Well this morning title is test responses last week was the ultimate test. Now we're this week we're going to see the the responses to the test but we'll go back through up a real quick. Not a quick review.

You did what?

Did you?

Okay, well, somewhere between 15 and 20 is best best we could come up with.

I don't know. I don't know. I don't know.

Was we get started this morning, I'll start out with some questions, just just so that the questions will help our application. I mean, that's a design of the questions every week. Why we start with him in, with him is so maybe we can dump tail. This in our lives. The first question is, who likes

I mean something we had three different kids and and two out of the three were horrible test and one of them was okay, at taking them not that they like them obviously. Nobody in your RZR hand said they like test

Okay.

So it's so if you kind of like intestine at least in that neighborhood, have you ever said Lord? I've got a handle on patients, would you please test me there, done, that fart.

You're not a cantaloupe, okay.

So so what is the purpose of a test? I mean, if we're going to walk through at ass, was it, what's the purpose of it? Is, it is it to grow us? Or is it? Or it may be better way to describe it, as it is in a way that we understand where we're at. What we understand what we know. It shows you where what do I know what what I'm able to do if it's a practical test. Yeah, I did I get an A B or C. Where am I at on the scale d? E f. So if the testing is to grow us and God's using it to grow us, are you currently in a test? Are you currently going through a test? I'll guarantee. I am I know exactly what's going on home and I'm in a, I don't know whether it's look like a final test but it's a test. And if you're not currently in a test, are you coming out of a test or you getting ready to start a test? I mean, what if we're in a relationship with God and he uses testing, as he's used in Abraham's life too gross to changes still allows to know where we're at. Where am I currently at? I know I'm in the middle one, so it's obvious to me, where I'm at. so, So it's just something to think about. I think about was Abraham as we walked through the text and lesson today and the last one is How do you respond to your testing? So, if you remember back, the first test we really got to see that was very defined, Abraham failed, the family test, any any truck to down to Egypt and ended up getting wealthy out of the deal but they escorted him out and said don't ever come back to Egypt again. But what was, what was, what was Abraham's response to that test? You remember of bakon chapter 13 and verse four and I can read you his response once he came back out of Egypt and he came back up into the promised land into Canaan. What was this? I told Dave he went to the Altar and worship guy. After he failed the test, he went back to the altar that he had last visited and got before the Lord, that was his response. When he failed it is that what we do? Nope, and I thinking complain, I mean that's my response, I just complain about things and that's why I know I'm going through test cuz that's what I'm doing every day. While I'm going to open up with our passage it. We're actually going to go through and then we'll do a review. And numb. And then we'll pray in between. So we're in Genesis 22, we're going to take up and verse 11 and it says, but the angel of the Lord called him from having and said Abraham Abram and he said, here I am, he said do not stretch your hand out against the lab and do nothing to him for. Now I know that you fear God since you have not withheld, your son, your only son from me, then Abram raised his eyes and looked and behold behind him was a ram caught in the thicket by his horns and Abraham went and took the RAM and offered it up him. Offered him offered him up for a burnt offering in place of his son, Abram called the name of the place. The Lord will provide as it is said to be to this day in the mouth of the Lord. It will be provided. Then the angel of the Lord called to Abram a second time from heaven and said by myself, I have sworn declares the Lord because you I have done this thing, and Have not withheld, your son, your only son indeed. I will greatly bless you and I will greatly multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sandwiches on the seashore and your seed shall possess the Gate of their enemies in your seed, all the nations of the Earth shall be blessed because you have obeyed my voice. So Abraham returned to his young man and they arose and went together to best Sheba or Sheba and Abraham lived at versus Shiba.

Father, is we come before you this morning? And we look at the results and the responses of the test of Abraham help us to incorporate this into our lives. Help us to understand and be able to apply the lessons in the way that Abraham Works through the process and responded to you and how you responded to him. Other help us to understand how to put that in your own life. How to walk through the test that you're trying to grow us and mature. As in a relationship with you father, I Just Praise You for today. I pray that everything that is spoken and shared as it comes through, your scripture would be glorifying to you and accurate to you. Father, we lift up this morning to you, in Jesus name. Amen. so as we walked through kind of a review, which will set up for this morning,

In verse 22, we started last week where Moses outline for us. that there was some time that it passed after the last chapter, I'm so over this time God tested, Abraham saw Abraham's life was going really well. He's got to sign. Everything is going well. And then all of a sudden God says, I'm going to test you and he said Abraham and Abraham said, here I am. And that was his response as a servant heart. To his God is here, I am. From the depths of his heart, that's his attitude towards towards the Lord. And so the Lord says, okay, you're ready as a servant. Here's, here's the test Abram, take your son, your only son whom you love Isaac. Not Ishmael Isaac, very specific and he said, go to the mountain that I'm going to tell you offer him as a burnt offering on the mountain, which I was. So not only does, he not know exactly where he's going, but he's asking him to offer up Isaac, as a burnt offering. And we talked about last week, the burnt offering was thankful praise total Devotion to the Lord.

But also I learned this week that this sacrifice is completely burned up. When we get to the law, 630 years later, Moses outlined the law for us in Leviticus 20, Leviticus one. Hears it that I wanted to make sure I shared with you this morning that I learn. That not only is this sacrifice completely burned up and that's what he's fixing to put on the altar but when it gets to the law. So so you got a jump forward, six hundred thirty years. And this is the law for Moses that he brings forth about a burnt offering in in Leviticus 13. And 14 is what it says. If he if his offering is a burnt offering from the hood, he shall offer it a man without defect and and you need to relate this to the burnt offering of that. Isaac is a picture of for the future. So we've got Isaac over here then we've got six hundred. Thirty years later, the lobby Institute through Moses and still looking at the picture that when we're going to get to that picture giving a minute of Christ on the cross. Okay, so we have this offering is completely burned up and he says It's a male without defect. He shall offer it in the doorway of the 10 of meetings that it may be acceptable before the Lord, he shall lay its hands on the head of the burnt offering that it may be acceptable for him to make an atonement on his behalf. And I didn't share this last week. This part last week, but this burnt offering is an atonement for sin. You lay your hand on it and your transfer, your sins, to the burnt offering and it's completely consumed on the altar. Okay. So let's go back to our view and that's what that in your mind as we walk through what God is ask. Abraham to do with this promise, that he's waited, we're sitting somewhere around 45 years that he's gone through that, so it's 25 and then roughly Isaacs 15 to 20, we don't know exactly but somewhere in that range. So he's waited this long to have this sun, the sun, a promise that he made 45 years earlier. And then all the sudden he says, Offer him up as a burnt offering completely burn up your son as an atonement for sin and you're like, I could he do that. This is out of the character of God, this is not something that God would ask anybody to do, but yet he does. And so Abraham has to wrestle with this, not only mentally, but emotionally, this is his beloved Son. So he's he's we got to figure out and that's what we talked about last week. You have to walk through this. Not only the emotions, but you also have to process this. And so that's what Abraham does as he gets ready, he's like, okay, can't sleep Rose early in the morning. Saddled his donkey. He's preparing for him and Isaac. So he goes out and he cuts wood. And we talked about this last week. He chops. He personally 120 years old chops, the wood.

for the altar that he's going to burn up his son with you know, we've all chopped wood and it's not really something you have to think about but it is something you can get some frustration out on or work through some Mental things that you need to sort through so you can chop it. So I chop some wood for the altar himself and then they, they Rose and they got together and they left. So then they got a three-day Journey to the mountain. And what do you do for three days? I forgot to ask you to sacrifice, your son is completely out of character for him to ask you to do that.

Your process and you're trying to work through how come I'm going through this test. How come I'm going through this? Why this is just not make sense. This doesn't make sense to me to do this. You're going to give up your boys as a sacrifice. There's no way I don't have enough faith. Call your discretion. Okay, good night. So so, so it's three days in this process and it gets to the place. And this is the first sign that of Abraham's faith that he hasn't got. You get to this place is alright. You two guys and I still don't know why he brought the two guys. We wasn't asked to assume figure it out.

Turk 3/3 back you.

Sure. Okay.

Extra guy. Smoking sounds good. We're going with Charlie. Yep, good idea. And they also we talked about last week, could have been witnesses to this process because Abram's says, hate Ian. The ladder going to go over there, we're going to worship God, we're going to worship and then where we are going to return. Both of us are returning back. All right, even if I sacrifice, and we're both coming back and that was the first sign of the intent and tense face. Except that Abraham has has in in his Lord and God. And so then Abraham took the wood and he and he put it on Isaac. And so this way, we know Isaac's, not a young man, he packed all the wood up the mountain, For the altar that he's going to get burn. He packed it all up there. So he's got this on and they're walking together. And I we talked about this last week, this hasn't it being an emotional walk for a father that's going to For the sunstroke and then all of a sudden, I think adds to this emotional thing is his dad. You got the fire, you've got the knife. We've got the wood. Where's the lamp?

And what is a, what is a dad telling?

The Lord will God will provide God, will provide for himself a lamb for the burnt offering. So you think back Through this process. How did Isaac even come to be? Sarah's Williams dad. Abraham reproductively his dad. So this is a miracle child that God provided through them. So he tried it already the lamb so he was very accurate what he said and then they walked on it. So again it's just to me that's the emotional part of this is I've got to walk with my son know and I'm going to cut his throat and we're having discussions as we're traveling. I just it. It boggles my mind to be able to do that. I think I would be asking then I said this last week. Sorry? Son, I'm sorry. Son, that would be my conversation. But I already know that Isaac at this point, realizes yet that he is the lamp. So we're walking on and they get to the base and Abraham himself, not Isaac Abraham's self built the altar. He took the wood and put it on there, and then he binds his son and puts him on the altar. Aaron did all this in South 920. Didn't pack the wood up the mountain. Not only is the old and Isaac's young enough and stout enough to do this. But also what's that, a picture of Isaac pack the wood up the mountain. What did Christ do? He carried his cross up the mountain so you can see. This whole testing is a picture of what that seed is going to be in the future. Every detail almost as it is like, oh I can see. Christ it that I think is a picture of Christ. Abraham is a picture of God. And so as they walk through this, and he puts him on the Altar and he gets to the point. Where is Stratton? This is where I'm going to reread your first 10. Abraham stretches out his hand and he takes the night to slay his son and so this is where we left off last week. He's got the knife in his hand. What is going through Abraham's mind at this point. Before he cuts his son's throat.

I know the promise that God. Has told me for 45 years roughly give or take a few. I know the promises of the seed and of the Nations and of the land you promised please in Genesis when we started this project, this journey If I kill him. Priceless throat and we sacrificing Burnie Mall up. Which is what he's asked me to do. What's got to go to do? Bring you back. Salt. And that's not just Janine. And my thought it is actually Abraham's thought and thankfully they put it in Hebrews 11.

So 11. And this is where we left off with these thoughts and in his mind last week, and it and 11.

And I'm going to read 17 through 19. This is what it says by faith Abraham when he was tested offered up Isaac and he had received. The promises was offering up his his only begotten son. It was to him know it was he to whom it was said and Isaac, your descendants Shall be Called soap for future. Understanding that the seed was the future verse 19, he considered that God is able to raise people even from the dead from which he also received him back as a type.

The writer Hebrews tells us what was in Abraham's at that moment in time. You're raising from the dead, that's his only option at this point, to fulfill the promise. He has to raise him from the dead if I can remember any.

Just have faith that this was going to happen. it's crazy, but if we look at this picture of this father, giving his only begotten son, And what happens? 2050 years later.

Father threw a miracle in Mary. Just like this father over here through a miracle of two dead reproductive people. Brought forth a lamb.

That was a type. That was a picture of what was going to happen. The father, 2050 years later, had his son packed, the wood up up the mountain, bounding with the nails, under the wood, on the cross, on the altar. And he took all of our sins, all of the Wrath that we've deserved on him.

And he died. He sacrificed me? And so that's the picture that we're going to, we're working to and so's we go back up to Genesis and we see. Okay, that's where we left off. And this is how it starts, it says but The angel of the Lord. Now, do you remember when we talked about the angel of the Lord before back in Genesis 16 7 to 11 the angel of the Lord. Showed up, the angel means a messenger of the Lord is pretty specific. You remember what we talked about? It was with Hagar the angel of the Lord showed up with Hagar, who is the Angel of the Lord. Jesus, it was a christophany. Just showed up to Hagar and said, hey, just submit yourself to Sarah and go back and live with her. All of a sudden Jesus shows up again here. In our text an angel, the Lord called out from Heaven. He didn't show up, personally, just called out from Heaven, Abraham, Abraham. I don't think I could say. Deep enough pieces here, I am. Sorry, I'm your servant. I'm sorry for your just showed up. I'm ready to do. Whatever you want to do different. What I'm fixing to do. So I think you'd be super excited to hear from God at this moment. From Jesus at this moment in time and he says he says do not stretch out your hand against the lad do nothing and I'm like that would be music to my ears. I would be like, okay, we got this, thank you. This is not going to happen, but I just think that would just relieve a whole lot of pressure. And then he says for now, I know that you fear God, the word fear here is Not Afraid. Like if I don't do this I'm going to get killed this, is that a reverent fear? This isn't I am in awe of God. I, I love God more than I love myself to not do what he asked me to do. This is what it what this is saying. and what in the other thing that it's saying is You passed your test Abram, Abraham, you passed the test. I asked you to give up your son. Your only son and you were willing to do it. Not withheld, your son. Your only son from me,

So, he passed the test. He was willing to do it. Okay. So as we look at this as a final exam list say

Have you ever had a final exam of the semester at school?

Too many to remember, okay? So leading up to the final exam, what were the other things that you did in that semester to get to the final exam?

Studied the teacher taught you. What did you have quizzes? Pop Quiz. Did you have other tasks? Midterms other tasks generally? What are those tests do for you?

Okay, they helped you prepare. They showed you where you were at, they let you know what you doing, what you didn't know. They also let the teacher know where you were at, okay? So you jumped forward to the final exam and he gives the final exam to you get the final exam back and it says a plus. And then there's a note over to the side that says, I knew you could do this.

The teacher had taught him taught everything that he knew he had prepared through the whole semester. For the student, to be able to get to that point. He'd given him all that, he had all that he needed to get an A+ and he knew that he could do it. So, is this statement and our passage that says Now, I know that you fear, God, the Jesus already know that Abraham fearing before he ever started this. He did. So this statement is not for forgot, it's for Abraham, Abraham, you passed the test. I knew you could do it. I didn't give you the final exam until you went through, all these other test, that you some of your past, some of your failed, it told you where you're at, you worship me, you followed me. You listen to me, you grew in our relationship to this point to build a handle this test. And this test is a picture of what I'm going to do down the road. And I wanted everybody throughout time to understand what faithfulness in me and being able to mentally process through tests and grow in our relationship. Mean, and how have Jesus down the road to help you?

This 2050 years from Abraham to Christ.

They didn't didn't always have the Bible. They didn't always have the straightforward stuff, they ate, they had it and put together. I mean, Moses, 630 years started the process and then it carried on so that time so we can sit here and read it and go, I should be stronger. My faith than anybody else in here cuz I can look back at this and read this and study this and go. All I should be able to have enough Faith to do. What? A Abraham dead? No way, I'm not there yet. I don't want the final test. I wouldn't pass it cuz I'm not where he was at. He's the father of faith for reason. God walking through all the in and even though I'm sure there were other tests and ever because I feel like, okay, we're going through a test now in our own live. Me and Vicky are. That's a big one. I'm not open. It's not my final one but it's a big one. But I know I'm not where I need to be, cuz I'm going through it. But there's other things that I go through every day that I complain about, and I'm not having enough Faith. So, I got these little test throughout the day and also this big thing that's going on. How do I do that? I need to mentally process and focus on the front and we talked about this last week. Focus on the promises that God has shared in his work, in my relationship with him in the strength of the holy spirit gives me to be able to focus on What God has said, not. What my mind is trying to do and not what my emotions are telling me to do. I need to focus on and to get through this, to be able to process through this. And it's so cool to be able to see a man with a relationship with God and how God walking through this, to be able to handle this, and he gives him the time, the three days up Cottonwood. Previous to get to this point and it is refreshing to me to be able to say and to see and understand how God operates, how God is working and growing. And so now we're seeing the responses. So we've seen and we're seeing in the midst, the response of Christ. And so he's like okay if you're here, you have faith. that Abraham raises up, his eyes and looked And behold behind him. So we're figuring that as God's Jesus is talking to him from Heaven. He's got his head down and as he looks up, well, Isaac's in front of him and Isaac, probably laying there. And we talked about last week, how much Faith Isaac has to just take this. Just like Christ, it went to the garden and prayed three times. If there's any other way, the Deception Pass, let's do that. But there wasn't God, said you got to go through it. But Isaac's laying there, not saying anything, but I could see him going. Right behind you. So Abraham looked behind it and guess what? A ram is caught in the thicket by his horns. That is a heck of a coincidence. But there's a ram caught in the thicket. What this weren't? So, Abraham gets the ram. The that he already knew the Lord would provide a lamp for the burnt offering. Well he goes and gets a little and Susie seed is like okay, this isn't a coincidence. This is this is the last time he goes and get some RAM and he offered up for a burnt offering in place of his son. Okay. And so this is the details that we needed to see for our future picture in place of his son. So up to this point, we got burnt offering we understand that we understand that there's some atonement for sin there. The thing that we need to see is the substitutionary sacrifice with the atoning for scent, and right, here is the replacement is the substitution apart, God provided, the father, provided a replacement for us. We couldn't do it. We can't do anything about our own. Because we're Sinners somebody that was perfect that was unblemished has to take care of that sin and God provided that through Mary. But where did that thing come from? The documentary. Abraham. Same seat, all the way through. God, provided and replace it. The substitutionary sacrifice of the atonement for our sins. Replaced it, but that Lamb on the Altar and we saw basically Isaac rise from the dead getting off. Now I actually never got killed but it was a picture of the cross. Queso. the next thing we see him called the name of the Abraham called the name of the place. The Lord will provide. And so it's as big as strong as it was for Abraham. Listen to God asking him to do. Something was completely out of his character to kill the kill this promised. Now he says Yahweh a year or Jehovah-jireh God will provide he names this place that this just happened to Salter, wherry burn this ramen in the substitutionary ram. God will provide Jehovah-jireh. Have you heard that before the term Jehovah-jireh? This is where it came from. Abraham saw some more character attributes of God in the name divorce. At the altar, do I? Jehovah-jireh.

Beh. I r e h.

Yes. And and so this so that it carries on, okay? I the Lord will provide and it is said to this day, which is the day that Moses is riding this 630 years. Later, the amount of the Lord will be provided. So my question is this happened. The Isaac on this altar, then we jump forward. 630, day's years. Whenever Moses wrote this, what was going on in the mountain at this point? And I'll give you a hint. A few years later, Solomon built the temple that David wanted built on this spot.

so where we where we sitting at that point, where is that happening at Jerusalem in Jerusalem. So this Mount Moriah is the mountain that Jerusalem has been sold. And then some of the commentators talked about, okay, well, if that's the case.

Where Christ was actually crucified was just up the hill, a little gal, got them, you know, on this little heel but it isn't very far from where the Temple of Solomon. The temple was rebuilt that at Christ time, was that? But let's jump forward today. What is sitting on that spot now

Excellent. The Dome of the Rock. Mosque is sitting on this spot today. and they are actually worse or worst begun or saying that this is the where the Temple of or the altar of Isaac was 1993 years. And then another 2050 years almost 4,000, well, over four thousand years ago. It's sitting in Jerusalem, waiting for the new Temple to be built. Everything is a picture going forward. I just found it interesting that it was the same spot. Was also the next same spot was the next same spot, you know, it's not a coincidence. I like the ram in the thicket, but it is no coincidence that we're going to see the response of the Angel and then the angel of the Lord. So Jesus called out to Abraham again. A second time from heaven, but this time, you didn't give him time to answer. I know Abraham would have said your, I am. But even given time he goes in and says following it in verse 16 by myself, I have I have declared the Lord. Because you have done the this thing and not and have not withheld, your son, your only son. So because you did this around because you had the faith to give your son the one that you love. In this way, the way I asked you to do it. I am going to swear in this way. Now, do you remember a few weeks ago? Adam taught a lesson in 21, the end of 21, and what was he talking about? Tell the truth. Let your yes. Be yes and your no be no they were making. They were swearing to other things. It during those times they didn't want to always bring God into it. If they brought got into it, they had to fulfill what they swore, but if they swore to their mother's grave, they could break that promise without feeling like they weren't doing anything. But if they brought got into it, the powerful Almighty, Authority of God, then they had to keep the promise. so, my question is, We can all swear to God. And bring God into it. And say, okay I'm going to keep my promise I swear to God because that's a that's the power, that's the authority. It don't get any higher now but if you're God, what do you swear to? If you're ready, the power and authority.

Yep, exactly. So it says this in Hebrews 6. Explains it to us. In Hebrews 6, verses 13 and 14. It says when God made the promise to Abraham, so he's he's going back to Rider. He was going back to this moment. We're reading, and he says, okay, since he could swear by no one greater he swore by himself, saying, I will surely bless you and I will surely multiplying God had to swear to himself. There's nobody greater. So he can swear himself and hold himself accountable. And you will fulfill his promise. Abraham knows through all these other tests and quizzes. And every other thing that he's learned, God fulfilled his promise and he and he knew this time he would to, my son is the seat. There's going to be a great nation. The Descendants are going to be like this sand of the sea shore, he's promised in these things and he knows he will do it and he has faith in them. So when we're going through, our trials are test every day. Are we focusing on the fact that God's going to take care of it or we like complaining like I do. So we're back up in Genesis and we'll see the rest of the response. He did it because he followed through giving his only son. And then he says indeed I will greatly bless you and I will greatly multiply your seed as the stars of the of the heavens and of the sand of the seashore. Queso These promises were made clear back when we started Abraham in Genesis, 12:1 through three. But what's the difference that he makes the promise? That he reiterates this promise or Jesus is real to write this promise? But what's the difference? I'm going to read 12-3. Does it says here I will greatly bless you and then we go back up to 2:12 to and it says, I will bless you. And then reverse 3. It says, I will bless those who bless you. What's the difference in the promise? 45 years later than the promise he made at Rizzoli, 45 years or earlier. What's the difference in those two promises?

I will greatly bless you. The early promise. I will bless you. The word great hear that, he adds to the promise, it's just it's the same word as bless. So you saying I Will Bless bless you. He's giving him a divine. Promise. Up taking care of it, given him provisions of being favored. I Will Bless bless you. I will greatly bless you which way understand. I will greatly bless you. I'm going to take care of your provisions. Divinely going to take care of your provision. So that's what he's in the katyn. I'm not only going to just bless you, I'm going to really take care of you. Adrian, now that you've not withheld, your son, you pass a test. I'm going to double bless you. Then he goes on. With another difference. He says I will greatly multiply your seed and he takes two verses and put some together. So Genesis 1316 talks about the dust in the and the ground. So they like the sand of the sea shore and then in 15 5e talks about the Stars. So he takes these two previous versus put them together. And he says, I'm not only going to multiply you. I'm going to greatly multiply, you know, this great is different work. This great means in large or increase, so he saying, I'm going to greatly increase and multiply you. So those are there's two different B says greatly in. Both Lots but it's two different Hebrew words. One means I'm going to take care of all the provisions. TT here. I'm going to increase what I even told you before. So he makes these promises Jesus does. And then the last one he says and your seed Single Seed shall possess the gates of their enemies, so, if you're in war, Who's in charge of the gate.

The king, the captain, whoever whoever has the highest power takes go to the gate. If somebody's coming shut the gate, they're in charge of the gate and that's what God saying, your enemies are at

The mercy or of, who's running? The gate will, who's running the gate in the text?

Goddess. Jesus's guess who's in charge of throne? Satan and demons and everybody just not saved into. The great pit of fire. Christ. Ultimately he's in charge of the gate Jesus's. He's even the charger to get over here and got told the gate, you don't have to worry about a thing. I've got you covered.

It carries on in your seed all nations of the Earth shall be blessed because you have obeyed my voice. He's relating everything. Back to pass on this test. You obeyed me. What? What does it mean? When a cyst in your seat? Again, the one seed through Isaac to Jesus all nations of the Earth, shall be blessed. What is he? What is he trying to tell us?

Every Nation will have an opportunity to experience Christ. Jesus Will influence Every Nation on the whores in one way or another. And I'm not saying that the nation's going to be saved but they're probably be some individual spiritually in the nation that know Christ. Throughout the whole world. I'm not saying it's hot, it's all happened today but someday it will.

It's always. So he closes out this section in this chapter, in this paragraph, not the chapter. We got a little bit more for next week and it says so, Abraham return to the young man together. Just like, you promised. Just like you said, and they Rose and went together to wear Shiva. And Abram lived at Bush. If you remember Adams, what did he say about bersheba? What does that word mean? Is anybody here then?

Yep, maybe it was agreement. They swore. And it was the it was the well, well of the Sevenfold oath was what it was. So he returns back to a place that he dug that you took care of. That was promised. But out of Covenant tied to it and that's where he lived. And so he journeyed back and I can imagine this journey back was a whole lot better than the journey going the other way. I mean I think him and Isaac had a great conversation on the journey back. Like can you believe what just happened? Did you see what happened that? I had a front-row view of what happened. I saw the ram before you did that. You weren't paying enough attention, you had your head down. I saw it first. So Tremendous faith of Abraham. He's the father of Faith, but Isaac had tremendous Faith. Also, Those, we go back to our questions that we in with today. Where's our fit?

If, if it's true, the purpose of faith is to grow us. Or more accurately to tell us where we're at on these tests. Are we looking for that? As we walk to our day and I like, okay, I'm being tested here a little bit. My focused on

What crisis do in my life at the moment. Not big picture, just our daily walk. Am I am I walking with him? I'm like thinking about him. I focus on him. I mean this was an intense final Testing, this is the end of the semester test final. But we have these daily ones, we have to walk through. At least I seem like I do.

Oh yeah.

Yeah. And then, right after, that's my favorite stuff. Cuz you gets spanked around a little bit.

He knew. Right.

God's promises. We got to stand on them. That's how we get through complaining and

the promises. But that's the hard part for us is remembering and focusing on the promises and not what is going on right in front of my face that I'm like, this stops. Don't want to go through this and complain about it. What you say Greg. Itzik flunking well. But at least, you know where you're at in your like. Okay, there's no place to go but up

so, These are more practical pissed when we realize, okay, I'm going through a task, I'm starting at a store or I just finishing the test, but I know another one's coming or I'm right in the middle of it.

If I pass it, we saw what Abraham did when he failed it, he went to worship. God, even though he failed it and worship God. Now, when he passes it, what did he do? In verse 14 of our texts? What did Abraham do when he passed the test?

Abraham called on the name of the place, the Lord will provide he worship God again in, and in the character of God and said, Yahweh a year or Jehovah Jireh, he will provide and he provided the lamb. He will take care of us. No matter what our situation is. All we have to do is have faith that he'll take care of us, not saying that we don't have responsibilities in the middle that I'm not trying to say that we don't, but ultimately, we need to rely on him to get through it.

So, how do you respond? When you fail the test.

What should we do?

I told you earlier. I complain. It's pretty easy. I know what I'm feeling. I'm complaining.

Yeah, well we got to focus on his promises. He's probably going to pick you up and dust you off and bring you back and especially if you're complaining like Iams like app. I'll give you a spanking, get you back on track because you're complaining too much. So Just something to think about as you go through your day. Okay, what's up? We're doing here today. What's he doing? Big. Big picture. You know, we got a little pop quiz and we got a final coming. We got to get prepared for

Some place close a father is we've had an opportunity to see a lot of your character. We know that you've given us promises through 66 books. We have promises from you to read to understand father but we fail, we struggle our flesh gets in the way and we would not kill our son because of what I want, not what you want phenomenal picture of doing what you want, what you ask even when we don't understand? It doesn't make sense to just go. OK, Google make sense, but I'm going to do what you ask for, what you want, not what pleases me, which is hard for us to do and we do fail. Father continued, to pick us up, help us to focus on your promises, especially the one that Christ gives us. That he saves us. He takes care of our sending takes care of the punishment we deserve. He was the substitutionary atonement on that, cross for us. Praise you for that. Thank you for that. Just help us that faith in you in Jesus name. Amen.
