Tonight is the last night of 2023. As I thought about new beginnings and where we needed to be, I kept coming back to the book of Acts. Acts is full of new beginnings.
We have the ending of Christ’s earthly ministry, and therefore the beginning of the Apostles ministry.
We have the coming of the Holy Spirit.
We see the new baptism of the Holy Spirit.
We see the birth and foundation of the Church.
We see the conversion and ministry of Paul.
We see the beginning of several NT churches.
We see the mystery of the Gospel begin to unfold theologically and ministerially.
So with much thought and prayer, we are going to begin a new journey. We are going to start in the book of Acts 1 and travel straight through the Book. Whenever we get to certain parts, where Paul would have written letters to the churches, we will break from Acts and then go see what he wrote to them, and then come back to Acts and pick the storyline back up. Now obviously, we are not going to make it through this series in a year, so we are going to just start, go at God’s pace, and see where it takes us.
