ETERNITY WITH GOD Revelation 20:11-22:5 HEAVEN TODAY 1. Heaven is a real, literal place today. 23:32-43 Luke 2. In heaven and hell, we will have a consciousness of our life on earth. 16:19-31 Luke 4. In heaven, Jesus sits at the right hand of the throne of God with all creation in subjection to him. Phil. 2:8-11 HEAVEN IN THE FUTURE 1. God will create a new heaven and new earth that will be united. 2 Peter 3:10-13; Rev. 21:1 2. In heaven, our physical bodies will be resurrected to spiritual bodies. 1 Cor. 15:35-46 3. In heaven, God will dwell with man with restored fellowship. Rev. 21:2-3 HEAVEN IN THE FUTURE 4. In heaven, all the effects of sin will be removed. Rev. 21:4-5 5. In heaven, the new creation will be spectacular beyond our imagination. Rev. 21:9-21 HEAVEN IN THE FUTURE 6. In heaven, only those who are God’s people will enjoy the presence of God; those who have rejected God will be judged for their sin. Rev. 20:11-15; Rev. 21:6-8; Rev. 21:22-22:5 HEAVEN: THE ULTIMATE YOU WITH GOD—GOD WITH YOU. APPLICATION 1. God desires and is accomplishing a restored relationship with man which should drive me to have a vibrant relationship with God today. 2. Understanding a little bit of eternity should motivates us to faithfulness today. 3. As a believer, I do not have to fear life today, death or eternity.
