Worship Fully / Spend Less / Give More / Love All
Why does God come down to us in the first place?
1 John 4:7–8 ESV
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
God’s defining attribute is love, and it is the reason for all that he does.
1 John 4:9 ESV
In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.
The birth of Jesus Christ is first great testament to the love of God.
1 John 4:10 ESV
In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
The death of Jesus Christ is the second great testament to the love of God.
1 John 4:11 ESV
Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
John 13:35 ESV
By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
The love of Christians for all is to be the third great testament to the love of God.
God will return again. Have we learned anything?
2 Timothy 4:8 ESV
Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.
What would we be doing if we were ready for the arrival of God?
We want to be people who love God and love his arrival in our midst.
We want to be people who love each other as a testament to God’s love for us.
