Tonight’s question is probably, the most interesting question yet. Here it is:
“Considering today’s congressional hearings on UFO sightings: How do we dismiss evidence? Genesis 1:1 is clear, but is there more?”
What a really good question, now let’s have a word of prayer and go home! No, let’s start by looking at what the Bible says regarding life:
Genesis 1:1 (KJV 1900)
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
The word “heaven” in the KJV has the meaning of “heavens”, plural. Nearly every other translation translates it thus, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth”. That is not to say the KJV translators got it wrong, rather these translators were so well versed in the original languages that they felt it common knowledge in 1611 that everyone would understand this word to be in the plural.
That being said, as we have discussed several times there are three heavens mentioned in Scripture, the atmospheric heavens, the stellar heavens, and God’s dwelling place. Obviously Genesis 1:1 explains that God created all three of these. Tonight’s question is focused on the second heaven or the stellar heavens, what we call space.
We know that God created it, on day four he created the sun, moon, and stars - Genesis 1:14-19
14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.
19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
The Bible doesn’t say this, but it is evident that God created the planets as well. The Bible doesn’t say this, but we know from space exploration and deep space telescopes, that there are more planets in the universe than just the nine in our solar system. The existence of these planets has driven many over the years to assume that, by sheer law of probability there MUST be a planet or more that can sustain and contain life.
Beginning in 2017, and continuing through 2021, the US government has released footage from several Naval vessels along with other sources of what they are calling “confirmed UAP (Unidentified Areal Phenomenons). Now I have to admit that I have always been a fan of SciFi and Fantasy stories. Every movie/show involving extraterrestrial life being confirmed on earth…it was a big deal. It made the news, every broadcast. It was published world-wide. There were gatherings of people to welcome our “visitors”. We’re not seeing this. It appears that people are still very skeptical of the so-called evidence.
The question asked tonight is, “How do we dismiss the evidence?” I would suggest we ask “What evidence?”

2017, this was picking up steam, but had not reached critical mass yet.
The first time I heard about it was in the summer of 2020, what was happening in 2020?
COVID lock downs.
Either COVID was a distraction from what was happening, or, more likely, the UFO evidence was intended to be a distraction from what the government was doing.

In my lifetime I cannot think of a single time the government has ever lied to me.

A recurring theme was “experts have verified the footage and confirmed it is not doctored”
Our society has been conditioned to never question an expert.
There was a time when the news questioned everything.
They would air “experts” on both sides equally
They would conclude with “Here is the evidence, now you decide”
We are not told to question them anymore. We’re told - “The experts have spoken. You must listen.
My favorite scene in the Wizard of Oz is when Toto pulls back the curtain on the wizard.
Once you see the man, you know everything else is just a show.
Let’s frame the next questions through this filter...

17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
Colossians is very clear that all life is created by God. While the Bible never mentions - that is confirms nor denies - the existence of life outside of earth, it does tell us that God is responsible for the creation of all things. By default this would have to include life, if it exists, on other planets.
Don’t you find it funny that people who deny the existence of God, the intelligent designer of the universe, are so quick to accept the possibility of the existence of intelligent life in space?
What does the Bible say about intelligent life from space? Or a possible invasion of earth from space?

We have been looking at the creation of the angels, which includes the fallen angels that have rebelled in heaven and entered earth to cause problems here. Revelation 12:7-12
7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
This event is in the future I know, but their evil presence is already in the world. Ephesians 6:10-13
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
If I am Satan, if I knew my time was limited, I would do anything in my power to convince the world that A. I do not exist, and B. I would convince everyone to look elsewhere for answers to why/how we got to be here. If that included looking to space, then so be it.
Now, I know this doesn’t answer the question regarding Congressional hearings and video evidence, but who put the thought there to begin with if not Satan? Not only that read what Paul says in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12.
A world that is ready to accept the existence of aliens is a world ready to accept the sudden, unexplainable disappearance of millions of people (believers) when the rapture happens. How many movie/shows have been made about “alien abduction” or alien involvement in human disappearance?
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
The word “delusion” means “fraudulent” Talk about “Fake News”!

The Bible speaks of an “invasion” from space with the angelic host. God is going to send a strong delusion in the future to confuse many as to the disappearance of every single Christian. I have said publically from this pulpit, and will continue to say, that there are no “signs” pointing for the rapture, but if the rapture was getting nearer, and I wanted to convince a great part of the world that there is a logical explanation for the disappearance of several million people, an alien invasion or mass abduction is feasible.
