Introduction New Sermon series. This is a letter a circular letter to several churches. And layout is as one, with introduction etc.
1:1 Paul – Paul who? Born, PPT Series. (This is Saul we meet in Acts, that was a very serious student in judismen and avid persecutor of the way of Jesus, he was a Roman citizen, as Paul is chasing flowers of Jesus and gets them set in prison or put to death, Jesus shows up and makes Paul blind, and asks him what he is doing, Paul is prayed for and Jesus changed his life, and he gets set out of Antioch with a team and goes and shares that Jesus is Christ, to the Jews, and gentiles, and churches start in many places).
Therefore, as Paul said he is an apostle – that Jesus set him apparat for this work, (what is that? How made him that?) It was not man, or via a man, it was Jesus Christ and God the farther, that raised Jesus from the death, they mand him an apostle, PPT apostle – Why does Paul have to explain who he is and where he gets his authority from? (His autory might have been challenged).
Paul is not writing alone, also many others are with Paul. (Paul is not alone, he is part of a “team” ministry is done with others).
They write to the churches of Galatia – Map. PPT
PPP – overview. When is the letter written: - most of Paul’s letters are before the Gospels. [That depends on what Paul means with the word Galatian – North /South – something Scollers debate, the same with Acts and Jerusalem council. In other words, how does this fit with Paul life and the rest of the bible. When 48-51-60 early letter of Paul,]
Why is even more important: Paul is writing because he is concerned that the Galatians are straying from the gospel. Paul mad, upset, angry, he calls down a curse, on people that try to lead Galatians away from the true gospel. (We will have the same focus in this series, what is the true gospel and what are the many false gospels, that try to take our attention and divert us away the only good news about Jesus Christ.)
Verse 3 Grace a wish a blessing to bless and have God bless the Galatians –, grace that causes peace, joy and rejoicing, gods favor, that God can set un us, that will give the peace that can let us rest in Him. PPT.
And the next word of blessing is peace, - Inside out / outside, - links with shalom, Gods, perfect order, both words also, blessing, and prospers, as the slid said in God the find the “deeper” meaning, that understanding the gospel of Jesus Christ, it leads to joy, peace, to know Gods favor/grace in Jesus Christ. This will for the Galatians and all people of God make a great difference in how we live, and act in the world, peace when in treble, slandered, mocked, prosecuted, peace, in wealth, and prospers times, not trusting the time but trusting deeply in who God is. (It is very practical, it shows inpact in our daily life, even every moment, - when life happens, it my solid rock peace and grace of God in Jesus Christ, - or anger, wrath, complaining, despair, - The Greeting that I, and others so easy reads over to get to the meat (center of the letter, it important it leads to what comes next, if they don’t have this, they will be lead astray by others, and would have no ground to stand on, for peace, to enjoy grace, they might have to earn it). If Christ is not all, that is needed I need to earn it. ()
Paul and his team do not give this greeting and blessing in their own strength and name, no. But in the name of God our father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
is also Paul’s father along with the group he writes, and the Galatians. What how can the almighty God creator of all be their father and ours? By Jesus Christ. We just finished the Zac, where the great hope of the messiah, God coming to his people, Paul is not in doubt, nether is the group with him, Jesus is Christ the promised Messiah, who God raised from the death. Then the Lord everlasting God in messiah died, and God rose him from the death, why did he die, Paul writes he died to save us from our sins, he gave himself up that we might be deliver from this present evil age, according to Gods will and plan.
And it was Gods plan and his will, the struck sheapared, pirced one, Isah 53, God had a plan, the one Gospel of Jesus Christ.
For all who know, this is grounds for eternal praise of God. What a great way to start a letter.
With greetings, wishes of blessings and a great view of God and Jesus Christ, a great reminder of the gospel of Christ that is no mistake but planed in the council of God, 3-1 knew what God was doing, for who God is and all God has done in an trough Jesus who is the Christ the anointed one, the everlasting God, living dying, without sin, according to God the fathers will, to deliver us from sin, and the evil age that they and we live in, by giving up his life death on a cross, to take away sin, wrath, shame, pain guilt, all of our praise and all the glory belongs to God, now and forever and ever… Amen.
Who gets the praise? X 2 ppt.
Do we do that? Giv all the praise to God, why or why not? (Did we earn it?)
Where is peace found?
Where is grace found?
Do you experience it? How? Or why not?
Who is Jesus Christ? Is God your father?
Why is this introduction to a letter written about 2000 years ago so important?
