An impossible destiny
Gabriel Announced...
There would be two impossible pregnancies.
One of them would result in the birth of an impossible person.
And that impossible person had an impossible destiny.
The Bible testifies to the impossible...
That is the one of the main themes of our faith in Jesus.
Everything related to Jesus is impossible.
To be a Christian means that you have to truly believe this...
Luke 1:37 ESV
37 For nothing will be impossible with God.”
Now,
How does this relate to your story?
These announcements weren’t just for the purpose of proving God does impossible things…
The Impossible Things were meant to reveal God’s Impossible Solution for humanity’s biggest problem.
Jesus was coming, and because he was coming, so was the solution for Humanity’s Problem.
Humanity’s Problem
Alienation from God
Jesus is God’s impossible solution for this problem.
Some of you, if not all of you, are experiencing things that need an impossible solution.
Things Requiring Impossible Solutions
Extreme addictions to destructive things.
Terrible relationship issues and struggles
Immense pride and arrogance in your heart
Crippling fear and anxiety
Inability to have children
I want to make clear that I’m not promising that God will change or fix these things the way that YOU think he should.
We all have opinions about how we think God should solve our impossible situations.
But you have to understand this about Gabriel’s impossible news to Mary!
The announcements, while being anticipated, did not happen the way they were expected...
Unexpected Realities
Mary was a young poor girl in Nazareth.
Jesus was born to commoners and was announced humbly!
Jesus’ fulfilment of His impossible destiny required His death and resurrection
Isaiah 55:8 NIV
8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.
Gods impossible solutions usually come about in ways that are impossible for you to imagine
Praise God for the way that He does the impossible!
If He did things the way we wanted them to be done we would be in a really really bad place.
So, whatever your impossible situation is right now… Believe God for impossible solutions, but surrender your own ideas about what the solution should be. That way you can receive His best for you!
Romans 8:28 ESV
28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:29 ESV
29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.
Invitation
I want to close with this warning to you. Its a warning with an invitation...
While God loves every person on this planet and He is always at work in every life. The truth is that experiencing impossible solutions should not be the goal of going to Him.
You all need impossible solutions in some way or another… But most importantly, we all need to receive what was always impossible for us to attain. GOD.
Thats the main point of God’s impossible workings in Mary’s life.
Jesus is God’s impossible solution for our greatest problem.
Jesus, eventually, went to a cross to suffer and die for our sins. In reality, the holy Son of God’s suffering in our place was an impossible thing that God made happen.
Before you thankfully receive God’s impossible solutions for you specific problem, will you thankfully receive Him as your impossible solution for your human problem?
