I. THE SUBTLTY OF CATHOLIC INFLUENCE OVER THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE TERM “SAINT’, AND IT’S IMPLICATIONS IN OUR UNDERSTANDING.

A. Catholic dogma that has adulterated this important term for us.

B. The teaching of Catholic theology in Christianity.

C. The saints of the roman church and their veneration.

II. ORTHODOX UNDERSTANDING OF THE TERM UNDER GRACE.

A. Void of merit.

B. Saints = (αγιος – holy; by the holiness & pureness of Christ.

III. THE CHARGE TO FAITHFULNESS.

A. A special greeting to the faithful, and a call to the same for all.

B. Distinguished from the saints in general.

1) There was an obvious problem with some regarding faithfulness.

2) Expounded upon in verses 3-8.
