact that happened in the in the in the modern world 2022. Where's our home? Where's your home? anybody I'm guard B A Germany. So that you might say Macedonia. Huh?

Mexico my wife might see Mexico. Mexico I haven't got the wrong place.

the Holy Land

Yeah. Yeah, yeah.

Yeah, I used to say this jelly that I like is important from the Holy Land Western, Maryland, so

in 2024 this year the United Nation recognizes 195 Nation. No. No, the UN recognize is 193 Nations plus two the two are Vatican City and Palestine. They don't recognize those but they recognize them they just don't call them a nation. So they're about 195 Nations. We could have an argument on that cuz nevermind we have no permanent home here, but we can look forward to the one to come Hebrews. God said to Abraham your Offspring will be sojourners Gare strangers in a while and it's not theirs and servants their slaves Genesis 15 to the elect the Aspera. spread out through the world exile's Peter temporary resident sojourners in 1st Peter 2 causing power only has power occurs and power up the demos different words

sojourners and Exiles temporary residents and people who aren't in their home who have been dispersed somewhere else. This brings up an idea David Emanuel talk here. He's taught on this subject many times called The Exodus Motif. He thinks the whole Bible can be summarized with the Exodus Motif were with God or exiled from God. God brings us back or with God where exiled from God. We were first with God in the garden got exiled them. Then we were back with gods and then God exiled them to Egypt then they were with God and then got exiled them to babble and then they were with God. They were exiled the worst place of being an exile is in the country. That is your country. But it's not your country.

Does anyone relate to this idea of being exiled here in this world? I do. We're exile's we're temporary residence. This is not our home. two words galoot the gala so The Oxford dictionary the Christian Church says that the Hebrew word the Aspera is either Gala or Gala galoot. Galoot or gave you lots both the aspirin means both dilute or go law. Galoot or Gala. It's both both mean Diaz, bro. The Roots if you take the ID of a three-letter Hebrew root, which is one of the scholarly beliefs and how Hebrew came to be is they have the same exact route Exile and Redemption got a lot of same exact route to uncover make naked reveal. It could be a good thing or a bad thing. Which which side of the coin are you looking at kind of Exile and Redemption always play with each other and David Emanuel did a great teaching on that. I think three sermons on it. They're recorded on the Church website. One thing that happens when I go home the Western Maryland, I still kind of call that home. Although it's not my home almost invariably at least years ago. Someone would say you're not from around here. Are you talk like us and you don't seem like you're one of us. I said, well I went to Allegheny high school. We have conversation. They still don't believe them for around there were temporary residence. Even when I go home. I'm a temporary resident strangers foreigners in this world the spirit of God walks with us and leads us to go to places that he shows us we attempt to walk according to his instruction and is leading he's called us to live here with one foot in this world and one in his kingdom this phrase. I don't have a good origin of this quote, but

I've heard it from several. senior people who have share these words with me. I walk with one foot in this world and one foot in the next. Michael so we may have a question. We need a microphone for the microphone guy.

The questions will take longer cuz I really want people to hear what they are.

Hold it close to your mouth. Just a comment. And that is the early founder of Christianity. One of them was Bishop cyprian and he wrote that the home of the atmosphere. The True Believers is Paradise. He said that is our home country the place. Jesus went to immediately following his crucifixion. So our home would be paradise according to Bishop cyprian. And so that's maybe why we feel exiled here because we have for tasted Paradise. write my own my own view is the

caught up Rapture when it happens, I'll be raptured up in the clouds and I'll be taken into Jerusalem and that'll be paradise.

I don't think I'm going to get a harp and play in the clouds.

Knife on that if you want to hear about what I think about Paradise, I have a lot to say about it. Another thing you can ask me if you have lots of time.

Not from around here. He is with us. He will never leave us nor forsake us. We can be confident of his presents and his promises even while we are here in this life and on this Earth and when I think about one foot in this world and one foot in the next I also think no, I'm already walking in the next It's just not fully yet. The next it is the next but there'll be a lot more to come. my own View

So now we're in the first the second part were below this line right here. Now if you want to take notes on this, you're welcome to or if you have questions Circle words, whatever you want to do blessed be the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ. According to his great Mercy. He has caused us to be born again to a Living Hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. I think this term Born Again doesn't mean just the world to come. I think I'm born again in this world. I'm renewed in this world. I'm alive with the spirit of God in Me In This World. I don't think it has to wait on anyting. I do believe in Pie in the Sky when you died, but I think it's way more than that. I have pie now.

God is good. He let it break in to my life. And I'm very blessed because of that. To an inheritance that is imperishable undefiled and unfading whatever it is. He's giving me is imperishable undefiled and unfading if you feel whatever it is in you is fading you're not sensing whatever it is in you you're focusing on something other than what God is doing in your life. If you're focusing on what God is doing in your life and it's at all good and I can't imagine it not being good. It's imperishable undefiled and unfading. Try to beat that with your words Rob. I can't.

You could by God's power being guarded through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. I don't think Peter is actually sing that you got to wait for the Salvation. You have the salvation, but it's lots more to come. That's what I think. He's really saying, I can't believe it's like wait around for it.

Lupe

what am I you got to listen for the microphone?

Is it it's true faith for a Salvation? We have to count on that face make sense because I think the face can get tested and I think the reason the face gets tested is for maturity for his purposes this face for salvation ready to be revealed. Its there's a need for that faith, and that's somehow Something we need to grow in. Do you know what the word for faith is in Hebrew?

Mbuna, have you ever used the word emunah? or any variant of it

amen Amen is the Hebrew word from the word emunah meaning faith. And it means surely my own understanding of emunah is it's the soul in English. We have a distinction between faith and faithfulness. Do you know faith is something we have in US? It isn't something we think about having it's something we're given faith is something we're given and faithfulness is our acting out of that Faith, but I don't think it's possible to act out that face on my own will I think I have to have God acting in me for any faithfulness to come out of me. So Hebrew There's no distinction between faith and faithfulness. They're all part of the same thing. Yes, we have to have faith. We have to exercise Faith. But the only faith we have is God's faith in us and when I say Amen, I am always thinking. God will make it so or God is faithful. I don't just say amen. Amen is a Hebrew word translated intact into the Greek doesn't change a bit translated intact into the English doesn't change a bit except you might say Amen or a main but it's the same exact word. Did that help? Okay Faith for the Salvation you're being guarded through faith who's faith? God's faith you're being guarded by his faith. He's faithful you're being guarded for that for a Salvation right to be revealed revealed. Not newly-revealed. You already have it, but you will have more of it. To be revealed in the last time when it's revealed to yoga. Oh, wow. I thought I had salvation before I thought I was saved before and you'll go I didn't have a clue about how great this was going to be when you get there. That's my view we can argue if you want. I don't.

In this you rejoice do for a little while if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials now, I do not like if necessary, I would like this truck from my Bible.

I would I really would and I thought why is this even there?

Well, it's a fact I'm going to go through some difficult times. We just had a birth in our congregation. That was a difficult time.

Mariah is incredibly joyous about it now. But it wasn't easy. It was a trial. That she's incredibly grateful for. I think that's the meaning of if necessary. I can't explain it any other way. I could I could I could actually talk about this for several hours, but

I think it's an important word. That Peter is put here.

Anyone know what this is a rock, right?

Huh?

No, it's actually gold. There's gold in that there Rock.

Now to get the gold out of that rock is not that easy in this Rock by itself might not be worth that much. But you have to do a lot of things to The Rock in order to get the gold out. First of all, you need to crush it and grind it up into little pieces and then you need to do other things. I'm not going to get into that whole process. It's crazy. I'm not going to get into that whole process. All we know is the final step is this

and the gold is purified to a higher level of Purity by this method. So that the genuine genuine so that the tested tested this is this is testing. So that the test ingenuous genuineness of your faith more your faith. Your faith is more precious than gold that perishes gold parishes. I haven't heard that all I've heard is invest in gold. It doesn't Parish it perishes.

More precious than gold your faith is more precious than gold. It doesn't Parish. It's immutable etcetera. It's there. It's not going away. Your faith is something you have you can't get rid of it. I are came out of surgery when they found tumor on my right rib and remove part of the rib, and I was really suffering in the Intensive Care really suffering and I on the bed let go of my faith.

I gave it up.

It forced itself back on me. I actually emotionally spiritually let-go sent it away my face. I don't know how I did that. I was, you know, very Stoned on the drugs. They're giving me but

But I actually gave it away and it forced itself back and I knew I knew I knew he was with me there in that terrible place. And I was so grateful that he forced himself back on me. Once you have it, you can't lose it.

. And it's more precious than gold. Gold perishes though it's tested by far. It may be found to result in praise and glory and honor our faith will result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Anyone know what this is called? kids story

this is a rock with gold in it.

This is a rock with gold in it.

This rock they have to get it out of it. This rock they use the gold to fix a cracked pot. One of my best analogies for my life here as a human being on this Earth is I'm a split wineskin and a cracked pot. And God fills the cracks with gold. Or he pours his living water through this crackpot and the water flows out to the world. And and makes things live. I like both analogies. I'm a crackpot. You can actually quote me on that. Rob said he's a crock pot.

Do you have not seen him you love him? Do you not not do you do not now see him you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with Glory. Would you say that the joy you have is inexpressible and filled with Glory?

When you're worshipping here on Saturday morning, would you say your joy is inexpressible and filled with Glory?

If it's not it's on you.

It's not on whoever's up here doing anything else inexpressible and filled with Glory that joy that should be in you is is real. It's Immutable it's unchangeable. It's eternal.

Peter's hard No. Obtaining the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls concerning the Salvation the prophets who prophesied about the grace that was to be yours searched and inquired carefully. Inquiring what person or time the spirit of Christ in them? The spirit of Christ was in the prophets? Instructing them about what the right down. The spirit of Christ was in the prophets indicating what what time or person the spirit of Christ in them was indicating when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the subsequent glories of Christ. It was revealed to them the profits that they were serving not themselves, but you

the beginning of the book of Isaiah

It's not written in here, but it is.

This is a letter from Isaiah to you.

It's not just the Bible. It's a personal letter. Jeremiah A letter from Jeremiah to you. God is constructing Jeremiah to write this letter to you. This is what Peter saying. It's not just scripture. So let her personal letter and hear Peter is writing a personal letter about all these personal letters to all these people who include us. That's a good thing to read Peter. to you

in the things that you have now been announced to you through those who preach the good news to you by the Holy Spirit Sent From Heaven things into which Angels long to look Angels. Wish they had what you have. They don't have it.

We have access New Testament verse to the very thoughts of God.

We have to rely on the holy spirit in Us in order to have any experience of that access, but we have accessed the Angels don't have this.

They wish they did. There for preparing your minds for action and being sober minded set your hope fully on the grace. That would be brought to you at the Revel of revelation of Jesus Christ. What should you do? You should be obedient children don't be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance. So some people say this is a verse that insists that Peter is writing at the Gentiles because the Jews didn't have former ignorance. It's got to be gentle Pig and Chris who became Christians that that had former ignorance and I thought have you ever been in a seder meal?

My father was a wandering eramian.

Who made Pagan idols? Get a grip. It can't make these gross assumptions because you think a word means a particular thing. You need. You need to ask yourself about the whole Bible. When you study the whole Bible you get an understanding this isn't just Gentile Believers. This is the Aspera Believers. Also Mike has another question where is quickly? Yes, you have to wait for the microphone. I have to wait. I have to wait you have to wait.

Are leaving Tammy asked a question give it a couple seconds before you take him to microphone.

Well, this will just take a second and that scripture is my people perish for lack of knowledge my people perish for ignorance. And that was a verse that I think it's Isaiah and isn't that a reference to being ignorant? Don't know I made my might be too ignorant. Okay. Well, thank you for that answer.

Rob said he was a crackpot and he's also ignorant.

But as he who called you is Holy you also shall be holy and all your conduct set aside different from the people around you set aside to God dedicated to God recognizing his presents and you recognizing the leading the spirit in you.

Holy and when you recognize his presence in you you act somewhat differently. One thing that I shared with my wife repeatedly this last year is he's in the room with us. We don't have to do anything about it. We don't have to serve in tea or cinnamon. Whatever. We just have to realize he's here.

If you realize he's here.

Sometimes you ask him for help.

Sometimes you're just overwhelmed with joy.

I think that's part of what this is about.

And if you call on him as father who judges impartially according to each one's Deeds conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your Exile. This word fear is a confusing word when we read it. We think it means be afraid it doesn't mean be afraid.

In either Greek or Hebrew? In Greek, it's Phobos. And you can remember many words. He has a phobia about this fear fear of heights. Anything phobia. You are a is the Hebrew word a both of them have to do with fear. But also with

also with respect also with the idea of worship if you're having a really good worship experience. Sometimes you get goosebumps.

And your hair is go.

They stand on end. That's what this word means something that causes your hair to stand on end. Yeah fear can do that reverence can do that worship can do that hair standing on end. If you wonder where this quote came from about hair standing on end and literature was first seen in the Shakespeare's Macbeth. Something that would cause fear and one of the things was to cause your hair to stand on end. Shakespeare had a good idea of what it meant to be that kind of afraid. Knowing that you were Ransom from the feudal ways inherited from your forefathers. Again. This is used to say this is the Jews or I mean the Gentiles and I don't know no not with perishable things such as silver gold futile ways inherited from your Grant or from your forefathers is fading. It's going away. It's not something it's permanent.

Silver and gold are perishable things.

You were Ransom from the funeral at funeral at those are gone silver and gold is gone. What remains God God God. But with the precious blood of Christ like that of a lamb without blemish or spot he was four known before the foundation of the world that was made manifest in the last times for your sake. Jesus was made manifest for your sake. The prophets were written for your sake the prophecies were written for your sake. The Bible was written for your sake. Jesus was made manifest for your sake everything in the Bible was made for your sake. And its prominent imperishable. Before the world's Foundation, he was four known before the foundation of the world. Peter believes. Jesus was for known before the foundation of the world anyone else believe that Yes, if you don't you can look at all he chose us in him before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless John our names according to John are written in the Lamb's Book of Life. The lamb was slain before the world's Foundation. Even Christ's sacrifice and some cents John believes occurred before the foundation of the world. Jesus knew before anything was made and through him all things were made. He knew before anything was made. He would die a sacrificial death.

for you

and me

your name's been written in the Lamb's Book of Life. In the beginning was the word John continues in a different book and the Word was with God and the Word was with God and was God all things were made through him. John Paul and Ringo no

Peter John and Paul all believed in this Jesus was formed before the world's Foundation is sacrifice before the world's Foundation. We were chosen and some since before the world's Foundation. Who threw him are believers in God who raised him from the dead and gave him glory so that your Faith and Hope are in God your faith and your hope two different things. We talked about Faith and Hope.

Tikvah Is the Hebrew word for for hope? tykwer comes from the word kava kava

Is a Plumb line? Or a measuring line Plumb line or a measuring line. It's a it's a line line has no Dimension. It's a straight line. You got it. Okay, the geometry class here now is a twisting of things like lines like a rope is a twisted from many strands is a rope stronger than a string.

Yes. Tikvah need a I need a mic for a Ridah.

Nope, nope, nope. Nope, nope. Nope.

Nope. Nope.

I got to throw these Tikvah ASA clearly a pumpkin imagine that pumpkin which is a long line with wine. That's the word Zengo give you a ticket and mustard on yourself. I love it. So there are a couple versus God pulls you forward with chords of love.

You're being pulled forward to wear to him. He's done lassoed you. And he's pulling you forward that is what hope means to me with the Hebrew nuances and it's not a simple string. It's the Rope.

Having purified your souls by The Obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love love one another earnestly from a pure heart. This is the message. He's telling us to love one another earnestly if we're not loving one another earnestly. We need to check something out. We're not walking according to what I think he's leading us to do. Since you have been born again. Not just in the world to come but today not a perishables perishable seed but of him perishable through the living and abiding word of God. For All Flesh is like grass and all its Glory like the flower of grass the grass withers and the flower Falls, but the word of the Lord remains forever and this word is the good news that was preached to you. So I'm getting a little bit older. I'm 73. I'm realizing I'm not 20 anymore and overtime. I'll be kind of disappearing.

Fading my influence here my the importance of my teaching. Some degrees fading. That's okay. All I'm responsible for is doing what God wants me to do and try to try to do it honorably and that's what I'm trying to do.

But it's fading. That's okay part of life.

conclusions I have two conclusions. Will this is actually one conclusion two pages one conclusion. Okay, it says conclusions. I'm tripping all over myself as temporary residence here. God wants walks with us showing us where to go and what to do as anyone ever had the experience of knowing that God was taking you somewhere telling you where to go what to do.

Did you like where he wanted to go?

Not always sometimes it seemed like a discontinuity.

Sometimes when God moves you from one place to another he he he wants you to move for one reason or another it's it's part of what he does.

If you want to know what God's will is in your life try something. Start doing it. He'll change your bath sometimes. Sometimes he redirect you to a new A New Path. That's okay need to go. Okay God. Are you in this? If you're in this then okay, if you're not in this then take me where you want me to be. It's important to do this. God walks with us showing us where to go and what to do with the walk according to his leading an instruction one foot here and one foot in his kingdom or both feet in his kingdom. Yes. Peter now has a question and a microphone. I was just going to share a comment this actually this week. I was thinking about that concept called Divine agency. Are you familiar with that concept? So basically there's different interpretations of what that means. But that's the way I understand it. You can maybe correct it but I think it fits exactly what you're saying with what you're saying that God has an objective involved with our lives and He also gives us holy spirit understand that and when we start doing what God wants us to do. We're in harmony with God then there is that but if we're not doing that that he intervenes to guide us onto the right path and that's under the sum of the theologians of that especially the Reformation. Call that Divine agency and the illustration they give his reading Genesis 12 that the Holy Spirit hovered over the waters and he was like the Divine agent like the the agent that God had sent to realize creation. Anyways. I was just thinking it sounds exactly like what you're talk but I think of correct, is that correct? One thing that happens with God's leading sometimes two people are in agreement on where God is having them go. And sometimes God takes them in different directions that seems ridiculous. As God would separate something. He was already doing and he takes them in different directions and and it's only years later that the two people realize that they both needed to go in those two directions in order to get the one that God wanted them to be. And they come back together and unity, but the vision that they have experience is way bigger than what either of them thought it was in the beginning. So make sense. Yes, Joshua. Thank you Eileen. So when you were saying if you want to know what God has you do just do something see if that changes you the thought that came to mind as it's easier to steer a moving object. Exactly. I'd rather you be hot or cold and if he if you're moving then he can flip you. If you're on the wrong way, wherever you're moving he can judge you. It's easier to push.

Okay. He's with that where my at lady one foot both both feet in the Kingdom. He's with us and will never leave us. We must be confident of his presents his promises and is leading in this life. And on this Earth. They're not your a same word. So he says that you should fear. And not fear at the same word and this is not a disagreement with each other.

You should not be fearful know that he's with you in order that you will fear Revere him appropriately are a couple of verses where it says Don't Fear so you will fear.

True don't have the verses his kingdom is already broken in and is already with us with much more to come any questions real quick. We got to go eat. I'm late.

Nope, okay. Holy God, we thank you for guiding this this meeting this discussion to study.

Help us to hear what Peter's writing. He wrote to us just like the prophets wrote to us for our good and we know that you've given them that instruction in order that we would receive it. Where are good and we pray for your presence in us? And we ask your blessing as we go forth from this place. May we bless our families our neighborhoods this body? As we move forward and attempt to do what you were asking us to do in Jesus name. Amen. And amen.
