So Moses came down from the Mountain of God after spending 40 days & 40 nights with God…
He then set up a temporary tabernacle outside the camp where he talked with God as one talks to a friend…

There Moses will once again receive instructions & information from the Lord:

3. Series Description

The title of our 4 part series is, "A Fresh Start”. We are in part 2.
Ever felt like you needed a do-over? Well, you're not alone. In this chapter we will discover how God gave His people a second chance and what that means for us today.
We are going to learn about Moses, the stone tablets, and God's unfailing love, and see how these ancient stories can inspire us to embrace our own fresh starts.
So, chapter is all about faith, forgiveness, and new beginnings!
So far we have looked at a couple of things in this chapter:
Vs. 1-4 we saw the Command of the Lord.
God commanded Moses to cut two tablets of stone.
Starting over & One mediator
Last time together we saw: The Nature of the Lord Vs. 5-9
The Revealing of the Lord’s Nature Vs. 5-7
The Response to the Lords’ nature Vs. 8-9
We saw how Moses responded: He worshipped Vs. 8 and he Prayed Vs. 9
So if you are taking notes we want to look at 1 thing today: The Renewal of the Covenant by the Lord Vs. 10-28 (But we are only looking at Vs. 10-17)

1. The Renewal of the Covenant by the Lord Vs. 10-28

1.1 Vs. 10-11

Moses you don’t have to worry about the inhabitants of the Promised Land, I’ll drive them out…
In these two verse God refers to Himself 6 times pointing out to the fact that He is the one who will do the work.
Philippians 2:13 NKJV
13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
APPLICATION: The repeated emphasis on God as the active agent (“I will do”) is a reminder of His central role in our lives. This point invites us to reflect on the nature of God's promises and His ability to fulfill them.
It's a call to trust in God's plan, recognizing that He is the orchestrator of events and the fulfiller of His word.
In other words, this can encourage us to rely not on our own strength or understanding but on God's power and guidance.
It's a call to surrender control, to step back from self-reliance, and to embrace a posture of trust and obedience.
Let God do the work!

1.2 Vs. 12-17

Yes, Moses you don’t have to worry about the inhabitants of the Promised Land, I’ll drive them out, ill do the work but…
You do have to beware not to make a covenant with them… don’t intermarry with them… don’t be involved with them at all…
Notice in the begging of Vs. 12 it says: Take heed to yourself…
APPLICATION: How often do we check in on ourselves?
2 Corinthians 13:5 NKJV
5 Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.
APPLICATION: What a great covenant for us, that we should be set apart, different from the those in the world.
2 Corinthians 6:17 NKJV
17 Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.”
But did you notice there in Vs. 14 the Bible says the Lord’s name is Jealous and He is a Jealous God. (Jehovah Kanaw, Jealous LORD…)
A lot of people have issues with this is and they often twist this scripture to say that God is jealous OF us when in reality what’s being said is that God is Jealous FOR us.
The idea of jealousy often carries negative connotations in our human experience, but when we speak of God's jealousy, we speak of something wholly different and pure.
God’s jealousy is not born of insecurity or pettiness. Rather, it is a reflection of His deep love for us.
He desires our wholehearted devotion, not because He needs it, but because He knows it is for our ultimate good.
APPLICATION: When we wander into sin or replace Him with idols – material possessions, other people, or even our own desires.
We are not just disobeying a command; we are breaking His heart.
Think of a loving parent's concern for their child. When the child strays or puts themselves in harm's way, the parent's heart is stirred not by anger, but by a protective, fervent love. This is a glimpse into God's heart...
APPLICATION: Listen, you belong to God...
1 Corinthians 6:19–20 NKJV
19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
