Shamoun on Deity of Christ Incarnation
Matthew 4:10 “Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ””
Worship: proskyneo
Matthew 14:33 “Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.””
Matthew 14:27 “But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I (ego eimi I AM); do not be afraid.””
This is an echo of Isa 43:2 yahweh tramples sea Isa 43 and other chapters point to this as Theophany because Hebrew is einewhoo in greek is ego eimi
I AM - This is all Jesus.
Jesus is Gods Son 100% and we worship Him this way.
Matthew 21:15–16 “15 But when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that He did, and the children crying out in the temple and saying, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” they were indignant 16 and said to Him, “Do You hear what these are saying?” And Jesus said to them, “Yes. Have you never read, ‘Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have perfected praise’?”” Ps 8:1-2 They praise Jehovah (Jesus saying he is J in Flesh)
Matthew 1:21 “21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”” only god can forgive/save from sin.
Luke 19:9–10“And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham; 10 for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.””
Even James and Jude said Jesus was Lord. There can only be one Lord in heaven.
James 1:1 “1 James, a bondservant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad: Greetings.”
James 2:1 “1 My brethren, do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with partiality.”
Jude 1 “1 Jude, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, To those who are called, sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ:”
Jude 4 “4 For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Jude 5 “5 But I want to remind you, though you once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.” Jesus led the people out of Egypt. Oldest greek copies say Jesus instead of Lord in this verse. P72 says Theos Kristos: the God Christ
The gospels tell us John prepared the coming of Jehovah (Jesus). Jesus is Jehovah in the flesh. There was confusion about this - because people wondered was it one or two messiahs. Dead sea scrolls thought Aaron & David 2. John 1 expecting Christ and Elijah, Talmud 2 Messiah Son of Joseph/David.
Zechariah 12:10 “10 “And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.”
Zechariah 13:7 “7 “Awake, O sword, against My Shepherd, Against the Man who is My Companion (related by nature/place),” Says the Lord of hosts. “Strike the Shepherd, And the sheep will be scattered; Then I will turn My hand against the little ones.”
Revelation 1:7 “7 Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.”
Jeremiah 31:34 “34 No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”” This is now and future. Is very common (covenant Abraham took 400 years)\
