INTRO: Today, we get to begin a new series. I always get excited when we start a new series because it means that we get a change of scenery. We have been studying in the Old Testament for most of the year, but today we begin a NT study on the Epistles of John.
John was an apostle of Jesus and the author of the Gospel of John. A couple fun facts about John:
He referred to himself as the one whom Jesus loved
He was the only apostle who stayed at the scene while Jesus was crucified
He took responsibility to care for Mary, Jesus’ mother.
He ran faster that Peter.
