The Book of Esther shows God’s Providence in Human Events, His Provision for His People and His Protection.
Esther takes place in 479-470 BC. About 60 years after the first exiles had returned (538). 36 years after the temple was rebuilt. and 20 years before Ezra went to Jerusalem. 35 years before Nehemiah.

God moves in a mysterious way
His wonders to perform;
He plants His footsteps in the sea
And rides upon the storm.Deep in unfathomable mines
Of never failing skill
He treasures up His bright designs
And works His sov’reign will.Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take;
The clouds ye so much dread
Are big with mercy and shall break
In blessings on your head.Judge not the Lord by feeble sense,
But trust Him for His grace;
Behind a frowning providence
He hides a smiling face.His purposes will ripen fast,
Unfolding every hour;
The bud may have a bitter taste,
But sweet will be the flow’r.Blind unbelief is sure to err
And scan His work in vain;
God is His own interpreter,
And He will make it plain.
Psalm 76:10 “Surely the wrath of man shall praise you; the remnant of wrath you will put on like a belt.”
God worked through a dignified queen’s refusal to dishonor herself.
God worked in spite of the wickedness of Xerxes.
