The False and Weak Interpretations of the Sadducees (vs. 18-23)
The Sadducees rejected the Rabbinic oral traditions that the Pharisees followed.
However, their own rejection of tradition became their tradition.
We all have a tradition/culture/worldview, we should be aware of that and examine it in light of scripture.
I ask you, how wheel have you examined your own traditions and beliefs in light of scripture.
How can you do this? Humility, listen to others, and listen to church history.
This strict literalism lead them to false beliefs and a weak view of God. (Acts 23:8)
8 For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, nor angel, nor spirit, but the Pharisees acknowledge them all.
Instead of harmonizing the scripture, they allowed their interpretation to not be questioned.

The True and Powerful Interpretation of Jesus (vs. 24-27)
Jesus recognized God’s Word as true and powerful because God is true and powerful.
Notice that Jesus addressed the Sadducees lack of knowledge of the scriptures even though they prided themselves on this.
We can only have as much faith and true love for God as we have knowledge of him.
He also recognized a difference between this world and the one to come.
We will not be angels, but we will have an exists that is similar to them.
Eternal and no need for marriage
There will be no need for sun, moon, or stars.
There will be no more pain, death, or suffering.
Jesus had theological positions based upon a single word.
Study your bible thoroughly with attention to the words and tenses of verbs.
Put your faith in God and His Word. He is trustworthy and powerful enough to save you!
Response
Repent of your sins and put your faith in Jesus Christ because he has demonstrated himself to be trustworthy.
Grow your faith and trust in God through faithful study of His Word.
Examine your traditions and study habits to continue to conform your views to scripture.
