The deep pastoral concern of the writer of this letter comes through especially clearly in the last two chapters. He closes out with short exhortations and warnings. Some are related to the greater theme of holding firmly to Christ, while others are due to his knowledge of their present spiritual needs. Over arching all this is the Holy Spirit's omniscient foreknowledge of what believers - including us - would need, to grow and thrive in our Christian lives.
