Galatians 4:1-7 Heir of God through Christ
How can we be called a child even heir of God when we were so far removed from God
We did not look like God
We did not act like God
We were not born of God

Humble Beginnings (1-3)

No difference between a child and a servant
Both are placed under the bondage of tudors and governors
Both have no right to claim the possessions of the father
All people were in bondage to the elements of the world
Colossians 2 freed from the elements of the world, manmade religion
Living to please some person or religion by following traditions and rituals
This is where we were when God found us. We were but a child, equal to a servant with nothing to offer him for his love.

Redeeming Intercessor (4-5)

God came in the fulness of time
He was sent by God and he was God (John 1:1-3)
He was made of a woman and humbled himself as he put on human flesh
He was made under the law so that he could fulfill the law
He came to where we are at so that he could open the way for us to go where he came from
As the true Son of God he knows the Father and pleases the Father
As the true Son of Man he knows the temptations of man but was yet without sin
He is the one and only mediator between God and man
Jesus came from his glory and humbled himself to where we are so that he could redeem us and reconcile us back to the glory of himself and his Father.

Highest Position (6-7)

We have the Spirit of God dwelling in our hearts
This gives the closest connection to the Father in heaven
We can cry out Abba, Father just as Jesus did. When Jesus prayed, God listened. and now through the Spirit we can do the same thing (Romans 8:26-28)
We are no longer a servant but a child of God and an heir to all things
This is through Christ our Savior. Because of our relationship to him, we will be glorified as he is glorified
We will be given all things
Eternal life
Eternal home
Eternal rewards
Eternal power
This is the work that Christ came to accomplish. He did not come looking for worthy people but those who would trust in his worthiness. When we trusted in him for salvation he began a work in us to make us a child of God.
