Abundant Worth

1 O Lord, you have searched me and known me! 2 You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. 3 You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. 4 Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether. 5 You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it. 7 Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence? 8 If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there! 9 If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, 10 even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me. 11 If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light about me be night,” 12 even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is bright as the day, for darkness is as light with you. 13 For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.

1) God Knows You Fully! (v. 1-6)

God knows you better than you know you.

God doesn’t just know you from a distance or as an acquaintance (v.1)

God doesn’t just know you from some encounters here or there (v.2)

Though this may be how we know Him.

God doesn’t just know you from the impressions you give…He also knows the thoughts that you have (v.2)

God knows your habits, mannerisms, and all the methods to your madness. (v.3)

He knows what you’re going to say before you know what you’re going to say. (v.4)

He even knows what’s in your head right now as you’re either hearing this for the first time or being reminded of it for the first time in a while. (v. 6)

With God knowing all of this…He is in front of you and behind you and has His righteous hand upon you!

God knows you and desires blessing upon you. He loves you and values you. He knows the truth about what you were made for and reality of who you were truly meant to be.

We feel worthless when we all we settle for and think about are the failures, shortcomings, and darkness in our lives.

When all we listen to are the lies and accusations of Satan (the accuser), we fail to see how God really sees us and hear His call of grace and redemption.

While you may fail to recognize your worth, Nothing diminishes God’s knowledge.

2) Nothing Diminishes God’s Knowledge! (v. 7-12)

No distance or darkness can diminish God’s knowing you!

No matter where you are in this life, God is present and aware. (v.7)

In your highest moments…God is there! And in your lowest lows…God is there! (v.8)

No matter where you find yourself, God is still close to you. (v. 9-10)

Even if you are in a deep darkness and seeking to hide…He sees as though you were surrounded by a million radiant lights. (v. 11-12)

There is nothing you can do to keep God from knowing the real you…even the you that you don’t know.

3) You Are Wonderfully Made and Loved! (v. 13-16)

God knows you so well because He made you and designed you intentionally and purposefully.

He made you from the very beginning. (v.13)

His act of your existence is praise worthy because it is an intentional and thoughtful act of purpose (v.14)

He designed you intentionally in your mother’s womb. (v.15)

It is mother…not birthing person.

Only mommas can house the work of God in progress in creation…not daddys. We play a part but it ain’t that part.

Just need to clear that up. There seems to be some rather strange confusion about that these days. Just want to people to know the truth and reality…only women have wombs in which God intentionally and purposefully creates His signature creation!

There is great purpose and intention in the design and existence of every life. (v.16)

Even before a momma knows she is with child, there is already a person in existence and being developed by our Almighty, All-knowing, All-present Creator!

This is why abortion is so abhorrent. This is why child abuse is so abhorrent. This is why senseless acts of violence and terrorism are so abhorrent. This is why eugenics is so abhorrent. This is why substance abuse is so abhorrent. This is why racism is so abhorrent. This is why suicide (whether self-inflicted or provider-assisted) is so abhorrent. This is why sin is so abhorrent. This is why anything that intentionally and maliciously seeks to diminish the worth and value of God’s signature creation is abhorrent and grieves the heart of God!

CLOSING

Do not listen to the lies of the broken world that tells you are just a face in a crowd and a cosmic accident of random chance. You are NOT AN ACCIDENT. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. You are made with purpose and intention. You are loved dearly by your Creator…so much so that despite the brokenness you may experience from living outside of His design, He would give His own life for you to come back into relationship with Him.

Friend you are not one of a billion, you are one in a billion and you are made on purpose for purpose and that purpose is to know Him just as much as He knows you.

I AM WHO GOD SAYS I AM. I AM NOT WHAT I THINK. I AM NOT WHAT I FEEL. I AM NOT WHAT OTHERS TELL ME. I AM WHO GOD SAYS I AM AND IF I AM HIM THEN I AM A CHILD OF THE KING!
