Jesus, our Wonderful Counselor
In this digital age where information and knowledge overwhelms, let us caution ourselves with what information to believe, what news to hear, what videos to see - because there are counselors. These information sources gradually becomes our guides, these becomes our basis of decision makings, “because this is what I see people do in facebook, or youtube, or tiktok”.
if we are not careful we will be molded like the world.
Wonderful (miracles, wonders) - in reference to the extraordinary deeds of God.
Why is Jesus a wonderful counselor?

His wisdom is divine (from heaven) - Isaiah 11:2; Mark 6:2
He is all-knowing - John 4:29
He is truthful - He makes His truth known to us through His Word -Isaiah 45: 18-19
He makes no mistake - Rom 11:33
Thus
When followed, his counsel always lead to our good.
His counsel makes us fruitful and joyful.
His counsel gives life.
His counsel spares us from self-inflicted pain.
Illustrate: Psalms 1:1-3, Proverbs 3:1-6 ; Joshua 1:8
Compare: Human counselor - no matter how smart, limited in wisdom ; prone to mistake ; might have wrong motive.

He loves despite knowing we are unworthy.
He does not condemn.
He helps us when we are helpless.
Romans 5:8-11
The Gospel Truth:
God knows our helpless situation. He knows our inability to save our selves from the chains of sin and the fangs of death and the eternal suffering in hell.
In God’s Wise Counsel, He did not leave sinners to just perish in hell. From before the creation of the Word, the Trinity planned the salvation / redemption of the fallen human beings.
He loves without expecting in return. Even if we make mistakes, he will not stop giving loving counsel.
He counsels for free.
Compare: Human counselor - lacks empathy and may approach the counselee as business matter; he will not totally understand our situation; can only help as much depending on tolerance and comfort.

He is always there. He is accessible. Matt. 28:20
We don’t need an appointment or book a schedule with him
He gives counsel in the exact time we need Him.
His presence alone brings comfort.
Compare - Human counselor - You have to book an appointment, Late counsel, Not always available.
