Here are some things to consider. (Read all the way to the end.)
1. I have no idea how old the Earth is because the Bible doesn't tell us that. I was making room for the explanations that are out there for the Dinosaurs. I made sure to say that when I was teaching. If Dinosaurs were creators from the first Earth, it would explain their extinction. God preserved the animals of the land on the ark in Noah's flood, and there is no mention of him letting some go extinct during that time. Although I believe climate change could have taken them out after the flood of Noah. So, I leave it open. And at the end of the day, it has no bearing on my relationship with God. I don't believe that God made the earth to destroy it. I understand it was judged because of the sin of the angles when they fell, and I don't know how long they walked the Earth before that happened.
2. I would ask you to read Ezekiel 28:11-16 and notice how Satan, "The King of Tyre," was on the earth before he fell. This would lead me to believe there was some Angelic system of life before humanity was created. We know that all Angelic beings do not serve humans because of the host of fallen angels that war against us. Notice that Hebrews 1:14 is a question, not a statement, and another rule is we never base doctrine on a question.
3. The rule that you take the Bible literally until it tells you otherwise is because, in 2 Peter 1:20-21, we are told the Bible is of no private interpretation. So we don't get to decide when we think it is an allegory, or we can dismiss it all away, which people have done.
4. I firmly believe that the account of creation given in Job 38 is accurate and true. But again, these are questions God is asking that He knew Job (or anyone) had the answer to. These are not statements about creation but questions.
With all that said, I love that you are diving into the Word to try and figure it out, and you don't have to agree with me. I would suggest you hold judgment until you learn to apply all the rules of Bible study so that you don't get misled in your research. Good Job!!!

The Counsel of God

No Other Gods

Genesis 1:26 ESV
26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
Psalm 82:1 ESV
1 God has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he holds judgment:
The central theme of the Bible is the King and His Kingdom. Since the beginning of time, there has been a fight for the rule of the kingdom. Adam and Eve were given authority over Earth’s kingdom but lost it through sin and Satan’s deception. The fall of Adam opened a door for other beings like Satan called “elohim” (translated gods, notice the little “g”) to usurp his authority and rule areas of the Earth in his place. “Elohim” is also translated as God (notice the big “G”) in the Bible and refers to the one true Creator God that is the rightful King of his creation.
Understanding the terms The Creator God: There is none like him or beside him. He is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. There is only one “Yahweh.” “Other gods”: God has created other beings with power and authority to carry out His wishes and plans (Ps 82:1-2). Some of these “elohim” (gods) have fallen from grace and established places of rule on Earth until Christ’s ultimate return. For more study on this subject, read “The Unseen Realm” by Dr. Michael S. Heiser.
Genesis 3:4–5 KJV
4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” (Genesis 3:4–5, KJV emphasis mine). Both of these words for “god” in this passage are the Hebrew word “elohim.” The first is singular, and the second one plural. Since Adam’s fall, there has been a choice to be made of which god you would serve: The Creator God or the gods of this world. God chose Abraham’s line (Israel) to be the people of His kingdom and show the world the difference between Himself and the gods of this world. Notice the first commandment God gave to Israel at Mt. Sini in Exodus 20.
Exodus 20:1–3 ESV
1 And God spoke all these words, saying, 2 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. 3 “You shall have no other gods before me.
God had just defeated all the gods of Egypt to secure the release of his people, Israel. As God moves Israel through the promised land, He systematically conquers the gods in those lands and the people that served them. Jesus, God in the flesh, proclaims to Israel, the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. The Messiah has come. But before He can rule and reign, he also must choose to renounce all other gods.  During the temptations of Christ in Luke 4, Satan offered to give Him all the kingdoms of the world if He would bow down and worship him. Jesus responds with a quote from Deuteronomy. “And Jesus answered him, “It is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve.’ “(Luke 4:8, ESV) When a person today accepts Jesus as his or her Lord and savior, they also renounce the kingdoms of this world and enter into God’s everlasting kingdom. Notice the words of Paul on this subject from Ephesians chapter two. Ephesians 2:1–5 (ESV) By Grace Through Faith 2 And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— (emphasis mine). When a person is born again and placed in God’s family, he becomes a citizen of God’s household and a joint heir with Jesus. God takes away your sin and gives you a high-ranking position in his kingdom. These redeemed individuals, the Bride of Christ, will rule and reign with Him for all of eternity. “Jesus followers” are no longer citizens of this world but have become citizens of God’s kingdom and serve now as ambassadors for the Kingdom of God. 2 Corinthians 5:17–21 (ESV) 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. 20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

The Sons of God

A being is called a son of God when is directly created from the hand of God.
Psalm 82:6–8 ESV
6 I said, “You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you; 7 nevertheless, like men you shall die, and fall like any prince.” 8 Arise, O God, judge the earth; for you shall inherit all the nations!

Angels are sons of God

Angels were created before the creation of the world

6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them.

Angles were the morning stars that fell with Satan

Revelation 12:3–4 ESV
3 And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great red dragon, with seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads seven diadems. 4 His tail swept down a third of the stars of heaven and cast them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she bore her child he might devour it.

Adam was to rule and reign

Genesis 1:28 ESV
28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

Adam lost the kingdom

1 Corinthians 15:21–22 ESV

1 Corinthians 15:47 ESV
47 The first man was from the earth, a man of dust; the second man is from heaven.

Jesus is the Son of God

Jesus is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He will rule and reign forever more.
Matthew 3:17 ESV
17 and behold, a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”

Jesus is tested at the Son of God

Matthew 4:3 ESV
3 And the tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread.”
Matthew 4:6 ESV
6 and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, “ ‘He will command his angels concerning you,’ and “ ‘On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.’ ”

Jesus multiplies the Sons of God

1 Corinthians 15:20 ESV
20 But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.

Born again Believers are the Sons of God

John 1:12–13 ESV
12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

We will rule and reign with Christ

Revelation 5:9–11 ESV
9 And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, 10 and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.” 11 Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands,
Revelation 20:4 ESV
4 Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

We are the ambassadors of the Kingdom

2 Corinthians 5:19–20 ESV
19 that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. 20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
