OVERFLOWING GRACE GOD’S LOVING FAVOR IN MY INADEQUACY RESULTING IN OVERFLOWING BENEFITS. Worship Through Giving Thanks PSALM 100 WORSHIP GOD THROUGH YOUR THANKFULNESS. 1-2, 4 • Jubilant worship of God as a response to Sovereign relationships (adoration) • Thankful praise of God as response to his faithful character (gratitude) Principles of Worship 1. Worship should be an expression of the heart. 2. Worship should reveal both the actions and character of God. 3. All people at all times should worship. 4. Worship is both emotional and volitional. 5. Worship includes service, singing, adoration, and gratitude—it is a life of worship. GOD IS WORTHY OF THANKFUL WORSHIP. 3, 5 • Be thankful to God because of His relationship with you: sovereign shepherd. 3 • Be thankful to God because of His continual good character. 5 BE THANKFUL TO THE LORD FOR HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH US AND HIS CONTINUAL GOOD CHARACTER TOWARDS US. APPLICATION 1. Complaining isn’t worship – look for the red flag of complaining as I should be giving thanks. 2. His sheep must know God to worship God – understanding God, enjoy his pasture, seeking him, personal walk, being in church. 3. My circumstances don’t control my thankfulness – the character of God does. APPLICATION 4. Remember your service is for the Lord and that my service is an act of worship. 5. I must actively connect my relationship with God and the character and actions of God with the circumstances of my life and praise God for His character and actions. BE THANKFUL TO THE LORD FOR HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH US AND HIS CONTINUAL GOOD CHARACTER TOWARDS US.
