There Moses will once again receive instructions & information from the Lord.
And so far in Ch. 34 we have looked at:
The Command of the Lord Vs. 1-4: Starting over, Moses the mediator.
The Nature of the Lord Vs. 5-9: The Revealing and the Response.
The Renewal of the Covenant by the Lord Vs. 10-28: God Does the Work - Separation - Jealousy - Festivals.

2. Current Study’s Overview

That brings us to our study for today, here in Vs. 29-35 dealing with The Afterglow from the Lord. READ…
As you can see in our quick reading of todays scripture, it is an unusual event, where Moses’ face was glowing as he descended from the mountain of God and the presence of the Lord.
BUT! Is it really unusual? Is it unusual for one to glow, to shine, when one spends time with the LORD?
If you are taking notes we want to look at 1 things today…

1. The Afterglow from the Lord Vs. 29-35

It was clear that Moses had been with the Lord… because Moses reflected the glory of the Lord…
APPLICATION: You can always tell the person who has been with Jesus…
Acts 4:13 NKJV
13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.
Those who have been with Jesus have a glow… a shine… a light…
Matthew 5:14 NKJV
14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
So why did Moses cover up that light… why did he put a veil over his face…
So the people wouldn’t see the glory of the Lord fading or passing away…
Turn to… Because Paul gives us information regarding this, that is not given here in Ex.34:… read.
2 Corinthians 3:7–18 “7 But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away, 8 how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious? 9 For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory. 10 For even what was made glorious had no glory in this respect, because of the glory that excels. 11 For if what is passing away was glorious, what remains is much more glorious. 12 Therefore, since we have such hope, we use great boldness of speech—13 unlike Moses, who put a veil over his face so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the end of what was passing away. 14 But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ. 15 But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies …”
Hebrews 8:13 NKJV
13 In that He says, “A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.
Hebrews 10:9 NKJV
9 then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God.” He takes away the first that He may establish the second.
APPLICATION: We, like the law are glorious… but we are being transformed to become more glorious… in and through Christ Jesus our Lord… as we become the Reflection of God’s Glory…
1 John 3:1–3 NKJV
1 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. 2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 3 And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
It’s no wonder Jesus said in……
Matthew 5:16 NKJV
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
