Introduction:

1.     Unity (Is one)

(a)         Deut.6:4-16 – “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one!   "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.   "And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.   "You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.   "You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.   "You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.   "So it shall be, when the LORD your God brings you into the land of which He swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give you large and beautiful cities which you did not build,   "houses full of all good things, which you did not fill, hewn-out wells which you did not dig, vineyards and olive trees which you did not plant--when you have eaten and are full--   "then beware, lest you forget the LORD who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.   "You shall fear the LORD your God and serve Him, and shall take oaths in His name.   "You shall not go after other gods, the gods of the peoples who are all around you   `(for the LORD your God is a jealous God among you), lest the anger of the LORD your God be aroused against you and destroy you from the face of the earth.   "You shall not tempt the LORD your God as you tempted Him in Massah.

(b)        Isa.45:5 – I am the LORD, and there is no other; There is no God besides Me. I will gird you, though you have not known Me.

(c)         Eph.4:4-6 – There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism;   one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

2.     Compassionate

(a)         Exodus 33:12-19 – Then Moses said to the LORD, "See, You say to me, `Bring up this people.' But You have not let me know whom You will send with me. Yet You have said, `I know you by name, and you have also found grace in My sight.'   "Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight. And consider that this nation is Your people."   And He said, "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest."   Then he said to Him, "If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.   "For how then will it be known that Your people and I have found grace in Your sight, except You go with us? So we shall be separate, Your people and I, from all the people who are upon the face of the earth."   So the LORD said to Moses, "I will also do this thing that you have spoken; for you have found grace in My sight, and I know you by name."   And he said, "Please, show me Your glory."   Then He said, "I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion."

(b)        But You, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious, Longsuffering and abundant in mercy and truth. (Psalms 86:15 NKJV)

(c)         The LORD is gracious and full of compassion, Slow to anger and great in mercy. (Psalms 145:8 NKJV)

3.     Eternal

(a)         Psalm 45:6 – Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.

(b)        Psalm 90:1-4 – Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations.   Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever You had formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.   You turn man to destruction, And say, "Return, O children of men."   For a thousand years in Your sight Are like yesterday when it is past, And like a watch in the night.

(c)         Isaiah 40:28 – Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable.

4.     Faithful & Trustworthy

(a)         "And now, O Lord GOD, You are God, and Your words are true, and You have promised this goodness to Your servant. (2 Samuel 7:28 NKJV)

(b)        He is the Rock, His work is perfect; For all His ways are justice, A God of truth and without injustice; Righteous and upright is He. (Deuteronomy 32:4 NKJV)

(c)         For the word of the LORD is right, And all His work is done in truth. (Psalms 33:4 NKJV)

(d)        But You, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious, Longsuffering and abundant in mercy and truth. (Psalms 86:15 NKJV)

(e)         It is good to give thanks to the LORD, And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; (Psalms 92:1 NKJV)

(f)          For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations. (Psalms 100:5 NKJV)

(g)        LORD, You are my God. I will exalt You, I will praise Your name, For You have done wonderful things; Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. (Isaiah 25:1 NKJV)

(h)         But as God is faithful, our word to you was not Yes and No.   For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us----by me, Silvanus, and Timothy----was not Yes and No, but in Him was Yes.   For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us. (2 Corinthians 1:18-20 NKJV)

(i)          Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.   He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it. (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 NKJV)

(j)          But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. (2 Thessalonians 3:3 NKJV)

(k)         If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself. (2 Timothy 2:13 NKJV)

(l)          Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. (Hebrews 10:23 NKJV)

(m)       Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful Creator. (1 Peter 4:19 NKJV)

5.     Good

(a)         Do not remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions; According to Your mercy remember me, For Your goodness' sake, O LORD. (Psalms 25:7 NKJV)

(b)        Oh, how great is Your goodness, Which You have laid up for those who fear You, Which You have prepared for those who trust in You In the presence of the sons of men! (Psalms 31:19 NKJV)

(c)         Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! (Psalms 34:8 NKJV)

(f)          Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. (Psalms 118:1 NKJV)

(g)        He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? (Romans 8:32 NKJV)

(h)         If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him… Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. (James 1:5, 17 NKJV)

(d)        Therefore the LORD will wait, that He may be gracious to you; And therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you. For the LORD is a God of justice; Blessed are all those who wait for Him. (Isaiah 30:18 NKJV)

(e)         And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. (2 Corinthians 12:9 NKJV)

(f)          Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good hope by grace,   comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work. (2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 NKJV)

(g)        Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God,   who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began, (2 Timothy 1:8-9 NKJV)

(h)         Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16 NKJV)

(b)        `For I am the LORD your God. You shall therefore consecrate yourselves, and you shall be holy; for I am holy. Neither shall you defile yourselves with any creeping thing that creeps on the earth.   `For I am the LORD who brings you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy. (Leviticus 11:44-45 NKJV)

(c)         For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness, Nor shall evil dwell with You. (Psalms 5:4 NKJV)

(d)        As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the LORD is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him. (Psalms 18:30 NKJV)

(e)         For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: "I dwell in the high and holy place, With him who has a contrite and humble spirit, To revive the spirit of the humble, And to revive the heart of the contrite ones. (Isaiah 57:15 NKJV)

(a)         "For the LORD your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality nor takes a bribe. (Deuteronomy 10:17 NKJV)

(b)        "You have heard that it was said, `You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.'   "But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,   "that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. (Matthew 5:43-45 NKJV)
