Lord Today ---
MAY MY VOICE BE YOUR WORD
How easy it is to follow your beliefs and traditions
and miss eternal TRUTH.
Who is Jesus?
Write it down.
Who is Jesus to you?
Is He LORD, Saviour, a good man, a doer of Miracles,
the guy in the new testament, part of trinity
Who is Jesus?
If Jesus came in to your world right now
Would you know who HE is?
How would you KNOW?
Our verses today are a little different than most weekend messages
First there is no command in these verses
there are questions
in fact there are three questions
and the following section of Scripture
has three more.
if you are here today and a Christian
none of John should be a revelation to you
we should know HIM
Our mission is to DISCOVER HIM DEEPER
Lets read our verses for today
John 7:25–31 (ESV)
25 Some of the people of Jerusalem therefore said, “Is not this the man whom they seek to kill?
26 And here he is, speaking openly, and they say nothing to him! Can it be that the authorities really know that this is the Christ?
27 But we know where this man comes from, and when the Christ appears, no one will know where he comes from.”
28 So Jesus proclaimed, as he taught in the temple, “You know me, and you know where I come from. But I have not come of my own accord. He who sent me is true, and him you do not know.
29 I know him, for I come from him, and he sent me.”
30 So they were seeking to arrest him, but no one laid a hand on him, because his hour had not yet come.
31 Yet many of the people believed in him. They said, “When the Christ appears, will he do more signs than this man has done?”
The main question on the Jewish Mind
is WHO IS JESUS?
Is HE the CHRIST?
Confusion
their issue stems from this confusion
on
Who is this man that is Speaking,
Why are the authorities allowing HIM to speak?
doing miracles, healing people, teaching amazing things from their Law
Who is this man that is Speaking
and
who is this man that is
challenging their way of life
their way of believing
Jewish Leaders are resolving to KILL the CHALLENGE to their way
the PEOPLE are confused.
Like us today
they probably wanted parts of Jesus’s message and not others.
so often People want
to cherry pick through the Scripture
and become an editor of God’s Word
to remove the things that they don’t believe
or
things they don’t want to believe
This is our message this morning
When confronted with our beliefs
we often lower our head and sink into the sand.
Or we proclaim boldly that someone is wrong
and seek to dissolve them of there power of speech or position.
A prideful mind knows, a humble mind seeks to understand.
Tough words aren’t they
but am i speaking truth??
When someone is speaking about a subject that you don’t agree
we normally challenge the speaker
behind their back
or we cower and pretend it doesn’t exist
This is the Jews in our Scripture today.
The Leaders are seeking and scheming to Kill the message and the messenger
The people are confused and confront in their beliefs
We have leaders today that seek to Kill the TRUTH, Kill the Way to eternal life,
— They seek to change the WAY that we think
We must learn that there is only ONE WAY
this is the issue today and in our Scripture this morning
The Jews had a WAY, manipulated by Man, but installed as the WAY and JESUS is challenging their beliefs
this will be the reality in our messages for the rest of the book of John
The leaders are scheming and seeking to destroy Jesus
the people are coming and going
and a remnant are becoming followers
There is a conflict centered around Jesus that is going on in ancient ISRAEL
and it is still going on today
Not just in the Land of Israel today
but in our city our state and our Nation.
Vs 25 SOME OF THE PEOPLE
This verse is giving us insight into the state of mind of
the Jewish people
the people are unsure of WHO IS JESUS?
Some said --- is this not the man who they seek to kill?
Is this the Christ?
They argue that they know where He comes from
The issue is Scripture from the adherence to Scripture and their lack of understanding
Frankly it is their pride of “knowing” everything and not open to consideration.
The Scripture say that the Christ will come from Bethlehem, the offspring of King David --- David was from Bethlehem
we know where Jesus was from .. but this Jews did not
remember
---- Nathanael ( John 1:46) “what good can come from Nazareth”
Jesus of Nazareth.
but Scripture was correct…
the Saviour will be born in Bethlehem

SAD that assumptions are steering the world then and now
Let me take a moment and ask you the question of the day again.
Who is Jesus?

We can all admit that we often have
BANDWAGON BELIEFS.
The truth is that we live in an age
where there is no shortage of information
The issue is not the lack of information
but knowing what is the correct information
Do you remember the “weather rock
Wet - RAIN
HOT - Warm
Dry - sunny
moving - Windy
crazy the simple TRUTH of that ROCK.
I WANT TO LEARN THAT SIMPLE truth FROM my rock my saviour and my LORD
I Ask a simple question
Who is Jesus?
if you are unsure of that question
where would you go for the TRUTH
Google?
Is Google always RIGHT?
No but GOD IS
So we seek it in HIS WORD, THROUGH PRAYER,
Through CONSULTATION with OTHERS
SEEKING HIS WORD OF TRUTH
This is what the Jews are facing.
They are caught up in their
truth NOT HIS
they were taught the truth
Yet i see no recording in Scripture that the Jewish went to seek TRUTH in SCRIPTURE --- they reacted based on tradition and bias
the way they were taught to process
The truth was right in front of them
But they couldn’t see it because of
assumptions and bias.
The Word of God had become
secondary to the Rules of Man
ah.... you see it today now don’t you
I tell people often if you believe that any of
our court system
seeks the Bible as the standard
rather than precedent and law
then i believe you are mistaken!!!
This is the context of these verses
Jesus is doing the WORD - The Will of THE FATHER
Jesus is operating in GOD’s TIMING not the WORLDs
fulfilling prophesy and they are not wired to receive
their frequency is off.
Years ago prior to digital radio stations and tv channels
we would have to TUNE to the STATION
that is the problem.
instead of spending the time dialing in
and hearing the TRUTH clearly
we skip it and listen to the white noise
or the world’s beliefs.
How do we get to the place where we hear 10 news channels give different opinions on the TRUTH?
Man’s Sinful desire to BE RIGHT
Rather than GOD’s Plan
to be the ONLY WAY-TRUTH and LIFE
and then decide to voice what we want to believe
whether TRUTH or TALE.

My question this morning is
Who is Jesus?
Redeemer, Saviour, Your Peace, Healer
Vine, Life, the Way, TRUTH
maybe the ROCK on Which you Stand
God, Love, Joy — Friend, Prayer focus. Messiah?
Do you have questions on WHO HE IS?
If you have questions you may have doubts
Jesus wants you to know HIM
Know Him that you would recognize HIM
Friends
I deeply believe that if Jesus showed up in person today that:
First of ALL
i would know BECAUSE OF HIM IN ME
I would know because Jesus is coming back
We should be excited for HIS RETURN
to be taken up, wisped away in a blind of an eye
to give up all of the world
for the complete presence of HIM
and the BIBLE gives us TRUTH
Acts 1:11 (ESV)
11 and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”
Matthew 24:27 (ESV)
27 For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
Luke 21:25–28 (ESV)
25 “And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves,
26 people fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world. For the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
27 And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
28 Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”
BUT I CAUTION YOU BROTHERS AND SISTERS
Matthew 24:36 “36 “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.”
So lets tighten up our life
increase our reading and learning in the WORD
Embrace our CHURCH, our BROTHERS and SISTERS
and SPREAD THE WORD
That JESUS IS THE MESSIAH
THAT JESUS DIED FOR ALL
TO BELIEVE and BECOME in HIM
LET US GO DAILY
LET US SPEAK and Profess HIS MIGHTY NAME

10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
