Fear due to Lies and deciets
A lot of suffocation, murmuring, criticism, dissatisfaction, helplessness, lack of clarity, not knowing the big picture etc. family disunity, divisions in the church, political games, suffering, fear of suffering,
Avoid expressing anger to fellow beings.
Avoid revenge
Pray for the deliverence from enemies. share your heart with God.
while communicating with God, Psalmist is speaking
Ps.120:4 “He will punish you with a warrior’s sharp arrows, with burning coals of the broom bush.”
But to individuals we don’t need to say so. The Holy Spirit teaches us through the example of the psalmist to depend on God for deliverance in these circumstances and not to take matters into our own hands

Meshech … Kedar:
Meshech refers to a people who lived in the mountains to the southeast of the Black Sea (HALOT 2.646). Kedar refers to a nomadic people who lived between Egypt and Edom (HALOT 3.1072). Because of the geographical distance, it is likely that these references are metaphorical for hostile barbarians
1 Pt. 2:11,12 “Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.”

There are times in this life when we long for peace, but those around us seem bent on bringing strife into our lives. Such was the situation for the composer of Psalm 120. The position of this psalm at the beginning of the pilgrim psalms shows us that the longing for peace goes hand in hand with the longing for the saving presence of God. In and through the presence of God, we will experience peace, and strife will end.

We too can be assured that those who would harm us with lies will end up only harming themselves.
