The Power of the Words of Jesus

Are you a person who believe before seeing or seeing before believing?
The natural man is see first then believe. Evidence before Faith!
Jesus is all knowing and he knows the heart of every man that is why Jesus said, “Unless you people see signs and wonders,, you simply will not believe”.
But despite that, it did not stop Jesus from exercising His power to heal and to give life!
3 Important Truth for us to develop a sincere Faith in Jesus!

I. The Words of Jesus is powerful and true!

His word gives life and healing.
His word is true.
His word does not disappoint.
Example: Jesus spoke and it came true!
Matthew 8:8 NASB95
8 But the centurion said, “Lord, I am not worthy for You to come under my roof, but just say the word, and my servant will be healed.
John 11:43–44 NASB95
43 When He had said these things, He cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth.” 44 The man who had died came forth, bound hand and foot with wrappings, and his face was wrapped around with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Unbind him, and let him go.”
Jesus’s words are powerful and true!
Hebrews 1:1–3 NASB95
1 God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, 2 in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. 3 And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
Psalm 18:30 NASB95
30 As for God, His way is blameless; The word of the Lord is tried; He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him.
Jesus is the ultimate healer and restorer of life. He doesn't need any apparatus, medicines, nor help from others to be able heal. He just needs to say it and it will be done.
The Gospel:
We all want to be healed if we are physically sick. But more than that, we need to be healed from our spiritual blindness and our problem called sin.
Jesus can heal both physical and spiritual sickness. The Gospel offers healing for our spiritual blindness and eternal damnation as punishment for our sins. In Jesus there is assurance of eternal life!
John 10:10 NASB95
10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

II. The Words of Jesus must be received and believed with sincerity

The situation is a matter of life and death and there is a sense of desperation for help.
We are faced with the reality of sickness that could result to death.
The Royal Official may have the money, the connection, and power to get the best physician but it did not matter. All were useless! They could not heal the child!
What helped the Official and his son was his humility and faith!
The greatest men must go themselves to God, must become beggars

III. The Sincerity of your faith will benefit others.

The son was healed
The family became believers of Christ!
To be clear: God did not promise physical healing to anyone. He heal’s according to his will.
The first miracle performed in Cana when Jesus turned water into wine was at a time of family celebration. Here, His second miracle was performed at a time of family devastation. Whether you are experiencing times of gladness or times of sadness, Jesus is the Man for the moment. Whether celebration or devastation, a wedding party or a funeral gathering, Jesus is the One you can count on, look to, and receive from miraculously
Reflection: But not all the time we experience healing, not all the time we will be able to see hand of God!
What should we do if God does not give us the answer to our prayers?
Yes, signs were given to give reason for people to believe but we are not to rely on signs. We are to rely on Jesus and his Word.
A faith built only on miraculous signs is not a complete faith.
The Gospel calls us to believe, to have faith so we can receive eternal life!
Proper Response:
As a parent, I will go to Jesus for help in the life of my children.
I will intercede in prayer for my family, my children, and for others.
I will not doubt Christ even if he will not heal my physical body.
I will rejoice because I know that my spiritual blindness has bean healed. As a parent, I will go to Jesus for help in the life of my children.
