Confession of Sin

One of my old pastors used to ask me often, “How has Jesus saved you lately?” He asked me this to ensure that I wouldn’t forget the truth that we just sang – that we need Jesus every moment. He never ceases to be our savior. We never graduate from the gospel. He is the vine, we are the branches, apart from him, we can do nothing.
So lets read this confession of sin together:
Holy Father, you sustain us every moment, but we so often grow prideful and self-sufficient. We, like Peter, have all over-estimated our own ability to remain faithful and obedient. Our failures have left us ashamed, but let not our shame cause us to hide from you. By your Holy Spirit, revive our hearts, and cause us to cling to Christ in every moment. Amen.
Now lets take a moment to silently confess our sins to the Lord
Now hear the Assurance of Pardon from 2 Corinthians 12:9,
the Lord Jesus says to you, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
That’s the good news of the gospel. Amen.
