Kingdom Blueprint

Isaiah 61:1-4; Luke 4:18-19
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to:
1. bring good news to the poor
. . . to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; to grant to those who mourn in Zion— to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit. . .
2. he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound. . .
3. that they may be called oaks of righteousness. . .
4. They shall build up the ancient ruins; they shall raise up former devastations; they shall repair the ruined cities, the devastations of many generations.

Preach the Gospel of the Kingdom

How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns” (Isaiah 52:7)
. . . the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor (Isaiah 61:1)
“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 3:2)
From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 4:17)
And He went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom. . . (Matthew 4:23)
And proclaim as you go, saying, “The kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 10:7)
And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom. . . (Matthew 9:35)
And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come (Matthew 24:14)
. . . but He said to them, “I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns as well; for I was sent for this purpose” (Luke 4:43) - As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world (John 17:18)
. . . and say to them, “The kingdom of God has come near to you” (Luke 10:9)
He presented Himself alive to them after suffering by many proofs, appearing to them during forty days and speaking about the kingdom of God (Acts 1:3)
Proverbs 15:30; 25:25; Isaiah 40:9; 41:27; Nahum 1:15; Matthew 11:5; Luke 3:18; 4:18-19; 7:22; 8:1; 16:16; 9:2; 9:11 Acts 8:12; 8:35; 10:36; 13:32; 14:5; Romans 10:15; Hebrews 4:2; 4:6; 1 Peter 1:12

Set the captives free

“I am the Lord; I have called you in righteousness; I will take you by the hand and keep you; I will give you as a covenant for the people, a light for the nations, to open the eyes that are blind, to bring out the prisoners from the dungeon, from the prison those who sit in darkness” (Isaiah 42:6–7)
. . . to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of prison to those who are bound (Isaiah 61:1)
And He went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction among the people (Matthew 4:23)
And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction (Matthew 9:35)
And He went through all Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and casting out demons (Mark 1:39)
And He called to Him His twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every affliction (Matthew 10:1)
And He appointed twelve (whom He also named apostles) so that they might be with Him and He might send them out to preach and have authority to cast out demons (Mark 3:14-15)
And He called the twelve and began to send them out two by two, and gave them authority over the unclean spirits (Mark 6:7)
Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons (Matthew 10:8)
And He called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases (Luke 9:1)
Whenever you enter a town and they receive you, eat what is set before you. Heal the sick in it . . . (Luke 10:8-9)
Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you. . . (Luke 10:19-20)
Every believer will set captives free:
“And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it ill not harm them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover” (Mark 16:17-18)
Even those who do not follow Christ, but believe in the power of His name:
John answered, “Master, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to stop him, because he does not follow with us” (Luke 9:49)
. . . Heal the sick in it and say to them, “The kingdom of God has come near to you” (Luke 10:9)
John said to Him, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in your name, and we tried to stop him, because he was not following us” (Mark 9:38)
. . . how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him (Acts 10:38)
Matthew 11:5; Luke 4:18-19; 7:22; 9:2; 9:11

Establish them as oaks of righteousness

Zion shall be redeemed by justice, and those in her who repent, by righteousness (Isaiah 1:27)
I am the Lord; I have called You in righteousness; I will take You by the hand and keep You; I will give You as a covenant for the people, a light for the nations, to open the eyes that are blind, to bring out the prisoners from the dungeon, from the prison those who sit in darkness (Isaiah 42:6-7)
Shower, O heavens, from above, and let the clouds rain down righteousness; let the earth open, that salvation and righteousness may bear fruit; let the earth cause them both to sprout; I the Lord have created it (Isaiah 45:8)
I have stirred Him up in righteousness, and I will make all His ways level; he shall build my city and set my exiles free not for price or reward (Isaiah 45:13)
Only in the Lord, it shall be said of me, are righteousness and strength. . . (Isaiah 45:24)
Out of the anguish of His soul He shall see and be satisfied; by His knowledge shall the righteous One, My Servant, make many to be accounted righteous, and He shall bear their iniquities (Isaiah 53:11)
. . . that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified (Isaiah 61:3)
I will greatly rejoice in the Lord; my soul exult in my God, for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness. . . (Isaiah 61:10) - For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ (Galatians 3:27)
In His days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely. And this is the name by which He will be called: “The Lord is our righteousness” (Jeremiah 23:6)
In those days Judah will be saved, and Jerusalem will dwell securely. And this is the name by which it will be called: “The Lord is our righteousness” (Jeremiah 33:16)
For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified (Romans 2:13)
But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it - the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by His grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus (Romans 3:21-23)
. . . much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ (Romans 5:17)
For as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous (Romans 5:19)
Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. For one who has died has been set free from sin. . . . and having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness (Romans 6:3–7)
But the righteousness based on faith says, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ down) “or ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:6–9)
And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, so that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord” (1 Co 1:30–31)
For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God (2 Co 5:21)
. . . and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness (Ephesians 4:24) - For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ (Galatians 3:27)
And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God (Philippians 1:9–11)
. . . but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith (Philippians 3:9)
. . . He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life (Titus 3:5–7)
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed (1 Peter 2:24)
To those who have obtained a faith of equal standing with ours by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:1)
If you know that he is righteous, you may be sure that everyone who practices righteousness has been born of him (1 John 2:29)
Isaiah 59:17 Ephesians 6:14

And they will rebuild the city

They shall build up the ancient ruins; they shall raise up the former devastations; they shall repair the ruined cities, the devastations of many generations (Isaiah 61:4)
He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever (2 Samuel 7:13)
David commanded to gather together the resident aliens who were in the land of Israel, and he set stonecutters to prepare dressed stones for building the house of God (1 Chronicles 22:2)
You know that David my father could not build a house for the name of the Lord his God, because of the warfare with which his enemies surrounded him, until the Lord put them under the soles of his feet (1 Kings 5:3)
He shall build a house for my name. He shall be my son, and I will be his father, and I will establish his royal throne in Israel forever (1 Chronicles 22:10)
O Lord our God, all this abundance that we have provided for building you a house for your holy name comes from your hand and is all your own (1 Chronicles 29:16)
I have stirred him up in righteousness, and I will make all his ways level; he shall build my city and set my exiles free, not for price or reward,” says the Lord of hosts (Isaiah 45:13)
And it shall be said, “Build up, build up, prepare the way, remove every obstruction from my people’s way” (Isaiah 57:14)
And say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, “Behold, the man whose name is the Branch: for he shall branch out from his place, and he shall build the temple of the Lord (Zechariah 6:12)
And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it (Matthew 16:18) - “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you? Everyone who comes to me and hears my words and does them, I will show you what he is like: he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when a flood arose, the stream broke against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built. But the one who hears and does not do them is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. When the stream broke against it, immediately it fell, and the ruin of that house was great” (Luke 6:46–49)
“We heard him say, ‘I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another, not made with hands’” (Mark 14:58)
. . . and thus I make it my ambition to preach the gospel, not where Christ has already been named, lest I build on someone else’s foundation (Romans 15:20)
For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, God’s building (1 Corinthians 3:8–9)
According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it. For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ (1 Co 3:10–11)
In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit (Ephesians 2:22)
. . . you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ (1 Peter 2:5)
