I have read these Scriptures today over and over
My goodness these 10 verses are packed full
Jesus and God are One
Jesus only does the will of the Father
Jesus completely mimics God
The Love of the Father for His Son Jesus
Greater Works will be done vs 20
Jesus waits on the Father to Direct him vs 20
Jesus wants you to marvel and be in awe
The Father raises the dead and gives life
Jesus also raises the dead and gives life
There is even a debated issue Concerning the nature and process of Salvation today in these verses that separates the church today. at the end of verse 21 “to whom he will”
then there is the issue of Judgement and who’s responsible for all Judgement
It has vs 24 HEAR and Believe in Jesus to have eternal Life
It has the assurance of Salvation in Vs. 24
a warning of the CROSS in vs. 25
and amazing if you were an OT Jew the raising of the dead into the present heaven

Our message today is a Reminder of Who JESUS IS
and since our mission is to Discover Jesus in our Study of John.
Lets look at WHO JESUS SAYS HE IS.... What is it that we are called to learn today...
Lets look ahead in our Gospel of John for a Moment.
Think of it like looking at a map OR SCROLLING
IN APPLE MAPS to look ahead to see what is coming up ahead.
John 14:6 “6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
We have been laying a foundation of knowledge in the first 5 chapters
our next weeks and month will be learning to build the frame
and in the end of John we will learn about completing our interior
and understand deeper about fully moving into God’s house
Our studies in the next weeks will be moving to support
and fully ground your understanding of WHO HE IS?
The way the truth and the life
THE WAY
THE WAY
The Jews are following their way
and Jesus is preaching a new way.
The completion of the old and the advent of the new.
That the Law doesn’t make you righteous
Jesus Christ’s death and Resurrection made you Righteous in God’s Sight
Believing and committing your life to the Lord makes you Righteous.
We all struggle with the same thing
but simply put
We must follow Jesus’s WAY
We must learn and study
Yes there is AMAZING GRACE and Love beyond our Understanding
But we must be IN CHRIST
IN CHRIST, not simply say a formatted statement
but to become like HIM.
We must be submissive to the CHANGE that the Holy Spirit
Guides in US.
Christian = little Christs
The truth is WE must have our Character based,
modelled and changed by the
Fruit of the Spirit.
Galatians 5:22–23 (ESV)
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
This is the WAY
The Way of putting GOD first in all pieces of the PIE of LIFE
THE TRUTH

We can all admit that we believe that Jesus is the Truth
because He says that He is ---- right?
Hopefully all the Pastors in your life taught you the same thing.
But then there is the News alphabet
abc, nbc, cbs, cnn. msnbc, fox,
the internet and even false teachers.
There is so much information that YOU often don’t know what to Believe.
Honestly --- when i watch any news or hear any news
i have learned to ask ----- is that really true?
I grew up with Walter Cronkite and Barbara Walters
who i believed
This is said about Walter Cronkite
Walter Cronkite earned the American people's trust by telling them hard truths and refusing to toe the expected line. Cronkite also trusted the people to respond well to his truth-telling and to use their intelligence to evaluate his words.
Today we turn on the news and hear peoples opinions
I do not need to hear Worldly opinions or Man’s Desire in my LIFE
I need to know that Jesus is in control
There is no politician, no Republican, no Democrat, no Court, no authority on this Earth that can save me
That Is ONLY because of the sacrifice, death and resurrection of my LORD Jesus CHRIST.
that all things occur for a reason
Oh, don’t miss my point.
i am a conspiracy theorist
i am fully and complete believing that Satan will conspire and is conspiring to side track humans as he did in the Garden.
i believe the WORD OF GOD is TRuth
1 Peter 5:8 (ESV)
8 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
and that Jesus promised to bring it all to GOOD in the End
AMEN.
We HEAR AND THEN BELIEVE — this is the model of Jesus
Part of the issue that needs addressed is the Authority of Jesus
The Authority of Jesus
Let me be clear right up front
JESUS HAS THE AUTHORITY OF GOD
and once you FULLY BELIEVE and know JESUS and GOD
You will understand the depth of that Authority
When you drive on I 25 and notice a police officer up ahead you slow down and obey the law.
Friends our issue is that Jesus is not just ahead but BY OUR SIDE
We need to Pause, Pray, Ponder, and then Proceed with submission to HIM alone.
Our verses today are in RED. Quoting Jesus.
in our passage today we see:
Jesus fully submits to the authority of the Father
John 5:19 (ESV)
19 So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise.
This is a humble and affirming statement
Jesus is saying it is NOT about ME,
Not about US, But JesUS
for I am ALL about GOD
----- let me clarify that He is God
and YES, i believe it is hard for us as Humans to understand the
duality and the Trinitarian nature of God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Yet the Bible says it is .... So it is.
Look at
John 5:21 (ESV)
21 For as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to whom he will.
John 5:22–23 (ESV)
22 For the Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son,
23 that all may honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.
So Jesus is submissive to the Father
and now we hear the POWER OF JESUS
To give LIFE ---- Jesus is addressing Eternal life, victory over death, Heaven entry
and to Judge who Goes to Heaven and receives Eternal LIFE
This is the ultimate authority isn’t IT?
to decide who lives and dies
Think of a judge in a murder case.
He is the authority… He must listen and rule
He must manage the attorneys and the Jurors
giving instruction and adhering to standards of conduct.
BUT the authority of Jesus we are talking about here is not the same
no jury
no appeals
but absolute power and authority over life.
i want to stay on the example.
a person on trial for murder is likely fearing the judgement of the court but also know that whatever the judgement is that there is still a chance.
there are appeals and pardons available up until that last breath.
Jesus authority is ABSOLUTE, no court of appeals, no governor pardons
This FACT should change our perspective on our LIFE and the LIFE of those that the Lord puts in our path.
Accepting Jesus is LIFE
Denying Jesus is DEATH
THE LIFE
THE LIFE
Jesus is LIFE Jesus is THE LIFE
Jesus is the way to eternal life.
Jesus doesn’t make that complex
but He is never fooled by false, selfish believe
Jesus loves you
when we Believe in Him we are assured of eternal life.
John 5:24 (ESV)
24 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.
JESUS has arrived
i can still remember Sammy Davis Jr, parading around shouting
Here comes the Judge, Here comes the Judge.
Life comes from HEARING the WORD
and the WORD is CHRIST JESUS
Friends
today we are looking at the WORDS of JESUS
all though i fully believe, accept on EVERY WORD of the Bible.
there must be something special about the very WORD of our LORD
JESUS speaks the ETERNAL TRUTH
John 5:25 (ESV)
25 “Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.
The HOUR IS COMING AND IS NOW HERE
you are not going to HEAVEN
because of anything that YOU try to do
the LAW is COMPLETED by JESUS
you must HEAR AND BELIEVE in JESUS
or HE WILL JUDGE
IN OR OUT
Believe or NOT
verse 26 --- JESUS has the POWER of life and death
Jesus has the authority as the JUDGE, JURY and EXECUTIONER
Jesus in verse 28
reveals HIS DEATH AND RESURRECTION
Verse 29
John 5:29 (ESV)
29 and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.
Accept Jesus ---- you get Heaven
Deny Jesus --- You get HELL
we make it complex in order to justify the actions of ourselve and of others
BUT
IN OR OUT
is the WAY, THE TRUTH, and ETERNAL LIFE.
