Today is the first service of our new church plant!
We call it a church plant because we are putting roots into Khokana to remain as long as God’s grace allows us
We do not take this lightly but realize the weight and responsibility that God has given us in his Scriptures
Today, I would like to share with you why we are starting this new church in Kathmandu, Nepal where many churches have been started.
We know that we are not the first church in Khokana, Dobato and we will certainly not be the last
So why are we starting Grace Baptist Church?
1 Timothy 3:15-16 How do we act in and with our Church

Not to be seen of men but to serve the living God

This church is not to be a place to build any man’s name or to please any man’s desires
We do not come to church to hear a man-centered religion
Anything man-centered will lead to destruction (Philippians 3:17-20)
Any true, biblical church belongs to the living God
We all must stand before him and give an answer
This church will not be a place of preference and respect to those who have more but a place for all humble sinners to come and worship the God of all the universe (1 Timothy 6:17-19)

Not as competition of other churches but as a support

By establishing another church we encourage other churches
This is a pillar and foundation- that which supports a building going higher and higher
In any building, the more pillars you place the stronger the building will be
By establishing another church we help safeguard the truth of the scriptures
We are placing a stake in the ground that the Word of God is truth and all must turn to Christ
The Word of God and the truths that it holds does not belong to any one group but is given freely to all born-again believers to read, understand, apply and preach
Any “church” that withholds the truth from you is not a church but a false-teacher of a cult
We all make up the church and have been committed the Word of God (Ephesians 2:21-22)

Not to keep all the blessing of God to ourselves but to preach the gospel to the world

This is not a social club for christians
We have a command from Christ before his assension to go into all the world and preach the gospel (Matthew 28:19-20)
God has been manifested so that all may see and know that he is God (John 1:9-14)
We have been given the ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:17-21)
We have been made into new creatures into the household of God
We are ambassadors for Christ. We are in Christ’s stead reconciling the world to God
Christ has assended and we remain to preach the truth
This church is to be a lighthouse in a dark world bringing people to Christ (The purpose of light is to shine)
